Next Valentine's Day sees the release of writer/director Maggie Carey's To Do List, which features one hell of a great all-star cast: Donald Glover, Bill Hader, Clark Gregg, Connie Britton, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Rachel Bilson, Alia Shawkat, Scott Porter, and Adam Pally. The film itself is centered on Aubrey Plaza, and the sexual exploits of her character as she attempts to gain more sexual experience before heading off to college.

How does a first-time writer/director land such a cool cast, anyway? Maggie Carey is actually Bill Hader's wife, although I'm certain she's also talented in her own right.

Here's the very funny trailer for To Do List.

I also read this as Danny Glover

I'm too old for this shit

  • Bedewcrock

Is the hot guy with the guitar the guy in the wheelchair from Friday Night Lights?

  • i feel old: i didn't recognise any names in the "all-star" cast

  • Devrah

Initially, I read "Danny Glover" rather than Donald Glover, and I was rather concerned.

  • ,

Where is this Aubrey Plaza place?

    I'd go down there.

  • BlackRabbit

They should remake it as an Avengers tie-in. Call it Growing Up Shield. Also, am I the only one who thought the Glover mentioned was Danny at first? Would have been weeeird. If I went to see Valentine movies, or pretended the day existed, I would see this film.

    Yay, Clark Gregg!

  • ??? Seriously? That's a pretty low threshold for things funny, isn't it?

  • junierizzle

    I kind of laughed.

This is one of the best trailers I've seen. There's no plot spoilers, stupid music or quick cuts to try to edit together laughs. Really, this is one of the few trailers that makes me want to see the movie more than the cast or synopsis. Hollywood, if you're listening, THIS is how you do a trailer.

  • Kip Hackman

I see what you did there.

  • pajiba

    Wise ass.

I don't see a video. But, the header pic more than makes up for it. Imagination is awesome.

EDIT: I saw it...and I remain optimistic about this.

  • AudioSuede

Can I see this with bells on?

    If so, that.
