Bullet To The Head Trailer: Rocky vs. Khal Drogo

The release of The Expendables 2 to theaters also saw the release of two trailers featuring two of its cast. The first trailer was for the previously reviewed Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand. The second is for Sylvester Stallone's Bullet to the Head (not to be confused with IFC's Bullet to the Face). The film is being directed by longtime director/producer Walter Hill and is adapted from the French graphic novel Du Plomb Dans La Tete (aka Headshot) written by Alexis "Martz" Nolent and drawn by Colin Wilson.

Stallone plays seasoned New Orleans hitman Jimmy Bobo. After finding his younger partner executed, Bobo decides to walk away from the profession. Shortly thereafter a local cop named Taylor Kwon, played by Sung Kang, approaches him. Kwon has also lost his partner recently and believes that each death was arranged by the same man. He strikes up a proposal for the two of them to join forces to find the man responsible and avenge their respective partner's deaths. So far it sounds like a simple enough revenge story. Here's the trailer, via IGN.

The trailer has a very early John Woo vibe to the storyline but the visual action style is very much Walter Hill. Not very subtle or mired in Newtonian physics but big on explosions and potential body counts. In addition to Stallone and Kang, the movie also stars Christian Slater, Jason Momoa, Sarah Shahi, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Brian Van Holt and Jon Seda. Bullet To The Head opens in theaters February 1st, 2013.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • Quatermain

Y'all are 2 for 3 as far as trailers on the front page go, good work.

  • scone

I hope Momoa wins the fight and the movie is renamed 'Axe to the Face.'

  • googergieger

" Bobo decides to walk away from the profession."

  • duckandcover

    Jimmy .. what?

  • I can't see past Rocky's plastic surgery abomination face.

  • Justin Kuhn

Do the MAF: there's a Mothafuckin Axe Fight. Sure, I'll watch.

  • DeistBrawler

The biggest suspension in belief for this movie is going to be that Stallone could win in a fist fight against Momoa.

  • hapl0

If Momoa is a mountain of meat then Stallone is made of concrete. Just look at that header pic. No suspension required.

He needs to fix the belly button soon though. Like yesterday soon.

  • DeistBrawler

Any amount of physique doesn't change the fact that he's 66 and Momoa is 33.

Let's also not forget that in all likelihood Stallone used drugs to attain that physique.

  • Mrs. Julien

the fact that he's 66 and Momoa is 33
Ironically, if you reverse that you have the difference in their heights as well.

  • Miss Laaw-yuhr

Old Rocky + Khal Drogo + A muthafreakin Axe = 100% Awesome. My parents were completely wrong when they said math wasn't my best subject.

  • sherlockzz

I'm intrigued. Every once in a while, Stallone surprises. This has potential.

  • ,

    Sarah Shahi is God.

Still not in. Looks too generic.

  • Rooks

Hot, kidnapped daughter (of a guy she, lucky for her and very obviously, doesn't share a single chromosome with) developing Stockholm syndrome in sen, akat, at...

  • The Foreigner needle drop was my favorite part of that. Then they made fun of it. Then they put a Kid Rock song on or something. This movie may not be for me. Then again, there is the Shahi aspect to consider.

  • hapl0

Now that's a dad's dad right there. I envy you, Sarah Shahi's character.

    Christian Slater!

I wonder if Momoa threw in some Dothraki cursing when shooting this.

  • The Other Agent Johnson

Well it's a damn sight better than that gawdawful looking Schwarzerpublican trailer. It looks like big dumb fun. I can get into big dumb fun.

    Also, Sarah Shahi.

  • Mrs. Julien

He is so totally on my "Don't Speak" list.

  • zeke_the_pig

Christian Slater? Seriously? That is fan-fucking-tastic! Will it also star a VHS player and the uncertainty over Freddie Mercury's sexuality?

  • Fredo

My baby bro worked on this film. Said he had a blast making it and that Hill and Stallone were nice to work with and that Momoa was very much like a little kid.

  • Maguita NYC

*Snort, chuckle* Stallone's monotonous-one-rhythm delivery has not improved with age. But I will definitely watch because of my love for Sung Kang.

And yes, for the Momoaaan porn as well.
