All Former 'Happy Endings' Cast Members Officially Employed After Elisha Cuthbert Cast as Lesbian in 'One Big Happy Family'

Adam Pally is a regular on The Mindy Project, which will more likely than not return for a third season next year; Damon Wayans is being largely wasted on New Girl at the moment; Casey Wilson will play the lead in her husband David Caspe’s new sitcom, Marry Me opposite Ken Marino; Eliza Coupe will play opposte Jay Harrington in a USA Network legal show, Benched, and now the final unemployed Happy Endings cast member has landed a gig.

Elisha Cuthbert will star in the Ellen Degeneres produced sitcom, One Big Happy Family for NBC, opposite Nick Zano. Cuthbert will play a lesbian who lives her her straight best friend (Zano). They decide to have a child and a family together through artificial insemination, though Cuthbert’s character ends up getting pregnant right after Zano’s character finds the love of his life and gets married. Complications and hijinks ensue.

Now that all the Happy Endings cast members have been re-employed, I feel this GIF is necessary.

p.s. Yes, yes, Dave got a job, too, and no, it’s not at a car wash. Zachary Knighton will star in Fox’s Weird Loners, which centers on four relationship-phobic people who are unexpectedly thrust into each other’s lives and form an unlikely bond in a Queens, New York, townhouse. He also has an upcoming arc on Parenthood.

I bet Dave's show is the only one to get a second season out of the new series.

Please don't remind me of Girl Next Door.

    Such a letdown.

Dave is a footnote. Nicely done.

Guys! I'm changing my name to Dustin!

It would have been OK to just leave him out.

Cuthbert did play an Ellen-inspired faux lesbian in an episode of Happy Endings.

I was kind of in awe of the comedic timing, delivery and likability Elisha Cuthbert showed off by the end of Happy Endings' run so maybe she could make this show work.

I'm looking forward to Eliza Coupe's show.
