Let's see, based ONLY ON THE POSTERS and using my ridiculous libido, I would be most likely to see Warrior. However, I have seen the trailer for that movie and do not have high hopes. Except for IN MY PANTS.

Posted by: Pinky McLadybits at June 23, 2011 12:09 PM

Cowboy and Aliens. HELLO MR. CRAIG.

Given my personal dislike of Sean Penn, I refuse to watch just about anything with his sanctimonious ass self in it.

Posted by: Melody at June 23, 2011 12:10 PM

I haven't the foggiest fucking idea what "Brave" is, but I do know this: that poster marks the first time Pixar's given me a boner. A for reals, big-boy boner.

I don't know how my eleven-thirty "bathroom" break's gonna go based solely on a poster, but I'll be damned if I'm not going to fight through the chaffing and finish strong...

Posted by: Skitz at June 23, 2011 12:11 PM

Did anyone else notice how much Sean Penn looked like Sarah Jessica Parker in that poster?

Posted by: Amberlark at June 23, 2011 12:13 PM

I agree with everything Melody said. Twice.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 23, 2011 12:13 PM

::rrriiiipppppp::

Posted by: Mrs. Julien's Stays at June 23, 2011 12:18 PM

John Carter. That is all.

Posted by: Katla at June 23, 2011 12:20 PM

Well shit on my balls, this is the first I've heard of a new non-sequel Pixar movie, so that's my favorite.

Most of the rest are regurgitated garbage eaten and shat out after a 5 day Everclear drinking binge.

And yes to the Sean Penn hate, Melody. The next time I see one of his movies will be the next time I forget who Sean Penn is.

Posted by: Kballs at June 23, 2011 12:21 PM

Ooh, a new Pixar!!! Non sequel! Soo...that one. And The Del Toro pic because the trailer scared me.

Posted by: Julie at June 23, 2011 12:24 PM

Looks like Sean Penn's new movie is called Edward's Scissored-Nads.

Posted by: Greedy at June 23, 2011 12:25 PM

I have no idea what either film is about, but the man muscle in Warrior and Cowboys and Aliens seems worth the £10 ticket price.

Posted by: pem at June 23, 2011 12:26 PM

Well, my head says Pixar, but my loins are screaming Warrior, The Immortals, and John Carter.

Is Sean Penn channeling Jack White in that poster? Yick.

Posted by: MelBivDevoe at June 23, 2011 12:30 PM

It seems as if there is some massive bo emanating out of that chimp's hairy pit. Stink lines would have been cheaper, Hollywood.

Just saying...

The only non-crap poster is "Warrior" bc it's like playtime w Hardy's abs (bonus points for not shaving those yummy man-chesticles down like the backstreet boys (no longer relevant you say? NKOTB? still no? umm...a baby's butt? BIEBER! just like skinny, hairless rat-animal called Bieber). Needless to say I will be stealing that poster and nuzzling my face against it's cold, hard....paper-ness.

Posted by: beet salad at June 23, 2011 12:39 PM

If that's Julianne Moore's or Emma Stone's calf, yes I want to lick it; but no I don't want to see that movie.

Posted by: fracas at June 23, 2011 12:41 PM

My heart leapt at the Pixar poster - can't friggin' wait! AND it's being released before the catastrophic change as dictated by the Mayan calendar! Something wonderful to go out to!

Posted by: Rest In Peace at June 23, 2011 12:41 PM

Brave and Cowboys & Aliens are the only posters that really grabbed be; I just started giggling when I say the Abduction poster.

And there's this odd blank space right below the Brave poster; I keep looking, but it's as though my mind is blocking something out. Oh, well.

Posted by: jthomas666 at June 23, 2011 12:41 PM

Brave. Don't care; it's Pixar.

Posted by: superasente at June 23, 2011 12:42 PM

Also, I was hoping I'd scroll down on that Footloose poster and it would say "This. Is. SPARTA!!!!" and Gerard Butler and Co. would be doing a jig in the entrails of those sorry remake fuckers.

Posted by: beet salad at June 23, 2011 12:42 PM

The poster from the Del Toro pic looks like it's straight out of 1989. I'd have to say either Brave or Crazy Stupid.

Posted by: Camytaru at June 23, 2011 12:43 PM

Going with Brave. It looks like exactly what Pixar should be.

Posted by: Fredo at June 23, 2011 12:44 PM

Don't Be Afriad of the Dark and Cowboys & Aliens. I've already forgotten the other ones.

Posted by: TylerDFC at June 23, 2011 12:44 PM

Pixar Pixar Pixar Pixar Pixar.

We need more sword-swinging, bow and arrow-wielding redheaded badass Scottish princesses, thanks.

Posted by: Aislinn at June 23, 2011 12:46 PM

That Brave poster is cool, I'd see that based on the poster.

Also, Cowboys vs. Aliens - nice cast!

That one for Abduction just looks retarded. it looks... very 90s or something.

Am super excited for John Carter, but the poster doesn't excite me very much :(

Footloose may as well just go straight to DVD!

Posted by: Laura at June 23, 2011 12:52 PM

Brave. I am so excited for that one. Also, John Carter, but only based on the beautifulness that it Taylor Kitsch on that poster. Yummmm.....

Posted by: Nimue at June 23, 2011 12:54 PM

Can't wait for the posters - Warrior and Immortals have me licking my screen right here at home. MMMmmmmmm hmmmmmm.

Posted by: ChickaBoom! at June 23, 2011 12:54 PM

"This Must be the Place" looks like "Sean Penn: The Oscar Speech -The Movie"

Posted by: Odnon at June 23, 2011 12:57 PM

I have no idea what either film is about, but the man muscle in Warrior and Cowboys and Aliens seems worth the £10 ticket price.

Posted by: pem at June 23, 2011 12:26 PM

£10, see how smug I am everyone.

Posted by: Pookie at June 23, 2011 1:04 PM

I would like to be excited about the John Carter movie but since Disney is doing it it will probably having singing Tharks and the incomparable Deja Thoris will be wearing petticoats.

Posted by: logan at June 23, 2011 1:18 PM

Why is that smug?

Posted by: Laura at June 23, 2011 1:19 PM

Brave because I see the name Pixar. Warrior reminds me how easily it is to pick who is going to win fights just by the fighter's entrance. The only way the guy not named Tom Hardy wins is because of writing. "From the director of Miracle." Yeah, because he's gonna need one.

Posted by: Matt at June 23, 2011 1:27 PM

Disney Pixar! Disney Pixar! Disney Pixar!

Posted by: Lauren at June 23, 2011 1:27 PM

Brave.

Posted by: Cindy at June 23, 2011 1:31 PM

That Sean Penn... what .... what in the unholy hell? WHHHHYYYYYY???

Posted by: MM at June 23, 2011 1:34 PM

I like looking at posters, but I have a difficult time with deciding what I would see based on a poster. That doesn't seem like something I would ever actually do, although I have rented a couple movies before owing to particularly ridiculous covers.

The Brave poster is pretty, Cowboys & Aliens is o.k., I'm worried that Puss In Boots is going to ignite, Sean Penn leaves me completely befuddled, Immortals is something I would have been jazzed about based solely on the poster when I was 12, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is appropriately creepy, and Crazy Stupid Love looks like it's disguising a very different film than what it wants you to think it is (which could be a good thing).

Posted by: DarthCorleone at June 23, 2011 1:40 PM

Since Brave is a Pixar movie that actually has a female character as a lead - that's highest on my list. (Ah, but will she have female friends/companions, I wonder)

I have no idea what the John Carter is, but poster design is cool.

Cowboys and Aliens is already the summer movie I'm actually looking forward to (though doesn't Olivia look rather Catherine Zeta Jones in that poster?)

Posted by: Sara Tonin at June 23, 2011 1:48 PM

That picture of Joel Edgerton is a .gif that keeps on giving.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 23, 2011 1:50 PM

Is Sean Penn playing Robert Smith or what?

Posted by: Steph at June 23, 2011 1:54 PM

I don't know what any of the other posters look like because I'm staring at the Warrior one. It looks delicious!

Posted by: Dingle Berry at June 23, 2011 2:10 PM

Brave because there's a ton of stuff happening in the poster. Gives me hope for the film.

Cowboys and Aliens, which I would have seen for the title alone, but the poster gives me Daniel Craig in chaps + badass spaceship. Yeah, I'm all over that.

Posted by: RebaSays at June 23, 2011 2:22 PM

Brave for sure and I'm a sucker for Steve Carrell so Crazy Stupid Love as well.

Posted by: FyreHaar at June 23, 2011 2:50 PM

*throws self at Daniel Craig*

Posted by: Sara H at June 23, 2011 3:16 PM

Taylor Lautner : Action Movie :: Paul Walker : Contemplative Period Piece

Or in other words, NO.

Posted by: Paultera at June 23, 2011 3:36 PM

What about Volksfest?...no love for that? It looks like some kind of 21st century Herbie, but...oh wait...never mind.

(Cowboys and Aliens)

Posted by: Mark M at June 23, 2011 3:39 PM

How about a movie poster that lines up the names with the pics? Look at "Cowboys & Aliens" -- the names are in "Hollywood importance order" but would help viewers remember who is who if they simply put the names in L-R order.

Posted by: Randomhookup at June 23, 2011 3:55 PM

Godtopus no. None of these.

Posted by: Arrogant Ambassador at June 23, 2011 4:02 PM

Warrior. Crazy Stupid Love. Cowboys & Aliens

Posted by: The Minn at June 23, 2011 4:02 PM

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. It's the big-ass "Guillermo Del Toro Presents" that sells me.

Posted by: Robert at June 23, 2011 4:04 PM

Given that the John Carter of Mars poster made me go "wat, No." and that my going to see Cowboys and Aliens is a given without the poster, I'd have to say it's a toss-up between Abduction and Don't be Afraid of the Dark.

Once my brain decided that was Taylor Lautner, Don't be Afraid of the Dark won that battle.

Posted by: sistercoyote at June 23, 2011 6:11 PM

Only the poster? John Carter. I know absolutely nothing about this movie except that Tim Riggins is in it and apparently that's enough.

Posted by: Molly at June 23, 2011 6:23 PM

Licking "Brave" apparantly means licking Kelly Macdonald's voice. I'm cool with that.

Also, that movie has Billy Connolly's voice. Words can't describe my excitement.

Posted by: Rooks at June 23, 2011 6:32 PM

I would see Brave based on that poster... actually if I knew nothing about it... kinda like 5 minutes ago, and saw the DVD case sitting on the new release Dealie-Bob (I work in retail, trust me that's what its called... unless you're across the pond where its a Dealy-Bob or sometimes a Dealy-McBob) I would buy it no questions asked on its 2 disc version at $27 or rough equivalent on BlueRay as the 3 disc unnecessary combo.

But I would say the same for "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark." Actually scrolling through the first time all I saw was Guillermo del Toro, and knew I would pick it. Although he isn't directing, which makes me sad-face.

Posted by: protoformX at June 23, 2011 7:19 PM

I think I made that Abduction poster when I was in ninth grade.

Posted by: kiyo-chan at June 23, 2011 8:13 PM

Brave (but just because it's Pixar) and Immortals. Everything else doesn't even look remotely interesting.

Posted by: Figgy at June 23, 2011 8:44 PM

Brave, Warriors (man candy!),John Carter (MAN CANDY!), and Immortals (so much man candy!!)

Posted by: Even Stevens at June 23, 2011 9:43 PM

Is... is the third "O" on the Footloose poster actually dimmed out as shown? So that it kinda spells Footlose?

Posted by: firedmyass at June 23, 2011 10:41 PM

Based on the posters, Brave and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Special Honorable Mention goes to Warriors for looking exactly like the DVD box art for a gay porno.

Posted by: Craig at June 24, 2011 12:43 AM

Warrior!! The scroll down on it alone is f**king fun.

Posted by: brdkelli at June 24, 2011 12:46 AM

Did anyone else notice how much Sean Penn looked like Sarah Jessica Parker in that poster?

Posted by: Amberlark at June 23, 2011 12:13 PM

Posted by: IneptFake at June 24, 2011 10:39 AM

Guillermo! Damn. After all of that talk, you finally went a made a film. I thought you were going to psych me out forever. I'm so happy. Just for that, I will totally take my ass to the theater and fork over my money.

Pixar Movie!!

That Abduction movie looks like an embarassment. But that Warriors poster is making me feel...funny. Please excuse me.

Posted by: Kala at June 24, 2011 11:13 AM

Crikey. That 'Footloose' movie doesn't look like much does it? Why did they bother remaking it?

Merchandising, I guess...
