It’s becoming more common for movie stars to shift into the television world, and the latest big-screen star making the jump is Emma Stone. She’s going to be working on an adapted series with Jonah Hill and Cary Fukunaga. They’ll be making a version of Maniac, a Norwegian series that centers on a man who’s locked up in a mental institution, but has a rich fantasy life where he’s actually a very successful and popular person. It’s very early in production, so it’s not clear what role Stone will be playing, but Hill will be the man suffering from the delusion. There’s some speculation that Stone could be playing either a therapist trying to bring him back to reality, or a fellow patient in the institution.

There’s no word yet on where the series will air, but given the cast and Fukunaga’s involvement it seems likely that a premium channel or Netflix will pick it up.
