Azazel Bends You To His Will With Adorableness And The Possible Reveal Of The Director for Star Wars VII

Has it really only been about a month since Disney scooped up Lucasfilm and started rampant interwebs speculation about the future of Star Wars? Yes. Yes it has. Even though Part VII isn't slated for release until 2015, rumors abound concerning the person that will helm the project. Jon Favreau, Colin Trevorrow, Guillermo Del Toro, Brad Bird, and nearly every other director with some success in Hollywood has been rumored or thrown his hat into the ring. Now Jason Flemyng possibly/maybe/sort of confirms that his pal Matthew Vaughn is directing.

Flemyng is quite lovely in that interview, no? The charm makes me wonder if he's just trying to give those poor, freezing reporters something juicy for their noble sacrifice, or if he really is in the know. Only time will tell whether Azazel has manipulated us all or dropped some encouraging news in our laps.

He's.... wayyyy more personable and sweet than I could ever have imagined, given the roles I've seen him in.

  • the_wakeful

What if Joss Whedon wrote/directed? Did I just blow your minds?

  • Fabius_Maximus

Why not Terry Gilliam? Or David Lynch?

  • the_wakeful

Because Whedon already has a proven track record writing/directing blockbusters for disney.

This… goes against everything I have ever seen him do. DAMN IT FLEMYING DON'T CONFUSE ME

  • Most people are born a blank slate, but it seems British people are genetically engineered for maximum awesomeness. It's the only explanation for all their charm.

You'd be surprised, mate. Come over here for a week and experience desolation such that you've never seen.

  • Why would I want to ruin the illusion? I'll stick to watching Sherlock and The Hour and wishing I was Ben Whishaw.

  • The Other Agent Johnson

It's the despair that makes them so funny!

Aww, he's such a little sweetheart. Even as Azazel I just wanted to wrap him in a sheepskin hug and keep him warm against the encroaching winter of cynicism.
