While many of us here rolled our eyes at the Carrie Underwood version of The Sound of Music that NBC produced and aired, it was enough of a success that the network is giving live musical theater another shot. They’re working on adapting Peter Pan, and just announced that Christopher Walken will play Captain Hook. They have promised fans that this role will include tap dancing, so watch this and just imagine it happening with Walken in a pirate costume and a hook for one hand:

While the production has picked its Hook, they haven’t been able to nail down a Peter yet. In the same article, they reported that Kristen Bell had been considered but her House of Lies schedule didn’t work with the time commitment needed for the Peter Pan production. They have also tossed around the idea of having Peter, traditionally played by an adult woman, portrayed by a man.
