Warner Brothers is now developing a live-action/CGI hybrid Bugs Bunny movie. And in other news: Fuck you, WB. (Deadline)
So, they’re making a Terminator 3000 movie, a $70 million 3D-animated feature based on the characters and storyline of the franchise. And least it’s not another sequel? (Moviehole)
It’s been confirmed now that The Normal Heart a movie starring Mark Ruffalo about the early days of AIDS, will be directed by Ryan Murphy. That’s a shame, too. I like Ruffalo. It’s good subject material. And from what I’ve seen of him as a director, Ryan Murphy is not very good. I think he’s an ideas man, and not so good with the details. (MTV)
Here’s an interesting piece on Christopher Nolan, and how he’s not a genius as a director; he’s just a really good artist of plot. And as a plot guy, I think that’s what I find so compelling about him. (H/T Arib) (Slant)
If you’re curious, they’ve figured out where the breaking point between Deathly Hallows I and Deathly Hallows II will take place. It’s kind of spoilerish, so don’t click if you don’t want to know. (Filmonic)
Craig Clevenger, who wrote The Contortionist’s Handbook, which will be made into a film starring Channing Tatum, has seen the script. He’s pissed. He calls it a “Hollywood goatfuck.” I don’t think he’s going to be doing a lot of pre-release publicity for the flick. (FilmDrunk)
For those who have no intention of seeing The Other Guys (you should: It’s funny), you can still watch the spectacular closing credits, which provide a little “mini-seminar on the financial chicanery that’s fattened Wall Streeters’ and CEOs’ bonus checks in recent years while impoverishing the rest of us.” It also features a killer Rage Against the Machine tune. (Moviefone)
Ben Affleck has replaced Christian Bale on Terrence Malick’s next movie, Tree of Life. His co-star will be Rachel Weisz. (The Wrap)
For the curious, Paul Reubens breaks his silence about the masturbation incident, claiming it wasn’t him, and that … I love this … he was once trapped on a plane where they were showing his E! True Hollywood Story. Holy awkward. (Fox)
An in an unrelated story, the thing about Christina Hendricks is: She’s a helluva gorgeous woman on TV, but there’s rarely many good pictures of her online (I’ve been called out on several occasions for choosing bad pictures of her — there’s just not a huge selection folks, and I can’t help it if they all feature the boob-smush). That changes now that she will grace the cover of GQ magazine. Here’s a sample (H/T @scottweinberg). You’re welcome:
Jeffrey Dean Morgan — Javier Bardem’s doppelganger — is set to star in The Courier, an action film scripted by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, about “a courier who has taken on improbable missions and never missed a drop.” (Deadline)
A final friendly reminder: As voted on by our readers, both “squee” and “teh” are no longer allowed in the comments section. I noticed a few comments with those in them in the junk filter here recently.

I would retire to the boudoir but I am unable to leave my desk.

So, The Transporter?

1. Unfortunately, that's the only good photo of CH from that photo shoot. The rest have her showing too much forehead, and the wrong color makeup and lipstick. On the other hand, I'd go gay for that bourdoir shot. It's gorgeous.
2. Spoilers for Harry Potter? Are you kidding me? Everyone who cares read the book 2 seconds after it was released and already knows the book by heart. I think they're breaking it in a good place. They better do better CGI with Dobby this time.

Aw fuck, JakesAlterEgo beat me to it. But WTH, I'll write what I was going to write anyway, and ya'll can judge:
He must get rides from "The Transporter."

That blue filter is kind of creeping me out. It's reminding me of two things: the promo shots from that Lindsay Lohan stripper movie and the morgue. Something every woman wants to be affiliated with!

Actually The Fleck is replacing Bale in Malick’s new Untitled movie not Tree of Life which has been done filming for awhile

Oh, I'm going to the special hell...

I’ve never seen a picture of Christina Hendricks that I’d call “bad.” Her performance in that clip from “Undressed” is another story.

Look I'm thrilled that all couriers are consumate pros who are suave and skillful, driving fantastic cars and generally being awesome, but can't we give a little love to standard UPS or Fedex drivers?-those are the guys who generally deliver our QVC packages, baked goods from loved ones and of course our inflatable unicorns. They need an action movie. Or at least a witty USA series.

Didn't WB already make a bunch of those, and they were all equally turdlicious? Whyyyy do they keep trying?
@Figgy: It also had Brenden Frasier in it. if that says anything about how much Hollywood sucks.

Thinking Christina Hendricks is hot is the new thinking weezer sucks which replaced calling Coldplay whiny.
Wait until she has a baby with that malien (her half man/half alien spouse). Let's see what you think after her tits are ruined and she's holding a screaming "Ginger" on her hip.
Posted by: Pithy"Name" at August 13, 2010 11:52 AM
She looks really, really tense in the header picture, like she's terrified and about to start crying (and, yeah, also a blue corpse. Do not throw blue light at a pale girl in front of a white curtain, you hacks!) and it's making me really tense.
Images of Christina Hendricks are never unrelated to masturbation.

This is what happens when you get a film site run by people with no knowledge of American theater. The Normal Heart is the seminal work about the AIDS crisis in NYC in the early 80's - back when Reagan and Koch refused to even say the word "AIDS" - written by playwright and activist Larry Kramer. Kramer was one of the people who founded ACT-UP - and was later kicked out because he was too militant.

So no dragon in this year's HP, darn.
In the last pic CH looks just like Evan Rachel Wood in True Blood, only, ya know, with boobs.

I believe we are witnessing the birth of a typecast.

Though I now see the Javier Bardem resemblance, I had thought Jeffrey Dean Morgan looked exactly like some other actor. Even looking at photos now, though, I can't for the life of me remember who that was.

Withnials >> I'm struggling to see why the snark at Pajiba's expense was necessary in your comment. Why not just share your information politely instead of prefacing it with your snide "This is what happens when," oh almighty superior one with your infinite knowledge of theater?

Hate to break up the Hendricks strip show, don't worry, I'm sure there will be another one at 6:15...didn't she used to be an actress? That can't be right, I vow to stop taking so much De Quincey with my Benadryl...for a while. It just seemed apt to post here.
Moss and Armisen have been separated since May and are now announcing it offiially? That's five months from wedding to split, holy frijoles, I feel bad for them. I know she's a Scientologist (wish I didn't), I won't speculate, that's not nice. Five months, that's a shame. I'm sure everyone already knows this.

Christina Hendricks ... I'll be in my bunk.
Posted by: Darcy at August 13, 2010 8:36 PM
@DarthCorleone - I was also going to comment back to Withnials, but it was to say that lately this site seems to have a major blind spot for anything before 1990 not on Nickelodeon, so theater knowledge may have nothing to do with it.
Jo 'Mama' Besser,
I hadn't yet heard about their split. That is a shame, but Scientology does have a reputation for meddling in relationships if members can't convert their spouses.
Too bad Joss Whedon couldn't get the Terminator franchise after his offer of ten thousand dollars. "Can you say... musical? Well don't. Even I know that's an awful idea."
