Minor plot details abound, so spoilers, although we’ve excised the narrative conclusions from Christopher McQuarrie’s script, loosely based on the 1980’s mini-series by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller that helped to establish Wolverine.

I can hardly wait to see all the Asian stereotyping that will make up 90% of the script.

Frank Sinatra: Japan’s answer to Frank Sinatra...

Frank Sinatra is everyone's answer to Frank Sinatra.

Jeebus, this sounds a lot like an extended version of the first half of Batman Begins. Another superhero traveling to Asia in order to learn more about himself? Lame.

Shingen? Cocksuckaaaaa!

Posted by: Paultera at October 28, 2010 5:42 PM

i believe in Darren Aronofski

Posted by: caro at October 28, 2010 5:47 PM

Since when does Wolverine require a fucking bodyguard? That, right there, is some bullshit.

Posted by: admin at October 28, 2010 6:24 PM

are you fucking kidding me? this sounds like the worst movie plot EVER. im a fan of the comics, and i like the origins stories behind the x-men, especially wolverine. but by god. WHY DO WE NEED TO SEE THEM ON THE BIG SCREEN? what is the movie gonna focus around? him meditating and learning how to use a katana? you know what, you hollywood exec. bastards, get off the money train with this franchise. its fucking over. you know who is insanely awesome ( that actually uses katanas)???? DEADPOOL. make the deadpool movie already. the only shining light that can save this film is darren aronofsky. i dont think he'll win anything for black swan, but most certainly be nominated (oscar wise). but if this movie fails, hollywoods gonna dump the whole mess on his lap. also if this movie has the sci-fi channel worthy special effects of the last one, im going to claw my eyes out.

@admin, i know right? we already know that a adamantiums bullets to the skull dont kill him. the only real threat to wolverine is magneto i believe, or anyone whos insanely good enough with a sword to behead him. and i doubt anyone is as powerful as the Barakapool from the end of the first wolverine movie.

Posted by: Taylor Kozakar at October 28, 2010 7:59 PM

Okay, people. Let us remember that the last time, they got Cyclops as a teenager. FOR NO FUCKING REASON. I am thanking Godtopus that they even bothered to keep the names straight.

Does this mean I will watch it? No, because there is still plenty of time to fuck it up. But I am not doom-and-gloom YET.

Jeebus, this sounds a lot like an extended version of the first half of Batman Begins. Another superhero traveling to Asia in order to learn more about himself? Lame.

Uh, is that supposed to be serious? Because I don't like wasting my nerd rage. I have so little rage to use.

Yeah, I have no interest in whatever the hell that article says. I just clicked for that back-tacular picture. And there went 10 minutes of my life. You should do all Wolverine News pictoral-style in the future. Because the point of the movie is obviously not the plot.

Posted by: esme at October 28, 2010 8:35 PM

cease and desist order? wow. Fox, nobody cares about the characters or plot to this stupid movie. this movie is going to be pure trash. stop pretending like holding back information will make it less predictable. anyone who has a brain stem and has read some of the wolverine solo comics wont really be surprised (unless they come up with pure bullshit, like the Barakpool), and anyone else wont care enough to be surprised. wolverine wont die, hell probably lose another woman with whom he falls for, and bad people/mutants will die. such a massive failure

Posted by: Taylor Kozakar at October 28, 2010 9:50 PM

Aww, man, now I can't read what it said.

Posted by: Uda at October 28, 2010 9:50 PM

Well, damn. I clicked too late. Stupid FOX legal department.

Posted by: calliope1975 at October 28, 2010 9:51 PM

I'm too late too. I'll try to be useful though.

Taylor Kozakar, I think the only thing that can KILL Wolvie - like dunzo - is a Sentinel laser blasting away every single fleshy molecule off of his adamantium skeleton. The skeleton will be okay.

As we know from the Asgardian Wars (unless I'm losing my mojo, harhar) Wolvie was able to renew, like, all awesome things with just a drop of his blood?

...

Okay, I just went to check my memory by referring to the issue...and it is gone. Sombuddy gon' die.

This thread has brought me nothing but misery.

@replica
really? i thought it left him immobilized, or constantly near death until he got back to normal?

Posted by: Taylor Kozakar at October 28, 2010 11:20 PM

Dear Fox,

Were these minor plot details so threatening to your company? They were, after all, very clearly based in well-known Wolverine comics and revealed months ago to be the basis of the film. A cease and desist order as a first and last measure is an overblown response to a media blog posting this information. Perhaps contacting the editor/owner of the site and asking him to remove the offending content could have been more effective and appropriate? Dustin is a reasonable man who tries to please everyone and usually responds to courteous discourse.

Now your marketing team is going to have convince me that this film is phenomenal to get me interested in seeing it at all. Preying on a website offering your free publicity without spoiling anything does not improve your standing as an entertainment company in my eyes. I will remember this and think twice about supporting your films. This action gives me the impression that you want your potential audience to know nothing about what they will see before you release a film. I just hope that websites like IMDB are sent the same request to withhold all information on this film so you can prove you aren't just preying on little websites that can't possibly fight back.

No one was going to skip out on the film because they knew what characters appeared and in what context. Now they might refuse to see it at all because of your actions here.

Posted by: Robert at October 28, 2010 11:42 PM

Yeah, I'm less likely to bother going to see the film because your legal department is acting like a bunch of dicks. It would probably have been a shitty film anyway, but hey, it's Wolverine and I'm interested enough to make a bit of effort. But this bullshit? Fuck it, I'll wait till Deadpool, or just watch X2 again.

Posted by: Ender at October 29, 2010 5:57 AM

@ Ender

i cant fucking wait until the deadpool movie. i want him to shoot people all stylish and be like "i hear bullets taste like chicken" or "i love me some guns!" or umm he just goes " BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG" or when he guts someone with his swords "LA LA LALA, ITS GUTTIN TIME" or like dropkick someone into another state and say " yippie kay yay motherfucker" or throw a grenade an be like "pineapple". and of course, hes gonna break the 4th wall, hopefully atleast 28910292925791827124765 times. it could be an awesome movie, maybe the only comic book movie thats worthy of a sequel outside of batman, superman, spider man, iron man, and a few others. no more wolverine movies.

Posted by: Taylor Kozakar at October 29, 2010 6:47 AM

also, they should make a movie with all the characters from wolverine, and title it Deadpool: and His Inferior Friends. because in the end, deadpool could kick captain america in the knuts, fart on wolverines face, or shank spider man with a rusty kitchen knife, and he would still be number 1.

Posted by: Taylor Kozakar at October 29, 2010 7:07 AM

Wow, I can't imagine Fox would leak and then retract super secret information about their super secret sequel... jesus, I feel dumber just writing that.

I cannot wait to not watch this movie.

Posted by: twig at October 29, 2010 8:52 AM

It's funny, though, that some people here who seem to be fans of the comics, character, Wolverine mythos, etc., were crying foul over the little bit of info we got. Um, you guys do know that practically all of that (with the exception of Silver Samurai's "electric armor" [seriously, WTF was that about?]) is taken from the comics, right? Not all of it was from Claremont/Miller's original Wolverine mini-series, some of it was based on Claremont/Byrne's Uncanny X-Men arc "From the Ashes" (at least, that's what my graphic novel is entitled). Both of which happen to be two of the best, or my favorite at least, X-Men/Wolverine stories. So, slow yo' rolls, fools.

Claremont + Byrne + Miller + Jackman(Possible Aronofsky) = At least watchable.

My biggest problem with this movie is that it has to be "Wolverine 2". As a moviegoing audience, we all know how Logan lost his memories, how he got his adamantium, and why he hasn't aged a day since... what, 1900? We know about the supposed love of his life, her betrayal, and her death. Granted, we don't know what (as a movie audience) he did in Japan in his earlier days, but he knew about it in the first movie, and it didn't seem to trouble him any. It's just a shame the first movie was such a misfire, because so much of the drama for the sequel is going to feel empty. Maybe we can just pretend the other didn't happen and that this is square one?

Oh, and as someone else who has received Cease and Desist letters from Fox before... Welcome to the club!

Posted by: RobP at October 29, 2010 10:33 AM

Wolverine doesnt know hes from canada & how is he subdued enough to be incarcerated? Is this movie gonna start by undermining its credibility?

Posted by: Kate at November 1, 2010 2:07 AM

Wolverine and Japan is already a canon story, it's not like Batman where "he's traveling to find out about himself" like one commenter said...

Wolverine has TONS of backstory in Japan in the comics and I can't wait for this, the whole story of Wolverine in Japan was amazing so hopefully they pull a lot from that with their own twist,
