Guns in the Sky

Director/producer/effects wizards Colin and Greg Strause have released a couple of images from their upcoming feature Skyline. The poster (header) is pretty cool; the tagline “Don’t Look Up,” not so much. But I’m a sucker for anything alien creepy, and this seems to fit the bill.

Skyline follows a group of friends awakened after a late night party by an eerie, bright light. Outside, people are being drawn to the light and sucked up into the sky. You can get a visual and some sound effects on that here or if that’s too much work for a Friday, just check out this image:

The friends have to figure out how to save humanity from being destroyed, disappearing or ground up as cloud food and rained back upon them (that one’s a guess). Hmm, I wonder how they do that while staying inside? Let’s place bets on creating an alien ear-piercing sound like a dog whistle, that sends them scurrying back to their home planet.

Skyline stars Eric Balfour, Donald Faison, Scottie Thompson and Crystal Reed and opens November 12, 2010.

wow, with the obscure INXS reference. Impressive.

Donald Faison? So, is this a try at playing against type, or is Turk going to be the jive-talkin' sidekick with a penchant for stuffed dogs and saucy Latina nurses?

Slim Whitman.

"Obscure"? I sure hope not.

The "Turk Dance" CAN and will save humanity.

They will figure out a way to deliver a virus using an I-Pad with the intent to transmit it to the alien computer. Unfortunately for them the I-Pad has no Bluetooth file transfer support. The whole group gets captured and become anal probe receptacles.

The End.

Hmm, so we'll look at clouds from both sides now?

It seemed strange to me that it wasn't Steven posting this and then I realized Pajiba has been totally took over by interns lately. What happened to everybody?

Simple system people!!!!!
Leave the major fucking cities!!!!
I have never seen Ireland being attacked in any major action movies.
That surely means that Ireland will never be attacked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand. The picture looks like a still from a video game...is this a video game?

Ireland: were people are never attacked by aliens

Posted by: lol at August 7, 2010 5:35 AM

Skyline stars Eric Balfour

So, it's a bad SyFy movie, then?

Posted by: MM at August 7, 2010 3:13 PM

It's probably got an ironic ending. e.g. the aliens are sucking the humans up to save them from some other horrible fate. the 'Heroes' defeat the aliens, get the people back and then horrible fate ensues.

There was a zombie movie like that from Australia a few years back. "Undead" 2003
