Coming Soon to HBO / Dustin Rowles

Thomas Jane has more than 40 credits to his name now, some good (Stander), most bad (Dreamcatcher, Mutant Chronicles), and yet barely 10 percent of America could probably identify him. He just hasn’t been able to break through. The new HBO show, “Hung,” may actually go a long way toward helping.

Jane stars as a high-school teacher strapped for cash. He decides he wants to make a lot of money, but is having problems figuring out what marketable assets he might have. Then he figures it out: Apparently, he’s got an immense dick.

The trailer doesn’t look overly promising, but it does come from Alexander Payne (Election, Sideways). Jane Adams and Anne Heche co-star. It begins June 28th, airing right after True Blood. I think it’s at least worth a shot.

It would be nice to see something decent on HBO. When Tru Blood is your main attraction, you have motherfucking problems.

I do like Jane Adams, but she's nonetheless always as uplifting a presence as Jennifer Jason Leigh.

This sounds like it might be fun, as long as it doesn't stray into Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo humour territiory. But I have has say male prostitutes don't appear on screens half as much as female ones so this might work.

He was great in The Sweetest Thing! And as Mickey Mantle in 61. I hope he gets some of the credit he deserves through this show.

I'm stuck in DVD land, so I still think HBO is awesome. Deadwood, Carnivale, Eastbound and Down, Extras, Sopranos, all shows I need to either start or finish, all shows that I've heard great things about but haven't seen yet.

This could be good.

I went to Wootton high school with Jane, back when he was known as Tom Elliot and had bleach blonde hair and an ego and misgynistic streak 8 miles wide. he was a smarmy, sneering prima donna who seemed to think that high school existed soley for him to fuck as many chicks as possible, the fact that they may not have been willing to do so was immaterial for him. He was vaguely involved in the drama club, appearing in only one production and then only in one sketch, but that didn't stop him from thinking he was the King Shit of the Drama Club. Around that time, word was that he was going to be on a Broadway show, which of course never materialized.

He is filth, plain and simple.
