Mindhole Blowers -- Holy Sh*t: Tyrion Lannister’s Grizzled Sellsword, Bronn, Used to Be a Huge and Hugely Lame Pop Star

Tyrion Lannister’s sellsword Bronn has been killing it this season (literally and figuratively, of course). He doesn’t show up on-screen all that often, but when he does, it’s always a treat; his smirk is so desperately needed in a show as dark as “Game of Thrones.” But many years before becoming one-half of the greatest bromance in Westeros history, the actor who plays Bronn, Jerome Flynn, was one-half of the greatest English pop duo of the 1990s, Robson & Jerome.
Maybe “greatest” is coming on a bit too strong, considering they were a covers group, but Robson & Jerome were extremely popular, racking up three #1 singles in the U.K., including the top selling song of 1995 (“Unchained Melody,” which they first sang on their TV show, “Solider Soldier”).

In fact, it was “Soldier Soldier,” and that version of “Unchained Melody,” that got the attention of Simon Cowell, who persuaded them to release the song as a single. It eventually appeared on their debut album, Robson & Jerome, which was also the biggest seller of 1995, besting even Oasis’ monstrous (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? They even met the queen (not Cersei)! Robson & Jerome released one further record, 1996’s Take Two, before going their separate ways.
Here are some of their finest videos:
