I Don't Care How Much You Like Seth Rogen or Danny McBride, This is Wrong

It’s for a short film set to be released at Sundance, and it is Adam Yauch approved, and also features Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, and Jack Black. But good God, folks, the thought of these three playing the Beastie Boys hurts my soul a little. It’s for a documentary on the making of the video, “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)” called “Fight For Your Right Revisited.” It’s even directed by Adam Yauch and I’m sure it’s well-intentioned and appropriately reverent, but still: Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. It just doesn’t feel right.

This is more like it:

I thought Yauch was fighting salivary gland cancer. I guess he's better.

I'm sick of that whole crew they are way too convinced of their own comedic genius.

Oh man my Beastie Boys hate
dates back to nineteen eighty-EIGHT

To Rogen and his boyz:
You're two decades fuckin' LATE!

Whatever. Fight for your rightbparty matters? No.

"Jeff",

I have given up on your right to use a period.

I don't know what "Jeff" you're referring to, the 'jeff' I know doesn't have a shift key.

I don't know what "Jeff" you guys are referring to, but the "Jeff" I know draws odd, misplaced, yet very specific mental lines in the sand. He'll take all the Human Centipede, vagina dentata, and news that Rainbow Killer is still getting work that you can throw at him and he won't dream of moving Pajiba out of his "Favorites" folder. But he won't stand for a short, offensive-to-no-one-on-Earth post lamenting a crappy send-up of a legendary rap group done by questionably funny people.

That's the "Jeff" I know.

Who are the Beastie Boys?

And I thought I didn't care about "The Doors" movie.

Posted by: BWeaves at December 10, 2010 9:21 AM

I don’t know which “Jeff” you’re referring to, Kballs, but the Jeff I know used to be my first college roommate, “Shawn”, who after a semester-long orgy of Beastie Boys, alcohol, and lacrosse, failed out of college.
You could kick his mother in the teeth and he wouldn’t bat an eyelash, but say something negative about the Beastie Boys, and he’d throw the world’s biggest tantrum.

I like their music when they just make music, but I'm totally on-board with B-Slim.
