10 Days Remain Until "Community" Leaves Us: The Countdown Begins

Two “Community” related posts in one day. You must be sick of this. Get over it. Sack up. Deal with it. One of the most beloved shows on network television is leaving in 10 days. It’s going into hibernation, and who knows when it will wake up. February? March? Next summer? Will “Community” get the dreaded summer burn off? Or will it simply replace the Chelsea Handler show on Wednesdays when that show gets shitcanned in March? If so, it’ll show in the same hour with Whitney Cummings and I don’t want to think about all the infectious diseases “Community” might catch, nor the idea of a crossover audience between the two sitcoms. Could there possibly be someone who watches and enjoys both “Whitney” and “Community”? I shudder to think.

But wait: There is a reason for the post other than to begin the “Community” countdown. And that’s to present to you the fall/winter finale dates, and remind you that there’s almost nothing on television between December 18th and January 3rd, which is ironic because for many of us, that’s when we want television the most. Now, there’s nothing but holiday specials to distract you from you family and in most cases, family is actually preferable.

“The Amazing Race” finale: December 11th.

“Chuck” two hour series finale: January 27th

“Community” fall finale: December 8th. Return date unknown.

“House” fall finale: Tonight. Return date January.

“The Office” and “Parks and Recreation” fall finales; December 8th. Return date: January 12th.

“Once Upon a Time” fall finale; December 11th. Return: Mid January.

“Parenthood’ fall finale: Tomorrow (November 29th). Return date January 3rd (season finale February 28th)

“Psych” fall finale; December 14th. Return date: February.

“Terra Nova” Season finale; December 19th

“Prime Suspect” Season/Series Finale: December 15th.

“Up All Night’ fall finale: December 7th. Return date: January 12th (on Thursdays).

“The Walking Dead” fall finale: Last night. Return date: February 12th.

“American Horror Story” season finale: December 14th.

“Sons of Anarchy” season finale: December 6th.

“Dexter’ and “Homeland” season finales: December 18th.

“Survivor” season finale: December 18th.

“The League” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” season finales: December 15th.

“Modern Family” and “Happy Endings” fall finales: December 7th (there are no new episodes this week)

Well excuse much, but you forgot that Boardwalk Empire is ending too! It may not seem like much to you, Mr. Rowles, but...some of us haven't got a whole lot going for them other than their cherished and beloved stories (especially the ones about booze). I realize that I'm most likely the only complete and utter loser here, but damnit if I'm not freaking out about having nothing to watch until spring! I have to keep reminding myself that Game of Thrones and Mad Men will return, for fear that I will implode from sudden lack of t.v. programming! Don't leave me Boardwalk, SOA, Community, Dexter, The League, Sunny!

Is it too early to pour one out for the homies at Greendale?

I've come to the conclusion that smart comedy cannot succeed on network television these days. 30 Rock, Community,& Parks & Recreation should be in the top ten rated shows, but they simply can't compete with all the insipid programing out there. Unless a show features c level celebrities dancing, teenagers singing in a lame talent show, or the morbidly obese losing a few pounds, the mouth breathing audiences that advertisers covet will not watch. I give up.

So if Sunny and The League are ending soon, does that mean Archer will be starting again in the near future? If so, sploosh...

Ok, I know this isn't the place for this, but I have nowhere else to vent. I just opened up Pajiba and got the full screen pop up add that had audio, which I had to wait to skip and ALSO a pop up add under it (state farm I believe) which also had audio, which I couldn't close until I closed the first full screen add. Both audio's played over each other. It was fucking annoying.

It's getting really bad guys. I love this site, but can't really deal with how hard it is to navigate these days.

Just wanted to let you know.

"One of the most beloved shows on network television is leaving in 10 days."

If it were one of the most beloved shows on network television, it probably wouldn't be leaving in ten days.
