This is how great YouTube is. I’m stuck for an evening post, and I decide: Hey! Let’s see if we can find some embarassing videos featuring the cast members of Wolverine, since it’s coming out in two days. And wouldn’t you know: I hit the mother lode. Here are five video clips featuring the stars of Wolverine before they were stars of anything. And if you watch just one, check out the Taylor Kitsch video. If you see two, make sure to see the last one, featuring Dominic Monaghan.

Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) in “The Blue Heelers,” an Australian cop show.

Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth) in Denise Calls Up.

Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) in “The Odyssey” a children’s show in Canada (beginning at the 30 second mark).

Taylor Kitsch (Gambit) unnecessarily removing his shirt after a day of shooting for The Covenant.

Dominic Monaghan (Bolt) in “Hetty Wainthropp Investigates,” a British Private Eye show.

I remember back before Lord of the Rings came out all these videos of the then-unkown cast started coming out, and oh man the Dominic Monaghan ones were always the most insane because he was SO DAMN CUTE. Look at those giant ears! The nose! Dude was BORN to play a hobbit. And die in a watery wreck.

Holy crap, I'd forgot how much The Covenant suuuuuuuucked.

This movie will blow, not even Charlie/Merry and "The Reason Everyone on This Site Thinks Dustin's as gay as The Pink Hulk" can save this turkey.

Posted by: George at April 29, 2009 8:39 PM

Aw, it's baby Charlie! Come back Chah-lee!

Posted by: Cindy at April 29, 2009 8:39 PM

Unnecessary? I don't think it means what you think it means.

P.S. Li'l RyRey looks pretty hot with that earring, huh? Huh?

You know, I used to watch "The Odyssey" with my mother when I was still a Christian. And I thought Ryan Reynolds was cute then. Then I watched him on that horrible "Two Guys, a Girl, and Pizza Place" for years. Not that I'm trying to compete with Rowles or anything, but... I saw him first!

Screw all those guys, I am mesmerized by Mike Nelson as Wolverine in that RiffTrax ad. Mike will forever and always be my crush.

Rrrrrigginsssss

It's nice to see that Ryan Reynolds delivery hasn't changed in twenty(?) years.

Posted by: admin at April 29, 2009 9:03 PM

Mr Rowles, why are you trying to ruin Ryan Reynolds for me?

I always imagined that if we were ever to procreate, our children would be beautiful little angels. That clip you posted would suggest otherwise. In fact, they would be hideous monstrosities that we would have to hide from society. Well, at least until they grew into their features like daddy did.

Also, I loved Two Guys and a Girl, and I don't care what anyone thinks.

P.S. Is that really Hugh Jackman in the picture above? He looks oh so pretty.

I think pretty much all video of Ryan Reynolds before he built his body up to be the same scale as his head could be considered embarrassing. You remember some of those early episodes of Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place? Guy looked like Jack Fucking Skellington

figgy, I am all about the adorableness that is Dominic Monaghan. Even when he was all strung out n' creepy on LOST, my reaction was just, "Awwwwwww!"

*Spoilers?*
And I was a train wreck when his character died. I cried way more than a reasonable person should. The music, the cuteness, the sad...I was a mess. I do not envy my roommates at the time.

i would do things to monaghan's nostrils that i couldn't share on such a family-friendly site.

Posted by: gp at April 29, 2009 10:30 PM

Hugh Jackman can look androgynous??????

Posted by: dene at April 29, 2009 10:56 PM

I also question your usage of "unnecessarily." How exactly are you defining it?

Posted by: Kelly at April 29, 2009 11:19 PM

CLEARLY, Mr.Kitsch has a healthy sense of humor about his hotness and understands why he was cast in The Covenant and was simply giving the fans (and non-fans) what they signed up for.

That or someone behind the camera was making "take off your shirt" motions at him. Which is exactly what I would have done if I were there, except I would have followed up with "take off your pants and follow me into this dressing room" motions.

That's Hugh Jackman? Huh. I thought it was KD Lang.

Posted by: Brie at April 30, 2009 1:43 AM

The clip of Schreiber you REALLY want is him in drag, in Mixed Nuts. It's great.

Posted by: Landon at April 30, 2009 3:24 AM

I used to love the Odyssey. I fancied the kid in the coma.

Posted by: Carrie at April 30, 2009 4:42 AM

I'm not hating on Huge Jackman, b/c as my bf and I were discussing last night, he's ridiculously attractive, but there's something very young Rod Stewart about that photo above.

"That's Hugh Jackman? Huh. I thought it was KD Lang."

explains my constant craving.

HEY-O!

Posted by: gp at April 30, 2009 9:27 AM

Then I watched him on that horrible "Two Guys, a Girl, and Pizza Place" for years.

TAKE IT BACK! That show was funny. I used to watch it when I didn't want to study anymore.

Posted by: Melody at April 30, 2009 10:31 AM

I used to watch "The Odyssey" as a kid - hooray Canadian public access t.v. - one of the more interesting cast members other then Ryan R. is the lovely Jewel Staite. It was so wierd seeing her on Firefly and how gorgeous she was when she was a pretty goofy looking kid - she is the little girl sitting over the coma kids bed. You can also see her standing around in the back of the rest of the clip.

Posted by: J.Peachy at April 30, 2009 1:46 PM

actually i would say the Jackman is looking like noel ghaller or however u spell his name. in that pic. an immmensly hot Noel tho.

Posted by: Dan at April 30, 2009 4:24 PM

Awwww, "The Odyssey" . . . I had crushes on several of the boys on that show. I don't think I ever got to see the ending.

Poor Ryan and his wittle beaver teeth.

Posted by: Lauren at April 30, 2009 7:11 PM

Oh my god, "Blue Heelers". I can feel the cultural cringe coming on...

Posted by: redhead at April 30, 2009 8:21 PM

Ha! That is some seriously vintage Blue Heelers...my mother used to watch that show religiously...Mt Thomas...crime capital of the world...
