Biz Break: "Saturday Night Live" May Be Losing Three Cast Members Over the Summer
So, we can stop talking about this for a while, yes? Good.
Meanwhile, in what has to be the worst bargain of all time, Netflix will make House of Cards available on DVD for anywhere between $50 and $65, depending on the outlet. So, basically, you can buy House of Cards on DVD, or you can subscribe to Netflix for six months and watch both House of Cards and everything in the Netflix catalogue. Tough call, tough call.
Will Arnett has joined Megan Fox in the cast of the Michael Bay-produced, Jonathan Liebesman-directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in an unspecified role. Now that you know that, please feel free to scrub it from your mind.
Tim Burton's next movie is something of a departure for him. He'll be directing Big Eyes, a biopic about Margaret and Walter Keane, who became famous in the 1950s and 60s for paintings featuring saucer-eyed kids. Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams have been cast in the lead roles, which were once occupied by Ryan Reynolds and Reese Witherspoon.
"Saturday Night Live" player Nasim Pedrad (who is, weirdly, the longest-running female cast member on the show at the moment) has take the female lead in the Lorne Michaels produced comedy pilot written and starring John Mulaney (an "SNL" writer). The show, loosely based on Mulaney's life, also stars Martin Short and Elliott Gould. Should it go to series, both Pedrad and Mulaney would leave "SNL."
If "SNL" loses Pedrad, Meyers, and Mulaney, next year ... oh, it'll be fine, as long as Taran Killam and Kate McKinnon stick around.
Jason Dohring is officially signed on to the Veronica Mars movie, as if there were a question.
Speaking of obvious, HBO officially announced the fourth-season renewal of "Game of Thrones" yesterday, after Sunday's episode outranked every other scripted show on Fox this ENTIRE year in the 18-49 demo. Sunday's premiere also set a record for the most pirated show of all time.
Finally, Melissa McCarthy, one of the better "Saturday Night Live" hosts last year, is returning this weekend. Here are the TV promos.
