Last month Amazon launched the pilots of their second season of original series. The idea was to have their own pilot season American Idol-style, and let the viewers vote on what gets made and what gets cut. Networks be damned!

Well, the results are in, and they’re promising. They’ve picked up the four great to middling shows, and ditched the obvious turd of the bunch: The Rebels, about a former cheerleader inheriting a football team. The question, of course, is whether audiences are going to be willing to pay Amazon Prime prices to watch five shows. Until then, though, you can watch all the pilots here for free.

The four that Amazon has picked up are:

Bosch: Titus Welliver plays a detective investigating a murder while standing trial for ANOTHER murder. Suspense! Drama!

Mozart In the Jungle: The slugline is “Sex, drugs — and classical music.” That’s pretty much all you need to know. Plus, Gael García Bernal.

The After: Eight strangers trying to survive a mysteeeerrrrious disaster. The pilot was fairly meh, but it IS Chris Carter’s brainchild, so let’s give it at least a few episodes, shall we?

Transparent: The best of the bunch. Jeffrey Tambor as a father of three who is beginning the process of transitioning to live as a woman. Gaby Hoffman, Jay Duplass, and Amy Landecker play his ill-adjusted children.

Amazon has also committed to a second season of Alpha House, the John Goodman Republican Frat house comedy.

The site is also launching a few children’s shows, including Wishenpoof, which you probably think is about genies who form an a capella group. If that’s what you assumed, let me tell you from personal experience, you will be disappointed.

Vivian Kane has decided to dedicate her life to making that singing genie show a reality.
