The Devil Is In The Details: Hi-Res Images From The Dark Knight Rises To Obsess Over (And A New Trailer)

Leading up to the release of the full theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. published in Empire magazine a few images excerpted from that trailer. After the trailer released last week, hi-res versions of some of those images finally made their way online — one in incredibly high detail — for those who of us don’t like to actually go outside to a bookstore or magazine stand to gaze longingly upon. I admit, the trailer itself is more exciting, but these are still pretty radass. I especially enjoy Batman and his gun. Where does he get all those wonderful toys, indeed?

Oh, and as for that new trailer, I have to admit that was a bit of a misdirect. A holiday prank, if you will? In the spirit of that master of cinematic misdirection, Christopher Nolan? Anyway, the trailer is a shot-for-shot Sweded remake of The Dark Knight Rises, and it’s pure, unadulterated cynicism-crushing fun. Consider it a belated Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/Life Day present from me to you:
Rob Payne also writes the indie comic The Unstoppable Force, tweets on the Twitter @RobOfWar, and his ware can be purchased here (if you’re into that sort of thing). He really just wanted an excuse to share that sweded trailer.

great. so I've been bothering TK for nothing when the piece for the new trailer was already done by DR.
I might as well get it off my chest now before it starts to fester.
Anne Hathaway was underwhelming as predicted. And who's the genius who decided to show her off in something else besides a catsuit? Because that's what we've been waiting to see, right? Catwoman in a dress. In all THREE shots of her!
The football field CGI blows. I thought with all the money TDK made, they could afford to blow up a real football field.
Bane is not bigger, as in taller, than Bats (Hardy is shorter than Bale) and I expected them to give him the Lycan leg lifts from Underworld or something to make him look really scary.
And the Batwing looks...you know, I'm gonna reserve judgment til I see more of it in action.
