“Come On, This Is a Bluth Family Celebration … It’s No Place for Children.”
Pilot News / Seth Freilich

jason-biggs.jpgMitch Hurwitz is now working with CBS on an untitled comedy, which the Eye has given a pilot commitment and a six-script order. The show is apparently about a bunch of adult siblings and their over-involved parents. Which certainly sounds a tad like another brilliant show Hurwitz is responsible for. Not much is known about the show yet beyond that logline, as Hurwitz hasn’t even written the pilot yet, but rumor has it that final talks are being had for Jason Biggs to star in the show. Not sure I love that decision, not to mention the fact that I’m skeptical about any new comedy on CBS. But a Hurwitz comedy about a wacky family? I’ll give it a shot no matter what.

Now, Seth, that's not fair! I just got so excited by your tag I dropped my oatmeal. Do you know how hard it is to get that stuff out of a rug? It's all sticky and whatnot.

And then, I saw that picture of Biggs. It's a good thing I wasn't sipping my coffee, I can tell you that. That might be my new desktop wallpaper.

Oh, that's just mean, Seth. Dirty, dirty trick.

To be fair, I think Biggs might actually have the correct personality to give life to a GOB-like character. Consider his role in Jay & Silent Bob: "I'm the pie fucker! I fucked the pie." He knows he's worthless, so he could actually do something good with the right material...

Having just rewatched Season 2, I'd hate to see this taint the legacy. It seems to have potential to turn a genius into a One Trick Pony

File this under Restive Developments. Let us know when they have a storyline and a title...'cuz Hurwitz would have to have a sophomore slump of epic proportions for this to be worse than anything else CBS is calling comedy these days.

I actually really enjoy Biggs. I think his movie choices generally suck, but he's a decent actor and with the right material...might not be bad.
