Archie Panjabi Calls Recent Rumors About Her Behavior on the 'Good Wife' Set Lies, All Lies

I have no idea why I am so fascinated with the behind-the-scenes drama between Julianna Margulies, the Good Wife staff and Archie Panjabi, but it probably has something to do with being a drama whore. I MAKE NO EXCUSES.

Anyway, here’s the background on the alleged feud between Archie Panjabi, who plays Kalinda, and Julianna Margulies, who plays Alicia on The Good Wife. The friction between the stars was reportedly so intense that the two hadn’t shared a scene together on The Good Wife since 2012 (in fact, Panjabi barely shared scenes with any of the cast regulars late in her run).

That all came to head in the season finale when the two finally shared a scene together, but as rumors suggested, they weren’t actually in the same room at the same time. They faked it using green screen.

With Panjabi off the show, and the season over, you’d think that the “feud” would fade away. NOT TRUE. In fact, those gossip mongering scalawags over on In Touch amped up the rumors by publishing quotes from an anonymous source:

“Archie created a hostile environment,” a source tells In Touch, noting that the 43-year-old — who has since left the show — allegedly treated the crew like her personal employees.

The source adds, “She has an abusive nature. Once, she even slammed a door in Julianna’s face!”

Apparently the 48-year-old star of the show wasn’t the only one who had drama with Archie.

“Everyone despised Archie onset,” the source adds. “They called her the ‘diva from hell.’”

Meanwhile, some speculated on the Internet (including people on THIS VERY SITE) that the friction was caused by the fact that Panjabi had won an Emmy, making Margulies jealous, which is a weird thing to suggest since Margulies has also received plenty of Emmy recognition for The Good Wife, as well as her stint on E.R. in the 90s. But who knows? Maybe one of Margulies’ people planted the source to shift the blame. Or maybe Panjabi really is a monster on the set, although she quickly took to Twitter to deny said rumors:

Now, who are you going to believe? An “anonymous” source, or a woman who took her own nephew to see the San Andreas premiere?

(Based on TK’s review of San Andreas, this may actually be considered child abuse).

Who knows who is really behind this, but it is worth noting that Josh Charles also unexpectedly left the series, and Matthew Goode has decided not to return next season as a regular cast member. Make of that what you will.

It’s probably not worth noting, but I’m going to do it anyway, that Marguiles is only three inches taller than Panjabi, yet she towers over her in the above photo. HEY! WHAT’S THAT ABOUT?
