Adorable 'Orange Is the New Black' Set Photos an Update on Laura Prepon's Status in the Show

We don’t know yet when season two of Orange is the New Black will return, but we do know that they’re filming the season now, and that it is likely that the show will return earlier than next summer. We also know that Laura Prepon will only return to close out her character. According to Buzzfeed, they’re going to wrap that storyline up quickly, as Prepon has only signed on to one more episode. How do you wrap it up in one episode? Either a transfer or a release, I would guess. The release would be a surprise, since there was no indication she was getting out soon. I doubt, either, that they will kill the character off, as I’m assuming they’ll want to leave the door open for her return, in case this is simply a negotiation tactic by Laura Prepon, who only signed on to one season, and apparently, is not quick to sign on to another. Why, when it’s the only high profile role Prepon has had since The 70’s Show? Beats me.

Meanwhile, we don’t have much information about season two, other than that there will be new female characters, and a quote from Taylor Schilling: “All of the characters and all of the dynamics are just going deeper. It’s just getting fuller and richer and to me, more compelling.”

How wonderfully vague.

We do, however, have adorable on-set photos from the Orange is the New Black Instagram account.
