Say what you want about Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story -- I hate it and love it and love to hate it when I don't hate myself for loving it -- but FX does a remarkable job of marketing it. I haven't seen a single second of actual footage from the second season -- set in an asylum during the 1960s -- but I find myself crazy excited about it based only on the four 15-second teasers and these teaser posters, which echo the imagery of the teasers.

We can't glean too much from the teasers except that there will be some messed up nuns involved. Also, crazy people. Of course, the cast is even more promising than the promos: It includes returning cast members Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe, as well as new additions Franka Potente, Adam Levine, Charming Potato's wife Jenna Dewan, Clea DuVall, Chloe Sevigny, Joseph Fiennes and James Cromwell.

This show has done a brilliant job of advertising! It’s incredible
that the teasers are so short, yet they still manage to be terrifying and leave
me wanting more. A co-worker at Dish and I have been obsessed with all of the
clues revealed, trying to come up with theories for what they could mean. I am counting the days until I get to watch this on my Hopper. I am so glad that it has 2,000 hours of recording space especially with all of my favorite shows soon
returning. With so many teasers revealed, I really hope that a full trailer is
on the way. Although I love the teasers, it would be exciting to see the characters in action.

Come on, Lucy, as an obvious (though fairly eloquent) spambot, you could at least do us the favor of using bad grammar and incomprehensible language.

  • Viking

What creeps me out the most is the nun cutting her eyes to the camera in the blue shirt trailer. Like "I see you, you are next". Next for what I don't want to know. Second place goes to the screaming rose. They are all creepy to me though.

  • MissAmynae

I'll freely admit i jumped out of my chair and left the room when those eyes shifted. I believe the words were "aw HELL no." Then I came back and watched it 3 more times.

  • Kip Hackman

So it took me a few second to notice, but she has her hands clasped seemingly in prayer in the white-paint-vagina-tub. How nice.

Creepy nuns, insane asylum, homage to The Exorcist with the stair walk...

  • Did Kristen Bauer van Straten pose for that poster? Because that sure looks like her pretty mouth.

  • hapl0

    I can see that.

    IS IT OCTOBER YET?!?!?!??!?!

    I KNOW RIGHT!?!?!?!?!?!

The posters are great, they do a good job marketing the show. But even the most amazing posters in the world won't get me back to that show. I started off loving it, quickly grew to hate it, and have been burned by too many Murphy shows in the past.

  • branded_redux

    Make some room, Weeping Angels...

  • See, I wasn't blown away by the teasers this year. The posters are much more effective with that kind of imagery. The teasers were just so muted and, dare I say, cliche in content for this genre.

I am excited to see Ryan Murphy bring us some sisters of satan/invasive devil action. How could he not? He's Ryan Murphy. He has no restraint and he lives off of subverting cliches. It's an asylum staffed by nuns. Someone is getting poked by the devil.

  • That first pic. I'm not sleeping tonight.

  • hapl0

I can't decide between the baby got back poster and the WTF?....Oohhh...Eeee third poster.

  • Ley

" I hate it and love it and love to hate it when I don’t hate myself for loving it"
    My God, how eloquent.

I was already on board with it, once they added "Asylum". It fits so well with a Ryan Murphy show.

And lastly: Dat ass on second picture.

  • Bert_McGurt

Me too. That nun's got some hustle in her bustle. Some rabbit in her habit. Or as our British friends might say - some loot in her boot.

  • Snath

  • What's wrong with me that I also noticed the impressive curves on a nun carrying buckets of offal?
