Wednesday SciFi Roundup: Ronald Moore, Richard Matheson, and Independence Day | The Supreme Court Rules the Defense of Marriage Act Unconstituational. Let's Celebrate the Pajiba Way

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • Bananapanda

Who the hell is Kevin Zegers?!

  • Zifko

I'd see Prince Avalanche because I noticed the music by Explosoins in the Sky part at the bottom

  • BivalentZs

If Pauls Rudd's mustache was in a swimsuit I'd pick it. But Kristen Bell.. if the movie was called 'detached eyes feed to evil fetus' I'd be ok let's see where this little film takes me. Bell hands down.

  • Ruby rose

Prince Avalanche. I like overalls and tractors.

  • Aaron Schulz

Hm mario Paul Rudd is exciting, but Willow Creek poster gets my vote

  • Calum Sanderson

Willow Creek would be the one I would see based on a poster alone.

  • I'd say 'Willow Creek' is the winner here, although 'Big Bad Wolves', 'Runner', and 'The Colony' all look interesting as well. 'Prince Avalanche' looks like the sort of indy film that plays at an arthouse cinema for a week and makes about 10 bucks.

  • Green Lantern

Rudd and Hirsch? Why the hell not?

But just posterwise I liked "Willow Creek" a lot.

  • Ben

I have no fucking idea what Willow Creek is but god damm I want to see it based on that poster.

  • Willow Creek because Bobcat. Bobcat makes everything better, even shitty reality TV shows.

  • stella

Omg... I thought that Runner Runner movie said Blade Runner and then I thought you were messing with us and I was so confused. Reading comprehension for the win i guess?

  • Michelle

Runner Runner, if only for the absurdity of Affleck and JT in the same movie. WHY is this happening?

K Bell has typically had pretty underwhelming movies/roles, so pass on that one.

  • Honestly, get rid of The Colony and Runner Runner and my answer is... all of them?

  • kildarepaul

Not in the spirit of the post but Big Bad Wolves looks decent

  • Bert_McGurt

"It's going to take a picture of Kristen Bell in a swimsuit to beat that awesome poster for Willow Creek!"

    *scrolls down*

"Oh, well then. It's still a pretty awesome poster."

  • B

    paul rudd. always and forever.

  • janellest

None of these are real movies, right?

  • Natalie

I'll see anything with Lior Askenazi. He's had me since that film he was in about Gruzini marriage practices.

  • koko temur

Did we just have another Israeli to come out?
Welcome, if you are, and if you are not i have a great reccomendation for you of Askenazi project that you possibly havent seen yet.

  • Natalie

    Hi koko,
I post infrequently. But I've mentioned my Israeliness before, I don't know when. I've been reading this site since they started it. So... That post could have been a year or two ago.

I've also seen walk on water and sima vakhnin machshefa, but the latter didn't give me sexy brooding Lior, just comically unlucky Lior wrapped in a body cast. (Pout)

But yeah, I could watch him read the newspaper, so long as he was brooding about it.

  • koko temur

Me too! weird our paths didnt cross yet. Well nevermind then, i was about to offer betipul to you, but if you are a fun of brooding lior, you surely know it.

  • Jim

Oh my god The Colony is a Canuck film that's been on Netflix up here for a while and as charitably as possible: the only thing missing are bits of corn and peanuts. Seriously, you'll wanna light a match after this baby's finished.

  • Steph

Willow Creek and Big Bad Wolves are easily the best posters. The Colony looks like it could have come out at any point in the past two decades.

  • TherecanbeonlyoneAdmin

    The ones with nipples.

  • Sara_Tonin00

Please tell me that is not a poster of Paul Rudd going full retard.

(apologies to those who hate the "r" word. Feel free to cancel my shows.)

  • HJ

That's the first thing that came to my mind!

  • Rocabarra

Paul Rudd looks like Luigi, of Mario and Luigi fame.

  • PDamian

Willow Creek and Big Bad Wolves, of course. Terrific design sensibility. I particularly like the Saul Bass vibe of Big Bad Wolves.

  • This is how I feel about the Big Bad Wolves poster:

It's like a terrible copy of a copy of a Saul Bass.

  • Laura

Can't say as I'm excited about any of these based on the posters.

  • NynjaSquirrel

Same, and only the header pic got my attention to be honest...

  • Olorin

    What is that pic from???

  • toblerone

  • Some Guy

Willow Creek, but only because it was written and directed by Bobcat Goldthwait.

Runner up is Kristen Bell in a swimsuit. Conservative as it may be. It harkens me back to a greater time, really, back when Baywatch was still on the air.

  • BlackRabbit

I prefer Son of the Beach.

  • Michael Murray

Oh, easily Big Bad Wolves. Easily.

  • Bandit

Aye, I've not heard anything about it prior but its now on my watchlist.

Prince Avalanche looks like a lot of fun too.

  • koko temur

Big bad wolves is clearly an israeli film. I know nothing about it, just recognize the names. Just pointing it out for the hidden racists out there.
looove the style of the poster, but rather watch kirsten bell. doing anything, really.

  • Fabius_Maximus

You know you can chose more than one?

Although my brain shorted out when I saw Kristen Bell. That one I will watch... alone.

  • koko temur

I know. I just dont wanna. Rewatching veronica mars, she is somehow getting hotter with time, the fuck is that. And looking now through set photos from the movie, she is still doing it.

  • I stopped scrolling after Kristen Bell. I choo-choo-choose her.

  • NateMan

You can't put Kristen Bell in a swimsuit and expect me to vote for anything else. You just can't.

  • emmalita

Kristen Bell looks weirdly Photoshopped in that poster, doubly weird because she is gorgeous and needs no photoshopping.

  • foolsage

Paul Rudd's 'stache is fabulous though. Come on, just look at it. You want to touch it, don't you?

    Look at it.

  • emmalita

    Paul Rudd wins that one.

  • foolsage

Paul Rudd's 'stache wins, I think you meant.

  • emmalita

Paul Rudd mustache is the best mustache

  • foolsage

    It is known.

  • Mrs. Julien

Sam Elliott would like a word.

  • emmalita

Sam Eliott's mustache is such an iconic part of his face that I am convinced he was born with that 'stache. It is beyond valuation or judgement. Rudd's mustache is a delectable treat that graces us for a time and then disappears. Sometimes it arrives with it's friend Rudd beard, and sometimes it manifests as it's other identity, Rudd stubble.

  • foolsage

Sam Elliott's 'stache is mightier, true, but Paul Rudd's is the best. LOOK AT IT.

  • Mrs. Julien

    I can't argue with a crazy person.

  • foolsage

Well, that's probably true. It's also true that de gustibus non est disputandum.

  • Mrs. Julien

So what you're saying is that different people like different things? Hmmm.
Of course, that flies int he face of everything Pajiba stands for.

  • foolsage

Flying in the face of opinion might very well be the point there. :D

Rudd can pull off a full Burt Reynolds. That is not easy.

  • BuffyloGal

I saw a preview of "Prince Avalanche" recently and it looks terrific! Glad to see Paul Rudd truly acting again. The "Runner Runner" ad feels like a movie we've all seen before.

  • AudioSuede

Holy shit, that Willow Creek poster is intense. I want it.
