Finally, The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Red Carpet Photo We've All Been Waiting For

So, we’ve all seen Star Wars now, yes?

If you haven’t, get thee to the nearest cinema, fool!

Otherwise we’ve all imbibed it, some of us multiple times; we’ve analysed it and waxed poetic over it and noted any reservations we might have had about it (and then promptly put them into perspective because the movie did largely exactly what it needed to do).

The dust, then — though not the financial dust — is beginning to settle.

So it’s nice that even after all this time; after all the instantly iconic backstage photos, and all the amazing Instagram red carpet photos, we can still be gifted with images bubbling up to the surface of the internet.

Specifically the best image out of the whole pack — backstage, red carpet, or otherwise.

Maybe some of you have already seen it, but I don’t care.

Okay, I apologise for that Gwendolyn Christie ruse, but look at it!

It’s glorious. Everything’s going on.

John Boyega and Daisy Ridley’s heads, craned at impossible angles, gazing adoringly at each other, completely awash in rapturous joy at the eye of the colossal storm in which they now find their 23-year old selves.

JJ Abrams’ stilted pose with perfectly symmetrically posed cyborg hands; and an expression that — well, that’s not the expression of the director of the likely highest grossing film of all time. That’s someone being told that yes, I’m afraid we did accidentally serve you the laxative-laced Margarita, so sorry sir!

And then there’s the icing on the cake: BB-8 and Adam Driver having a moment. Having the moment.

What’s going on?! Has BB-8 just bleeped something threatening at Kylo Ren? Is this a public overspill of backstage feeling? Is that the first time Driver is seeing BB-8? Does he know there are droids in Star Wars?

These are things we’ll never know. But at least we can bask in the perfection that is this image.
