You're Not So Pretty Now, Are You, Stubbles?

Yesterday saw the unveiling of a couple of photos from the set taken by spy photographers. I have no idea what the protocol is for posting these images, but I’m going to err on the side of ohmygod look at the size of that man’s forehead.

That, folks, is Peter Sarsgaard under the giant forehead, as he appears to be doing his best Eric Stoltz as the Mask impression in his role as villain Hector Hammond in Green Lantern. I wouldn’t read too much into the photo, though. After all, this is a movie where Ryan Reynolds’ entire costume will be a CGI effect. Maybe they’ve fuglied up Peter Sarsgaard as a challenge to see if they can get his normal face back in post-production CGI. Or, maybe Hector Hammond’s supervillan powers reside in that fivehead.

Elsewhere, in Conan the Barbarian remake news, we got our first (grainy) images from the set of the new Conan, “Stargate: Atlantis” star Jason Momoa. Best I can tell from the photos is that Conan’s ripped, he has long hair, wears a skirt, and has something of an apathetic attitude and/or an ability to sleep on a horse.

Yep.

Look at me, now look at your man, now back to me...

I had no idea that the Green Lantern villain was Roy 'Rocky' Dennis.

I had no idea that the Green Lantern villain was Roy 'Rocky' Dennis.

HAHA! In that case, I can't wait for "Hector, Green Lantern sometimes does the wrong things...but for the right reasons."

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Suck it, Sarsgaard! How long did they make you sit in that fucking chair to look like something Atrocitus shat out? HAHAHA!

I have absolutely no faith in whats his name pulling off the Conan movie. Maybe I am just hung up on the idea of Conan being a teutonic barbarian rather than a soft WWF refugee look alike.

Oh hai, pecs!

There is something so gloriously hot about a man in a skirt. And pecs.

If the Lantern's nemesis is Rocky Dennis, he has a much, much bigger problem.

Namely, the soul-sucking, mind-warping, toil-and-trouble, immortal, encased-in-superhard-plastic she-witch from another dimension that inevitably accompanies Rocky Dennis.

Cher.

No amount of abs shall defeat her.

Fucking Cher.

I like Momoa. He was one of the few things on Stargate: Atlantis that was remotely wathcable.

As for Beavis there, I hope he gets his TV back

Hammond's powers do come from having a really really big brain/head.

Seeing that tenhead all I can think about is, "I found a dead cat on the side of the road, so I took it home and put some honey on it, and then I cooked it and then I ate it. Is that bad? Too-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo, too-doo-doo..."

Huh. I was kinda hoping they'd go for the ridiculous 500-lb. cranium that Hammond has in the comics. It's just so over the top it makes me giggle every time. Like a beach ball with tiny little pipe cleaner arms and legs. That drools. And con control you with its MIND.

@ Peanut: Marcus Nispel directs. The movie will suck regardless how good or bad Momoa is.

@Sofia - you just became my favourite person ever (for today) for that reference.
