Hey Rowles, I see your old friend Whitney Bulger got caught out in California yesterday. I remember yous talking about him in a post either earlier this year or late last year. You were the first person I thought about after he got caught. Remember Rowles, keep yous mouth shut and don't be no rat.

Pookie! You remembered! Yes, I once worked briefly for an attorney who had a client who was framed for murder by Bulger and the Winter Hill Gang. The client (Joseph Salvati) said that Bulger and a few others (Stephen Flemmi, Ronald Barboza) were also FBI Informants. I thought the client was a nutcase, and the attorney doubly so for believing him. I was so wrong. The client ended up getting a pardon from the governor and $102 million after it was revealed (in part through the attorney's efforts) that they were, indeed, working for the FBI, who were also helping the Winter Hill Gang cover up murders.

That is so cute.

The Pookie-and-Dustin thing. Though Freeman does make an adorable hobbit.

Jeez AvB, what do you think I just come here to make mischief? I read everything Rowles write, he's a very interesting guy.

Posted by: Pookie at June 23, 2011 10:58 AM

And here I thought I could not love Freeman more. I was not expecting to discover a pointy ear fetish.

Posted by: Julie at June 23, 2011 10:58 AM

I'm with Julie. The ears are working for me. Or maybe it's just that Freeman makes everything better, even Hobbit costumes.

Posted by: MelBivDevoe at June 23, 2011 11:15 AM

Yeah, the pointy ears and sideburns are doing it for me, too.

I guess I won't complain that Bilbo was supposed to be 50 and fat. Of course so was Frodo, but I still drool over Elija Wood.

Speaking of, anyone watching Wilfred tonight?

"Interesting" Pookie? Sounds like veiled lust to me.

I am BWeaves.

Pookie, I always knew you were more than met the interwebs.

Posted by: Cindy at June 23, 2011 11:39 AM

PERFECT. Freeman was born to play that part. Also check out blurry Richard Armitage in the background in full dwarf makeup. Only he could make a dwarf look super hot. Rawr.

Posted by: Figgy at June 23, 2011 11:40 AM

OK maybe not. He kinda looks like a short Khal Drogo.

"Interesting" as in knowledgeable and entertaining, not as in I want to take him to the Regal Beagle for drinks.

Posted by: Pookie at June 23, 2011 11:41 AM

Rowles *is* a very interesting guy. I'd take him to the Regal Beagle, but I'm afraid Mr. Furley his wife would kick my ass.

I'm just super happy you're back, Pookie.

If I ever have a house custom built I'm putting in a round door.

Posted by: logan at June 23, 2011 12:00 PM

Pookie has a round rear entrace to his house, but only Dustin is allowed to come in that way.

Posted by: superasente at June 23, 2011 12:29 PM

*this is me exploding in a shower of glee*

Posted by: Aislinn at June 23, 2011 12:32 PM

What is this I'm hearing (reading), Pookie? I thought I was your one and only?!

My day is ruined. Ruined, I tells ya.

Is Dudley Moore back from the dead?

Joseph Barboza and Vincent Flemmi, brother of Whitey's partner Steve "The Rifleman" Flemmi killed a small time hood named Teddy Deegan. Steve Flemmi, who was an FBI informant at the time had Salvati, Peter Limone, Henry Tameleo and Louis Greco framed to keep the heat off of his brother. The Boston FBI office was well aware of the real murderers but let the 5 innocent men go to jail for 30 years. It was through the efforts of a Boston tv reporter Dan Rea who kept the story alive. This was one of the few things Whitey wasn't involved in since he had only been released from jail in 65 and didn't become prominent in Boston 's criminal enterprises until the early 70's.

I've lived in the Boston area my whole life. Whitey, Stevie, Howie, Winter Hill, Southie, Barboza, the Irish gang wars.....bedtime stories around these parts.
