Inception-Movie-20-550x366.jpg

I believe Inception will be the film that doesn’t let us down, the one that exceeds our expectations and takes us to that movie place we always want to go and rarely seem to find. This is going to be like that roller coaster that leaves us gasping and breathless, running right from the exit back to the entry line so we can immediately ride again. I can feel it.

Christopher Nolan is finally letting out snippets of information, some about the film itself and some about his inspiration, Star Wars:

“That was an entire world that didn’t exist anywhere else before. It only existed in that movie, and then your brain lived in it for a couple of hours, and it stuck with you.

Ever since I saw that film, whether I knew it or not, my ambition has been to give the audience that kind of experience. To create a world that they hadn’t expected before and hadn’t seen before and let them lose themselves in it. … There’s a huge advantage of jumping into something original that can be anything.”

Here’s an ET sneak peek with comments by Christopher Nolan and Leonardo DiCaprio.

And finally, the latest featurette from Warner Brothers, with a few more details than you may previously have seen.

I’m holding my breath and staying in my bunk until July 16th.

Contrasted with all the crap out there right now (besides Toy Story 3), this looks even better.

And someone needs to burn FIFA to the ground and piss on the ashes. Jesus.

Oooooh, TomHardyCillianMurphyJGLDiCaprioMICHAELFUCKINGCAINE...

Can this be now? I want it NOW.

Posted by: Jerce at June 27, 2010 3:36 PM

This movie looks so awesome, I cannot wait! Also Leo looks amazing!

Posted by: Mebe at June 27, 2010 3:45 PM

Early word from those who've seen it is its more likely to leave you dizzy and confused. Tone down the expectations. This will be good but not what you expect. Cerebral and stunning but not quite "fun".

Posted by: Sam at June 27, 2010 3:46 PM

I've just had a problem picking a story out of what I've seen.

Posted by: Jay at June 27, 2010 3:52 PM

Must...see...this film....immediately. Must...see.....For nearly six months I've saved a gift card to the Arclight in Hollywood for this movie, this moment, this experience. Who wants to get a group together for opening night? Any takers? Anyone??

Posted by: Barnes78 at June 27, 2010 4:29 PM

Outside of the trailers, I have read or seen nothing else about this movie. And I do it on purpose. I want Inception to work.

Posted by: Fredo at June 27, 2010 4:53 PM

I foresee a very large negative feedback surge when this movie is finally released. Myself? Keeping dumb about everything. Purposely not watching new trailers, snippets, anything. My hype is this - It's Nolan and DiCaprio looks like he nails a role. There's some bendy stuff, too.

That's my excitement. That's it.

Posted by: Zerath at June 27, 2010 4:55 PM

Mmmmmmm we should PajibaCon this in NYC.

Just sayin'

Posted by: D-Day at June 27, 2010 6:25 PM

How many kinds of awesome?

Nine kinds of awesome!

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 27, 2010 6:35 PM

You're nine kinds of awesome.

Posted by: Mrs. Skipper at June 27, 2010 6:37 PM

Guilty as charged.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 27, 2010 6:38 PM

Because no one else would have, that's why.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 27, 2010 6:39 PM

MRS. SKIPPER/MRS. JULIEN.....Are your husbands aware of the blossoming love affair between you two??

Posted by: CreativeDeath at June 27, 2010 7:05 PM

FIFA doesn't want technology intruding on The Beautiful Game? Then why does the referee wear a headset?

High time someone staked these idiots out on the pitch and invited a horde of irate soccer fans to express their justifiable anger about the number of missed and improper calls.

Okay, rant is over. I feel a bit better now.

And no, I did not lose money on the Germany/England match.

Posted by: The Wanderer at June 27, 2010 7:08 PM

I want to experience Inception without spoilers, Cindy Lady. Just sit back and let it wash over me.

Posted by: Optimus Rhyme at June 27, 2010 7:37 PM

I'm crossing my fingers in expectation of watching and enjoying the hell outta this bitch, haven't felt this pumped in a while.

One little thing gives me pause though, Ellen Page. Girlfriend better have outgrown *hipster* as her default character portrayal mode.

Posted by: BarbadoSlim at June 27, 2010 7:53 PM

BarbadoSlim, agree completely. Worried she's got no range. She so took me out of the trailer so completely, I was half expecting the next scene to have Jeff Daniels or some such.

Posted by: Johnnyboy at June 27, 2010 9:48 PM

You two should check out Hard Candy and The Tracey fragments.

Posted by: Jman at June 27, 2010 10:56 PM

I was very impressed with Hard Candy. Hipster isn't her default, it's just the character she was cast as twice.

Posted by: ERM at June 28, 2010 12:02 AM

Barnes78, I'm down for an LA/Hollywood Inception experience.

Lemme shoot an e-mail to my old buddy welldressed (he doesn't have regular access to the internet these days, but I think he still checks his e-mail) to see if he'd like to come, too.

Posted by: Jelinas at June 28, 2010 12:29 AM

JELINAS,

Awesome. The more, the merrier. When you get some details worked out, let me know. We should get tickets soon (and at the same time...ensuring the same row of seats and such). If any of the Los Angeles PAJIBA STAFF wants in, do it. (Though you may likely see it by opening night.) I'll be bold and risky and provide my email address for ya, drop me a line. In the words of the great Maury Ballstein Nolan's so hot right now he could take a crap, wrap it in tinfoil, put a couple fish hooks on it and sell it to Queen Elizabeth as earrings

Posted by: Colombo at June 28, 2010 5:48 AM

Christopher Nolan is well ahead of the race to to be the best director of the aughts or, hell, even the new century, so I'll definately be finding a way to see this in the theaters (& it isn't easy when you've got kids).

Appropos of nothing, but has anyone else notice how Nolan made Leo look just like, well, Nolan himself? You know, suit, unbuttoned dress shirt, combed back hairstyle that exaggerates the widow's peak. Not sure what it means, but interesting.

Posted by: Irving Washington at June 28, 2010 7:12 AM

Is it just me or did Leo miss catching the round out of the pistol @ 0.05 or so?

Is it just me or does Tom Hardy look like the actual coolest guy in this movie?

Posted by: D-Day at June 28, 2010 8:13 AM

Mmmmmmm we should PajibaCon this at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Just sayin'

Posted by: esme at June 28, 2010 10:57 AM

iTunes.

Duh.

You don't think they're really paying attention to the matches, do you?

Posted by: Rykker at June 28, 2010 11:48 AM

Aw shit, that looks pretty great. I'm glad there are other people in this world who have the imagination and money to make this happen.

Posted by: Brenton at June 28, 2010 10:15 PM

Mr. Julien and Mr. Skipper don't mind as long as he gets to watch.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 29, 2010 4:25 PM

At long last The Beatles and Itunes have resolved their difficulties and soon Itunes will be selling Beatles tracks. Perhaps the first one made available should be 'We can work it out'? Altogether now; 'Life is very short, and there's no ti-yi-yi-yi-yime, for fussing and fighting my friends...' :-) True though, ain't it!

Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and adore studying much more on this subject. If achievable, as you gain experience, would you mind updating your blog with additional data? It is extremely helpful for me.
