I Wanna Be an Anarchist

watch sons of anarchy season 3 premiere episodes trailer spoilers.jpg

I caught up with Sons of Anarchy, Season 1 over the past week or so, and am now headlong into Season 2 - after having dropped in partway through last year. I can honestly say that when each episode ends, I can barely stand waiting the thirty seconds it takes to load up the next one. This club is seriously addictive. If you haven’t seen the show yet, you have about six days to get caught up before the Season 3 premiere on September 7th and folks, this one is right up there with Breaking Bad. The cast is phenomenal (Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Charlie Hunnam, Maggie Siff, Dayton Callie, Tommy Flanagan) - guest stars Adam Arkin, Henry Rollins and season three will add Hal Holbrook and Titus Welliver. The stories are alternately hysterical, heartbreaking and violent. You need to watch this show.

Click over to see the video featuring Perlman, Sagal, Hunnam and Siff discuss some of the new season plot points. It’s worth a watch despite the awful background music.

Wait until you get the the season finale, Cindy. Then remember we've had to wait MONTHS.

I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT!!! That's all I can say.

Posted by: MG at September 1, 2010 5:10 PM

I'm picking up season 1 tomorrow and will DVR Season 3 until I'm caught up. I'm wicked late to the party but that's just how I roll.

Season 2's finale: One of the best episodes ever assembled on television.

Posted by: lubeg at September 1, 2010 5:28 PM

Seconding Tyler. If you think it's hard waiting for the next episode to load, think about waiting the better part of a year.

I kept wanting to watch Sons when it first started and never got to it until almost all the way through the 1st season. I turned it on in the middle of Otto smashing a certain bitch's face into a table. I immediately turned it off and decided I needed to start from the beginning.

When I finally borrowed a friends DVR to watch it, I watched the whole season in two sittings. The wait during the off season is painful. Same with Dexter and Breaking Bad.

Tyler, I did see the finale, but I had joined mid-season. I"m just running through them all again to catch what I missed and refresh the rest, because I love it so much. Last night we were up to the episode that ended with

the Clay and Jax jail fight. The end, when they come home and without a word Jax goes one way, Clay and the crew go the other and the girls just stand there - phenomenal.

Paul - Jesopus, I can't stand her.

This show is so addictive. When I discovered it last winter I watched the first two seasons in about 3 days and it's now my favorite tv show.

The season 2 dvd set also has great episode commentaries (as usual), some hilarious deleted scenes, and a roundtable q&a.

Oooh I hope there isn't anything too spoiler-y.

Thanks to the Pajibians for getting me into this show. I proudly watched the last 6 episodes of season 2 until 5 am about a week ago. I literally screamed in shock when the last episode ended. And it's one of those shows that once you're done watching it you cannot wait to watch again. I know, I've been talking about it non-stop to anyone who will listen (and am slowly going to convert my television buddy...)

Can't wait for the new episode next week!! Love these character, the acting is just amazing and the plot is always fucking insane (in a good way).

Definitely going to pick up the first 2 seasons when my bank account is happier.

Watched from day one. God, I can't wait until the boys of SAMCRO are back. I LOOOOOOVE this show.

I have loved Ron Perlman since before "Beauty and the Beast" so I was thrilled when I heard he was doing this show. I managed to get through three episodes before I had to give it up. Way too violent for me. I had my eyes covered a lot of the time. I haven't watched it anymore since the beginning but I'm really happy that Ron Perlman is getting loads of attention for this series. I just wish I could watch.

P.S.: I had the exact same reaction to "The Wire." It sucks to be such a sensitive creature!!

GAH! I bought S1 a few months ago, and I must've been distracted by something shiny shortly after I got home from the Best Buy because I totally forgot that I have it.
I need to get S2 and have a marathon, and TiVo S3.

Ha! I think I see a nickel on the floor...

i watched the first two seasons back to back and it was exactly that--impatient for the moments when an episode would change over

******** SPOILERS ***********

Last seasons finale might be the worst season finale of any show that I have ever seen.

Let's see.....

1. The business dude escapes a point blank execution attempt by multiple gunman in his Mercedes. Of course none of this is shown except for him driving away.

2. He ditches said Mercedes in full view of anyone driving by the convenience store.(guess an alleyway would have taken too long?)

3. Some horribly contrived baby stealing bit. Yeah Jax has shown all of about 20 minutes of interest in the baby in the past 2 seasons. Where are my tissues?

4. Let's go in the store and blow this guy away right now. It'll take 10 seconds. NO WAIT! Phone call! We gotta go RIGHT NOW! GRRRRR until next time bad guy!

What's that rule about suspension of disbelief? I'll give you 1 or 2, maybe even 3. They asked for about 6.

Sadly I enjoyed the entire series until that finale. My eyes rolled so far back in my head I don't think it's even possible for me to continue watching.

Just downloaded the EPs for both seasons. This show has THE best music on television.

Posted by: trippdup at September 2, 2010 12:24 AM

Oh look, season fucking 2 finally came out on DVD. I thought for sure they'd wait until season 4 started to release it. Having missed the entire last season, I'll be quite surprised if I can even follow what's going on. What could possibly have been the reason for holding out so long releasing that shit?!? Its not as if they were playing reruns.

Cindy, if you want to be an anarchist, just stop bathing, cut your t shirts up (then sew them back together with dental floss) and listen to bands with zero fucking talent. Oh, and develop a disproportional sense of entitlement, preferably expressed towards passersby who won't give you money for a pack of cigs.

Not that I have any experience with this *cough, ahem*

Craig, I agree, the ssn 2 finale pissed me off. There's no reason they couldn't have ***SPOILER***
grabbed number one Nazi boy and offed him before going to Jax and really, there's no reason they WOULDN'T have. The kidnapping thing is contrived and doesn't really make a whole lot of sense from the Irishman's viewpoint. He'd me more justified killing Jax as revenge for his son while kidnapping Abel does nothing but guarantee he'll be hunted down.

All that said though, I still love this show. I have ssn 2 on DVR but I still went out and bought it last night so I can have every bit of extra possible.

Posted by: Paul at September 2, 2010 9:59 AM

Oh, for anyone that hasn't heard, Mark Boone Jr, who plays Bobby Elvis on the show got arrested for battery on an officer. Must have been too in character.

Posted by: Paul at September 2, 2010 10:04 AM

I just watched the first disc of season 1 this week and I am HOOKED. I never knew Katey Sagal could act...I just always knew her as Peg Bundy. I'm actually a Ron Perlman...he is the best actor at roles in heavy-makeup/costume alive. He's good out of the makeup too. And Charlie Hunnam...Christ. That boy is beautiful.

Anything Henry Rollins even TOUCHES is gold, forever.

But in all seriousness, this show is wonderful. ...And if it were to get mysteriously canceled (no chance so far, thank god), it would merely confirm my belief that humanity is doomed, and that Two and a Half Men is The Antichrist.

Posted by: Daft Steampunk at September 3, 2010 3:56 AM

gag reel ssn 2:

CHIEF UNSER looks at his desk and sees A.J. WESTON using the telephone.

UNSER: Why is Henry Rollins using my fucking phone?

I literally cried out loud in laughter.
