If you already smoke dope, I think you'll like this news. If you don't already smoke dope, you might want to start if you like this news. (Not that I'm encouraging anyone to partake in any illegal activities. After all, who knows what I really mean by "dope"? Don't ask me!) Now that we've gotten that all cleared up, let's talk about FX and their brilliant idea to order this pilot. Apparently there's an Australian comedy about a guy and his dog - who is actually a dude in a dog costume with a drawn-on nose. This cult hit is "peppered with profanity, full-frontal nudity and jokes about raping the neighbor's cat." So I'm sure you can see how well the Americanized version will work; it will end up with cleaner language, no nudity and probably no real jokes either. What will we be left with? A dude in a dog suit. So like I said, pick your poison.
Here's a snippet of the original, which can currently be seen on the Independent Film Channel:
The FX version will be adapted, written and executive produced by David Zuckerman (Family Guy). Good luck with that, dude.
