Big news in Clone Land! Tatiana Maslany is such a powerful transformative wizard that a single medium can no longer contain her. Sometime early next year, an Orphan Black comic will be hitting stores.

John Young from Temple Street Productions says,

Orphan Black, in addition to being a captivating TV series, is a perfect premise for comics. And as the second season has expanded the series in exciting new directions, that has only increased the amount of stories we’ll be able to tell in comic-book form.
And it’s true, they do have a lot of stories to tell. Inevitably, when an episode ends there’s at least one character I wished they’d spent more time on. (Note: It’s never Sarah.)

The downside to this (let me rain on the parade just this once, and then I’ll go back to celebrating, I promise) is that this comic will only bring us more story, not more Maslany. And while the show is fantastic, she is the reason many of us keep watching. So while the art in the books may be modeled after her (and boy did that cover do a great job), we won’t get to see Cosima chew on the inside of her lip, or hear Helena say “seestra.” I guess we’ll just have to use our stupid imaginations for that.
