Bill Maher's Teabagger Romantic Comedies

On Friday night’s season finale of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Maher had Nora Ephron (Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail) on the show, which gave him the opportunity to mock up some movie posters for Teabagger Romantic Comedies (and with Michael Moore on the show, there was probably enough bags of wind to generate electricity for a small city).

For lack of anything better to show you right now, I offer you up the video. Below are the titles listed. They’re funnier with the movie posters. (Warning: Not that much funnier).

  • Four Weddings and a Death Panel

  • Hate, Actually

  • When Harry Met Batshit

  • Sarah Palin in … Petty Woman

  • You’ve Got (Racist) Mail

  • He’s Just Not That Into Jews

  • No Sex and the City

  • Knocked Up

I found funnier material in last night's pork bowl.

Bill Maher and Michael Moore in the same room??? It must've felt like a sauna in August up in that bitch.

Nora Ephron totally dragged the show down. It took her so long to get her thoughts out, I thought that Bill Maher's head was going to explode.

It was almost the opposite with Joe Sestak. He cannot get a spontaneous thought out. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a prepared stump speech, and Bill couldn't shut him up.

Now, I'm used to people telling me to watch boring videos that they find interesting (most recently, something about a cat intimidating an alligator), but it is a little unusual to see someone reccomending a video that even they acknowledge is not very entertaining.

Doesn't this post pretty much amount to: "Hey, check out this boring thing. Yeah, I was unimpressed, too."

Yeah, poor Nora Ephron seemed to be feeling the after-effects of the some sort of hallucinogenic.

As for Bill's clip, I think a lot of the bile and grit that makes his best stuff funny and snarky was absent. Hence the disappointment.

Why hasn't someone lit this guy on fire yet? At the very least he should have spontaneously combusted by now.

I admit to finding "He's just not that into Jews" pretty damn funny. The rest were meh. Maher and True Blood were all I watched on HBO. I don't really miss either.
