Dan Harmon has since apologized for comparing season four of "Community" to watching his family raped on a beach, in during the interim -- between the analogy and the apology -- Megan Ganz, one of the best writers on the show during the Harmon era (she wrote the "Law and Order" ep, for instance), who has since gone on to "Modern Family," tweeted the above.

And that's why Megan Ganz is the best at everything.

And that’s why Megan Ganz is the best at everything.

If she is, she shouldn't be writing for Modern Family. The show has become a very poor shadow of its original self.

  • cruzzercruz

Doesn't change the fact that she couldn't keep the ship afloat after he left.

  • Jenn

Ah, but she wasn't head writer after Harmon left. That would be Andy Bobrow.

  • General Bluth

But she did write the single worst episode of the entire series — "Advanced Introduction to Finality."
I don't know. I've liked Ganz since she was featured in the episode of This America Life that featured The Onion, but I wonder how good her writing actually is without the Harmon factor.

what is so bad about this damn episode

it is an homage to a classic twilight zone episode

It bookends both the season and the series

It pays tribute to classic episodes

There was no certainty that the show would be picked up another season so it had to tie up any loose ends and the biggest end was jeff's graduation and concern about the future

And virtual systems analysis was the episode of the series

    HA

Now see, funny rape jokes DO exist.

  • Emperor Cupcake

It's the difference between making a job about rape or making a joke about raping a particular person.

  • If you were to make a job about rape, I'd hate to see that customer satisfaction survey.

  • Lauren_Lauren

    Brilliant.

  • NateMan

Yep. It all depends on the target.

  • Guest

    perfect...save for writing season finales.

  • daniel

it was better than the last season finale which depicted abed as being mentally unbalanced and a danger to others when the season insisted he was the sane one of the group

We tend to overuse the word "perfect", but holy shit is that it.

  • lowercase_ryan

Sony really wouldn't pay for exteriors though,. The show spent all last year indoors, which is too bad because they did a lot of cool stuff with the quad or whatever it's called.

  • MEGAN GANZ IS GREAT. But I wish she was on a more worthy show. Modern Family got off to a great start, but it's fallen off pretty quickly.

    ...save for writing season finales.

Do the kids still say "Awww, snap!"?
