Karen Gillan has been cast as the so-far-unnamed lead villain in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. I don't know much about this particular area of comic fandom, so I'm bereft of guesses. Whatever role Gillan might play, she joins Lee Pace and Michael Rooker as the Big Bads. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, David Bautista, Glenn Close, and John C. Reilly are the Good Ones. Bautista is all about getting buffer for his role, by the way.

The Expendables 3 is chugging along with casting, with Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage, and Milla Jovovich supposedly locked into roles. Perhaps Jovovich's role will help set up the long-rumored The Expendables: Bajingo-Having Leads Edition?

Paul Greengrass is directing Memphis, which follows Martin Luther King Jr. toward the end of his life. The King Estate is reportedly not pleased with Greengrass' take on Mr. King, but that hasn't stopped Forest Whitaker from expressing interest in the lead role. An Oscar role is an Oscar role, am I right?

Whoopi Goldberg has joined Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as Bernadette Thompson. This is a rewrite of the show's Channel 6 News Editor, Burne Thompson. Burne was a white dude and Goldberg is not. This is all fine with me, as who cares what Channel 6's News Editor looks like or which bathroom they use. Also, I don't give a sh*t.
