Actually, no she doesn't; they all look pretty good. But it was nice that you could be a total fucking asshole about it. You'll be the next Perez Hilton any day now.

Posted by: Joe Mama at July 7, 2011 7:06 AM

Is number three a "Smile like you're dead inside" candidate?

Posted by: Yossarian at July 7, 2011 7:18 AM

Wow that's....a really accurate title. Seriously what the hell is going on with the others? I know that most of them probably don't have personal stylist or anything but don't they have mirrors? Especially the ginger kid. I mean the poor boy is naturally ugly but very least he could try to take care of his hair and clothes. Good thing Emma Watson toned down her beauty with the short hair otherwise she would like she was from a different species

Posted by: Minto at July 7, 2011 7:21 AM

Someone is missing...

Posted by: kerokan at July 7, 2011 7:25 AM

No, she looks like the girl who thought it was a formal event and then awkwardly pretended she was coming from somewhere else and put up with everyone else making fun of her outfit while desperately considering whether taking off her shoes/belt would make her seem more casual. We've all been there.

Posted by: esme at July 7, 2011 8:29 AM

Bonnie Wright looks pretty good, though, and (blanking on her name) the actress who plays Luna Lovegood could ditch the jacket but looks fine otherwise.

Half the fun of these photos is playing the "who did you play in the movie?" game. Some are a little easier than others, like Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane and the twins (and the guy who played Neville, who grew up goooood). But first picture, who is that beween Ginny and Malfoy? And on either side of Tonks? (Please, let that not be Maggie Smith in the glasses with the gray dress and white trousers, as I'm not ready for Dame Smith to look that aged.)

Posted by: Joseph Finn at July 7, 2011 8:35 AM

But first picture, who is that beween Ginny and Malfoy? And on either side of Tonks?

No fucking idea who that first one is, but on Tonk's side we have the best mother ever, aka Julie Walters.

Posted by: Holly at July 7, 2011 8:39 AM

I've never been there. I can safely say I've NEVER said said "if I take my belt and shoes off, I'll fit right in." I have said "Whoooo!!! The belt and shoes are comin' off!" but that's a whole different discussion. It is kind of nice to see a group of actors just kind of hanging out, looking like slighty messy people.

Posted by: Mrcreosote at July 7, 2011 8:40 AM

And yeah, looks like everyone but Emma got the "casual photo" memo. And hating on adorably ginger Rupert is just not cool.

Posted by: Holly at July 7, 2011 8:41 AM

Thank you, Holly! That was driving me batty (in penance, and because it is a good movie, I will now watch Driving Lessons with Walters and Rupert Gint again).

Posted by: Joseph Finn at July 7, 2011 8:45 AM

Got it: the woman next to Bonnie Wright is Helen Mccrory, who played Narciss Malfoy. (Annoyingly, I just watched her Doctor Who episode, "Vampires of Venice" on Tuesday so I should have known that.)

Posted by: Joseph Finn at July 7, 2011 8:52 AM

Isn't someone conspicuously missing?

And yeah, I think frankly she just looks like she misread the dress code. She looks gorgeous, but out of place. And the others look great, too.

You could start selling your headlines to Perez Hilton, though, if you need a little extra cash!

Posted by: oaktree89 at July 7, 2011 8:53 AM

What Holly said: Emma is overly dressed for this occasion. She probably thought, "Shoot with the cast? Let's put the super cute dress on." Everyone else looks fine with the exception of Grint. I think he's a lovely young man, but he needs to cut that damn hair.

And when did Neville get freaking hot? Holy shit, that's a good looking cat right there.

Posted by: Kala at July 7, 2011 8:58 AM

Oh, Kala. Go to tumblr and type in Matthew Lewis. This is boy is a decade away from being the next Clive Owen (let's hope the voice catches up as well)

Posted by: Holly at July 7, 2011 9:06 AM

For those wondering "Where is Radcliffe?", the answer is New York doing "How to Succeed in Business..." on Broadway. These pics are from yesterday or the day before when they were doing the pre-premiere media circus thing. Either that or he's back in that bathtub with Moaning Myrtle....I always had my suspicions 'bout those two.

Posted by: NateS1973 at July 7, 2011 9:09 AM

The outfit and the shoes are a bit much considering everyone else looks very comfortable in their clothes. She wanted to look glamorous but ended up looking like she was trying too hard. Her shoes look painful.

Posted by: gigi at July 7, 2011 9:14 AM

Yeah...no. Even if they were going for a casual shoot quite a few of the rest just look unkempt. Like it was laundry day and they just mixed and matched whatever was left. Especially the small ginger. Dear god what is wrong with this boy

Posted by: Minto at July 7, 2011 9:26 AM

toned down her beauty with the short hair

So....short hair is de-beautifying?

Feeling awfully superior today, yes?

Posted by: Jay at July 7, 2011 9:32 AM

I think all the young ladies look lovely. Bonnie Wright, though an even worse actress than Emma Watson, always looks glamorous because her hair is so RED and SHINY.

Evanna Lynch seems like a doll. I love her, so I will not comment on her super-hideous jacket but instead focus on her cute shoes.

The top picture made me all teary and my eyes went over every face... then I saw Neville. Oh, Neville. It should have been you, you stone-cold fox.

Posted by: Internet Magpie at July 7, 2011 9:42 AM

So....short hair is de-beautifying?

Feeling awfully superior today, yes?

Don't overreact. All I got from what Minto wrote is that Emma Watson doesn't look as good with short hair as she does with long hair, which is true of some people, while the reverse is true for some others. It's not an insult to all women with short hair.

Posted by: sars at July 7, 2011 9:47 AM

No Alan Rickman either?

Posted by: Zirze at July 7, 2011 9:54 AM

Emma Watson looks good enough to- wait how old is she again?

Posted by: logan at July 7, 2011 9:54 AM

Naaaaw, it was.

And as Holly said, hating on Rupert is not cool.

No love for Domhnall Gleeson around here either! Jeepers.

Posted by: Jay at July 7, 2011 9:54 AM

I suspect it wasn't Watson's choice to dress that way. As the "youth face of Chanel" she gets paid to project a certain image whenever she appears in public. All in all a smart move from her given that she's a rather bad actor so she has already found a way to make lots of money elsewhere.
She also looks like she's had some very subtle work done on her nose.

Posted by: PaddyDog at July 7, 2011 10:06 AM

Emma Watson is another Pajiba favorite I just don't understand the reasoning behind. She's no better looking than Kristen Stewart and her acting ability isn't any better but Stewart is constantly mocked here. And she's kind of a pretentious twat for wearing a cocktail dress to a daytime photo shoot.

Posted by: snapnhiss at July 7, 2011 10:07 AM

too bad Emma is not growing her hair in an attempt to distance herself from Hermione as much as possible. i base dat on the reports of her being taunted in Brown.

too bad coz Emma is prettier wit Hermione's hair.

N oh! She's 21 so this is totally legal.

Posted by: haplo at July 7, 2011 10:10 AM

Thanks Haplo!

21 eh? Can I buy you a drink Emma? :)

Posted by: logan at July 7, 2011 10:14 AM

r u kidding me? you've got david thewlis, jason isaacs, ralph fiennes standing up there! that is a whole buffet of hotness. and the next generation is not looking too bad either...i would not ask for id on any of the phelps boys or rupert or matt lewis. i'd just pour them a drink and hope for the best!

Posted by: blondefire at July 7, 2011 10:30 AM

There's an extra ginger in there that I can't place. Even Movieline didn't tag him in their gallery. In addition to Ron and the twins? WHO IS THAT GINGER?

Posted by: coveredinbees at July 7, 2011 10:36 AM

(In addition to Ginny as well, I mean.)

And I agree that Bonnie Wright and Emma Watson are not very talented in the acting department. And I agree that while short hair might look cute on some ladies, this is not the case with Hermione But, I will say, her legs are mega-hott.

Also, Ron, I ADORE you, but what what what are you doing with your hair? Combing it forward will not hid a receding hairline. Look to Tom Fleton. Own your fivehead.

Posted by: coveredinbees at July 7, 2011 10:38 AM

Oh, nevermind, Jay answered that already. Really? Bill Weasley? Did he have any lines?

Posted by: coveredinbees at July 7, 2011 10:46 AM

So....short hair is de-beautifying?
Feeling awfully superior today, yes?

That depends entirely on the woman itself. Some women can pull it off very well(the most famous example being Linda Evangelista) but yes. In the vast majority of cases short hair is not considered especially beautiful on woman by society's standards

In Emma Watson's case the short hair had an absolutely de-beautifying effect even thought she is of course still a very beautiful girl

And as Holly said, hating on Rupert is not cool.
It's not really hate. Just an observation on his lack of good looks or style. Or ability with a comb

Posted by: Minto at July 7, 2011 11:11 AM

Damn Neville! Good for you dude!

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at July 7, 2011 11:11 AM

Minto, will you be my friend?

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at July 7, 2011 11:12 AM

Don't go proving my point or anything.

Jo, I think Bill had......two lines? Three? He'll be talking a bit more at his house in II I imagine.

Posted by: Jay at July 7, 2011 11:31 AM

Emma looks so adorable I could scream. What a face. And GODDAMN NEVILLE! When did he get so hot?!

Posted by: Julie at July 7, 2011 11:34 AM

Bill is probably my second-favorite Weasley. I can't wait to see more of him in the next movie, being hot all over the place.

Posted by: Internet Magpie at July 7, 2011 11:42 AM

1st Picture, front row, second person from the right. Who is she?

Posted by: Brian at July 7, 2011 11:50 AM

It's weird seeing the kids all grown up, but that's kind of the point.

As for the short hair thing, I disagree. I happen to like short hair on girls (well some girls). It's all about how you pull it off. And the most famous example isn't Linda Evangelista (although good shout). It's Halle Berry.

I keep thinking Rupert Grint will end up with the biggest career of the bunch. He won't be as saddled as Daniel Radcliffe and if he can transition to character work, he should do fine for himself.

Posted by: Fredo at July 7, 2011 11:55 AM

Brian, that's Tonks, Lupien's wife and member of the Order of the Phoenix.

Posted by: Internet Magpie at July 7, 2011 11:55 AM

I adore Emma's short hair! I think she looks far to young with long hair. I'm always jealous of the women who can pull that off. Carey Mulligan I'm looking at you kid. I've always wanted to do it but with my curly hair I'd look like Gene Wilder.

Also hot damn Matthew Lewis. When did that happen. More proof that Neville is a BAMF!

Posted by: E-Money at July 7, 2011 12:06 PM

Actually no. While I agree that Halle Berry looks far far far far better with short with Linda Evangelista her short hair was literally a world news. A true shocking event that shook the fashion world. Yes it's kinda silly but from what I have read this was a huge huge thing back in the day

I keep thinking Rupert Grint will end up with the biggest career of the bunch. He won't be as saddled as Daniel Radcliffe and if he can transition to character work, he should do fine for himself
Frankly I don't really believe that any of them will have much of a career. Emma Watson might coast on her good lucks for a while but overall I don't see them having much success. Not that they need it. They re already insanely reach and only have to work for fun

By the way speaking of actors I am watching the premiere live on youtube now and I was watching the girl who played Luna and while she is a lovely girl am I the only who thinks that Hannah Murray (Cassie from Skins) would have been a much better choice for Luna?

Posted by: Minto at July 7, 2011 12:18 PM

Grint should take Scorsese up on his offer. He nailed the audition without even knowing it. Opportunity is not a lengthy visitor.

Posted by: sars at July 7, 2011 12:22 PM

I love how Ralph Fiennes is just kind of playing it cool on the side. "YOU CAN'T FIND VOLDEMORT! Why am I here, I was in Schindler's List!"

Posted by: Snath at July 7, 2011 12:23 PM

Emma would be the ugly girl in my circle of friends. I do not get the appeal at all. Good skin (makeup) and fake eyelashes make her look average at best. I shutter to think what she looks like without it.

Posted by: stump at July 7, 2011 12:41 PM

I also shudder.

Posted by: stump at July 7, 2011 12:41 PM

Snath made me cackle.

And oh, Emma, I love your hair, but I do feel sorry that now that you're some Big Fashion Person you're forced to wear ridiculous couture outfits to events where everyone else is in jeans and t-shirts. But hey, if it keeps the coming coming in, go the hell for it.

Posted by: Figgy at July 7, 2011 12:50 PM

I'm so happy for you and your beautiful friends, stump. I feel privileged to read your comment because I know I would never get to talk to you and your beautiful friends because apparently just thinking about "average people" makes you shudder.

When did so many twats start coming to Pajiba - this comment section is chock full of them.

Posted by: elgarcon at July 7, 2011 1:07 PM

Elgarcon beat me to it.

Posted by: Julie at July 7, 2011 1:10 PM

Pajiba was always full of twats. Outrage at one thing, while being fully accepting of the writers' misogyny, pandering and objectification.

Dustin insults everyone in that photo in a similar fashion as me but you eat it up.

Posted by: stump at July 7, 2011 1:21 PM

Yeah I blame Rowles for everything too!

Posted by: logan at July 7, 2011 1:25 PM

sars, you may know what you need but to get what you want better see that you keep what you have.

/dorky Sondheim reference

Also, stump, no. You may (might, maybe, possibly, who can say) be gorgeous, but that doesn't make you right.

Posted by: coveredinbees at July 7, 2011 1:29 PM

coveredinbees, I don't know if I'm dorkier for writing it or if you're dorkier for catching it.

Posted by: sars at July 7, 2011 1:32 PM

Just to cheer things up, did anybody asked about the actor that plays Bill Weasley?

http://bit.ly/oiLWhS

bonus trivia: he's Alastor Moody's son. (Brendan Gleeson, that is)

Posted by: Holly at July 7, 2011 1:33 PM

the ginger kid. I mean the poor boy is naturally ugly

And just like that, minto is dead to me.

DEAD TO ME.

Posted by: googergieger at July 7, 2011 2:47 PM

Posted by: MRod at July 7, 2011 3:01 PM

Rupert Grint looks like the biggest sleaze!

Posted by: Camytaru at July 7, 2011 3:09 PM

Am I the only person who likes Emma Watson with short hair? I think she looks better even.

Posted by: John G. at July 7, 2011 3:35 PM

Definitely not, John G. I think she looks adorable, and I wish I could rock that haircut like she does.

Posted by: Figgy at July 7, 2011 3:59 PM

If you care enough about the HP cast to comment on how they look, how do you not know who's in the picture? And the only non-actors are the three davids, who are interviewed hundreds of times.

Posted by: Mila at July 7, 2011 4:08 PM

Love Emma's short hair.

Hate Grint's stupid grease locks.

I'm just surprised that the supporting cast actually look ok. That first film looked like they fished them all out of the ugly sea. They really grew into their faces well.

Posted by: Protoguy at July 7, 2011 4:08 PM

In the vast majority of cases short hair is not considered especially beautiful on woman by society's standards
In Emma Watson's case the short hair had an absolutely de-beautifying effect even thought she is of course still a very beautiful girl

Is that supposed to be an argument? Are you attempting to prove some kind of point there? Society's standards? If you're a guy I hope you are six feet tall with blue eyes and a six pack. I love short hair on women. Love. In fact I would rather have a woman with short hair than one with long hair. I think short hair on a woman is exceptionally beautiful. When I saw that Emma cut her hair she went from being that cute girl in Harry Potter to the hot girl from Harry Potter. Also, anyone that compares her to Stewart from Twilight should get their eyes...and their taste in acting in check.

Now, what coveredinbees said, who is the fucking ginger in the first picture, back row, far left?

Posted by: DeistBrawler at July 7, 2011 4:51 PM

AND...apparently I can't read as that question was answered.

Posted by: DeistBrawler at July 7, 2011 4:52 PM

Emma has done this at all these types of premiere event prior to the movie. She does this for attention and to stand out. Nothing new but people are taking notices and thinking its everyone elses vault. Just emma taking the spotlight.

Posted by: JD at July 7, 2011 6:43 PM

I didn't say "Stewart from Twilight", you nitwit. She's been in quite a few other movies and she's shown a lot more acting talent than a girl who's only claim to fame are the Potter movies.

Posted by: snapnhiss at July 7, 2011 7:12 PM

I don't think I'm looking at the same picture of Emma Watson that some people are. The one I'm seeing has her looking pretty fucking cute with the short hair.

Honestly, though, everybody is wearing an outfit made of NO. The casual outfits are far too casual and Watson's outfit is wwwaaayyyyy too damn dressy. Go back to the dressing room, take 'em all off, start over.

Posted by: stardust at July 7, 2011 7:58 PM

Did I say you said "Stewart from Twilight? No. Not really. No. You nitwit. But the Kristen Stewart you're talking about is the Kristen Stewart that stars in the Twilight movies...right? So therefore you're talking about Kristen Stewart from Twilight? I mean...if I'm wrong in that assumption, please, do correct me.

Now...you did say. "She's no better looking than Kristen Stewart and her acting ability isn't any better but Stewart is constantly mocked here." You think Watson isn't better looking than she with the dead eyes that bites her lip? As for acting ability, could you, would you, look at the two major franchises these ladies have been in and say that Watson isn't a better actor (other films aside)? Now...go ahead and include those films that Stewart has done outside of Twilight and explain "She's been in quite a few other movies and she's shown a lot more acting talent ." Which movies did she display talent in? I'm just curious.

Posted by: DeistBrawler at July 7, 2011 8:08 PM

@ John G: No, you're not the only one. I think she looks fan-fucking-tastic.

Posted by: Kobie at July 7, 2011 11:47 PM

Where is Potter?
How has this become a debate about short hair? Who gives a crap? She is lovely.
Where the hell is Harry??

Posted by: daria at July 8, 2011 8:59 AM

thats loona?? DAMNNNNNNNN

Posted by: Southern at July 8, 2011 9:10 PM

Harry's almost the only one of the "kids" who has work outside of HP. I'm sure he's on Broadway, naked on a horse or sumpin.

Emma's hair is great.

Posted by: Protoguy at July 9, 2011 2:53 AM

Emma looks like a lesbian with short hair. Luna looks much prettier now.

Posted by: Guy at July 9, 2011 9:11 AM

Emma went from fairly pretty girl to stunning beauty -- BECAUSE of the short haircut.

Posted by: Maryscott O'Connor at July 9, 2011 9:22 PM

Re: short hair on girls = no me gusta.
Bitch, I'm fabulous.

Emma Watson's dress.
Who cares? She looks fab and pulls it off effortlessly. She looks like she's actually going to go somewhere afterwards. Honestly, not to be mean, but how many actors in the Harry Potter universe (all fans were informed that it was not a "franchise" earlier this week) can say that they will be doing the same, in any regards of the word?

Matthew Lewis, my body is ready. Take me now.
That is all.
