“I will go to my grave in a state of abject endless fascination that we all have the capacity to become emotionally involved with a personality that doesn’t exist.”
― Berkeley Breathed

The results for the Pajiba Favorite Five are all tallied and here’s a list of how everything played out in the category of books.

The Top 20 are listed, along with the characters you voted for so you can look out for them when you read. Keep scrolling down and you’ll find a compendium of all of the books belonging to characters who didn’t make the top 20. Keep in mind, for every name you see, at least one of our fellow Pajibans listed that character among their top five in any medium, so they might be worth a look. I wonder how many of those one-shot books will find a new following for next year’s Pajiaba Favorite Five?

Note: If someone specified something like “Emma, but from the book, not the movie” then I tallied that in the book category. If someone didn’t specify a medium, I defaulted back to the earliest introductory medium for the character. So for example, if someone says “Batman” it would default to the comic book version. If someone says “Batman from Batman Begins” it would tally in the movie category. If someone said “Anakin Skywalker” and meant “from the animated series The Clone Wars” but didn’t specify that, then I’d tally it as a movie and default back to the Star Wars series. Accordingly, there will be mistakes. Please be a sport and forgive me my trespasses.

The top choices aren’t much of a surprise, frankly. How many of these have you read?
