as much as i love Emma, she's an awful looking blonde. just plain awful.

Posted by: haplo at June 28, 2011 10:50 AM

Seriously, I love this actress.

My Natalie Portman love affair is ovah.

Posted by: grace b at June 28, 2011 10:50 AM

yes this is more painful than

remember that time lindsay went blonde

but it doesn't bother me anymore.

she's actually kinda hot now. in a heroin junkie kinda way. it goes with her anorexia.

but this is just wrong

Posted by: titties at June 28, 2011 10:56 AM

She's no bueno in interviews (at least ones I've happened to hear/read). Same with Olivia Munn. For me, that immensely diminishes their hotness.

It would seem that Ms. Stone's Movie Star Creation Experts are moving on to Step 4: Bikini shots in the classiest magazine posssible.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 28, 2011 11:02 AM

Too white, too thin, too... boring.

Posted by: logan at June 28, 2011 11:07 AM

To the people bashing people: She's a NATURAL BLONDE who dyes her hair red. Just remember that when you like to phrase that she "went blonde" or "looks terrible blonde." Also, to those saying she looks too thin or anorexic. At least all of her ribs aren't sticking out, and you can't see her breastbone.

Posted by: DeistBrawler at June 28, 2011 11:26 AM

They photo shopped out the ribs and breast bone.

Suddenly I'm hungry for BBQ...

Posted by: logan at June 28, 2011 11:29 AM

Blah, blah, too thin, blah, blah, ribs, blah.

The poor hideous creature. Were the devil to present himself, I would be willing to give up something major in order to be naturally thin.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 28, 2011 11:42 AM

It's really not that great of an image of her. She might be blonde, but those are some dark roots. Even if she is blonde, red hair looks so much better on her.

Posted by: Matt at June 28, 2011 11:48 AM

You'd give up Colin Farrel?

Posted by: logan at June 28, 2011 11:48 AM

If I had been naturally thin, I might have had better shot at Colin Farrell. I'd give up Ewan McGregor and Matthew Macfadyen. Daniel Craig stays right here with me.

You know what pisses me off? Lately every time a female who isn't chunky shows up on these pages we get the "too skinny" thing. But despite the hundreds of pictures of men with skin stretched so tight around their torsos we can count every ab, we never get anything but drooling appreciation. Have we been taken over by some bitchy militant feminist wing of the fat acceptance movement that only picks on females?

Posted by: PaddyDog at June 28, 2011 12:01 PM

Hear! Hear!

(Or in Christina Hendricks case the suggestion that she might be fat.)

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 28, 2011 12:07 PM

Paddy and Mrs. Julien have this shit covered.

[raises fist in solidarity]

Posted by: superasente at June 28, 2011 12:10 PM

pls refer to the newly announced Retro Girl for too thin. emma is just fine here. cept for the hair of coz.

Posted by: haplo at June 28, 2011 12:15 PM

She's a NATURAL BLONDE who dyes her hair red.
Artificial Intelligence?
Not my cup of tea, but I liked her in Easy A. And the red is better.

Posted by: dorquemada at June 28, 2011 12:37 PM

First misstep I've seen Emma make. She does not need to be doing that type of interview or cheap, porny, fluff spread. That type of shit is for Lohan or that Veronica Mars never-was. If she starts making stupid rom-coms I'll be done with her.

Posted by: BarbadoSlim at June 28, 2011 12:55 PM

Three cheers for Paddydog and Mrs. Julien!

That being said, I'm more offended that they let Christina Aguilera do the makeup for this shoot. Emma Stone is a beautiful girl - no need to tart her up like two dollar hooker. Also, I know she's blonde, but can't help it - I love red hair on her - it just seems right.

Posted by: Nicole at June 28, 2011 12:59 PM

Yeah lets cheer for perpetuating the stereotype that only thin and blonde is beautiful.

yay.

Posted by: logan at June 28, 2011 1:04 PM

@Logan - That's certainly not what I was cheering for if you're referring to my comment - I was talking about the fact that people rag on girls all the time for being too skinny or too fat and never on the guys (unless Kevin Smith's name appears in a post). Not that we should start ragging on the guys, just how about we don't rag on anyone for their personal body type? C'est tout.

Emma n dat Olivia "Oh, look at me, look at me, LOOK, AT, ME!" Munn in the same sentence? NO! No, no, no....NO.

I dun care how ditsy or not adorable she is in interviews as long as she cracks me up in movies, i'll support her in anything.

I gave Olivia Munn the benefit of the doubt in The Daily Show but wow her sketches were painful. Thank Zeus for Kristen Schaal and Samantha Bee.

Posted by: haplo at June 28, 2011 1:21 PM

C'mon now if we cant laugh at fat guys how is Kevin James gonna make a living?

Ok seriously, we as a society dont laugh at fat guys? Dont make fun of them? When did that start?

I really am railing against Hollywoods ideal of 2 pounds away from anorexia being perfect. I know some people really like that look but I'm not one of them. But I do allow that some skinny girls are cute. See the Mobile T thread for proof. : )

Posted by: logan at June 28, 2011 1:26 PM

The hair is fine, the body is fine, the swimsuit is cute, blah blah blah.

I just don't understand what they've done to her face. She doesn't look like herself. She looks like the creature from Splice.

Posted by: Amanda6 at June 28, 2011 1:27 PM

She looks like the creature from Splice.

now dats just cold.

Posted by: haplo at June 28, 2011 2:10 PM

Is it just me, or does she resemble a younger Nicole Kidman here?

Posted by: Crystal187 at June 28, 2011 2:34 PM

Why does she look EXACTLY like Amanda Seyfried in this picture? Is Vanity Fair just photoshopping celebrities to look like other celebrities?

Posted by: ShagEaredVillain at June 28, 2011 4:57 PM

Why does the stylist at Vanity Fair hate her so? The makeup, the lighting, the cheesy pose, everything looks terrible. She so pretty, they must hve worked really hard to make her look that bad.

Posted by: stardust at June 28, 2011 8:33 PM

She looks like Bijou Phillips in this pic and that makes we want to puke.

Posted by: kirbyjay at June 28, 2011 9:59 PM

The first thing that struck me was how similar this cover is to an older Katherine heigl cover.

Also, I really dont think it is right to bash someone for being naturally thin anymore than it is to bash somone thats naturally curvacious.

I think she's adorable although in my opinion if you can pull off red hair, DO IT! why get lost in a sea of blondes? Hendricks is a natural blonde, and shes STUNNING as a brunette. So was kate winslet, and nicole kidman, but no muuuust go blonde.

I've just recently found this site and I must say I find it really enjoyable and refreshing. Plus, I love movies. So imagine my surprise when I happened onto this post and read some of the comments. For a minute there, I though I was at some gossip site and not one for movie lovers. I kept waiting for someone to mention the obvious, but since that didn't happen, here goes: It has perhaps escaped some of you that the reason Emma Stone dyed her hair has nothing to do with giving in to the HW norm, but rather the fact that she was hired to play GWEN STACY in the SPIDERMAN reboot. Gwen Stacy is blonde. Emma Stone is an actress so she will have to, I expect, sometimes change her looks. And that goes for all actress, past present and future, who change their looks to meet the requirements of a part they are playing in the movie. Imagine the furor if Gwen Stacy was portrayed as a redhair?

Posted by: A.R.A. at June 29, 2011 1:26 AM

She still looks like Bijou Phillips and I still want to puke
