Here’s some news to warm your cold, dead heart on a cold, dead October morning: the sequel to the best 3D movie about prehistoric piranhas finally has a name. It is set to be let loose to chew upon your eyeballs in summer 2011 and will be called Piranha 3DD (hurr hurr).

There’s an actual bit of (arguably) good news to go along with this announcement. This penis-chomping fish-fest will be written and directed by the guys behind Feast, the 2005 movie that featured Henry Rollins getting torn apart by [insert generic monster here].

As a fan of watching things get torn apart by monsters of both the land and sea, I approve.

I have thought long and hard about what you could call a sequel to a movie already using the '3D' subtitle.

The answer here is perfect. Sign me up.

More bare boobs. More carnage. More tongue-in-cheek humor.

Sign me up.

oh yeah!

never would have thought anyone would give the guys behind the feast trilogy a bunch of money to make a theatre release movie.

piranha3d was the best theatre experience i've had in a very long time

It was fun. Certainly the most fun I have seen an audience have in a theater in ages.

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck
