Bullet To The Head Trailer: Rocky vs. Khal Drogo
The release of The Expendables 2 to theaters also saw the release of two trailers featuring two of its cast. The first trailer was for the previously reviewed Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand. The second is for Sylvester Stallone's Bullet to the Head (not to be confused with IFC's Bullet to the Face). The film is being directed by longtime director/producer Walter Hill and is adapted from the French graphic novel Du Plomb Dans La Tete (aka Headshot) written by Alexis "Martz" Nolent and drawn by Colin Wilson.
Stallone plays seasoned New Orleans hitman Jimmy Bobo. After finding his younger partner executed, Bobo decides to walk away from the profession. Shortly thereafter a local cop named Taylor Kwon, played by Sung Kang, approaches him. Kwon has also lost his partner recently and believes that each death was arranged by the same man. He strikes up a proposal for the two of them to join forces to find the man responsible and avenge their respective partner's deaths. So far it sounds like a simple enough revenge story. The trailer has a very early John Woo vibe to the storyline but the visual action style is very much Walter Hill. Not very subtle or mired in Newtonian physics but big on explosions and potential body counts. In addition to Stallone and Kang, the movie also stars Christian Slater, Jason Momoa, Sarah Shahi, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Brian Van Holt and Jon Seda. Bullet To The Head opens in theaters February 1st, 2013.
