The Pajiba 10 — For Your Consideration: Tom Hiddleston

As many of you who have been around Pajiba for a number of years already know, around the 4th of July each year, voting begins on our Annual Pajiba 10, a collection of the 10 Most Bangable Folks on the planet according to the more eclectic, less mainstream, and strangely, often more British sensibilities of our readership. This year will be the 5th Annual Pajiba 10. In our efforts again to diversify the list, throughout the month of June, we will run the occasional For Your Consideration Posts featuring actors and actresses who have not yet been heavily considered during the voting process. We begin today with Tom Hiddleston, who I believe will make a hell of a run this year, thanks to his newfound celebrity in the Marvel universe, his impressions, and roles in Midnight in Paris and War Horse. He kind of strikes me as a British Sam Rockwell crossed with a young Gary Oldman. He’s definitely someone you want to keep in mind when voting opens up.

    honestly, it;s not just that he;s gorgeous (which he is). It's everything else, it's that he has such an easygoing demeanor, that he can rap and dance and do an impression of basically everyone he;s worked with, or that he;s honest to god smart, usually smarter than the people interviewing him. and the topper, that he doesn;t act like it. I saw him in an interview where they told him he was voted the hottest from the avengers and he couldn't believe it. he;s just so... hiddles. and it;s an impressive feat when you have a movie of superheroes where the one with largest number of screaming fangirls is the bad guy! :)

And the britishness and his gentle voice and politeness and love of shakespeare and horses.... I could go on for a while. He's LITERALLY a perfect human being. I love his natural blonde curly hair (but the ginge is hottest), it makes him look like a puppy :)

    Ahhh Hiddleston. My new love. I have been waiting anxiously for Pajiba's top 10 just so I can scream to the world about my new boyfriend. This utterly delightful man has been permanently moved to the top of my Five Freebies list. I'll understand if most of you don't comprehend the enormity of this statement. After all, in the past I've tried to keep my Clive Owen love quiet and between just him and I. But what you must understand is that my Clive Owen love has been going on for years. Years. I've loved him since I happened to catch Greenfingers on a rainy Saturday afternoon. My love affair with Clive Owen has existed longer than my love affair with my very own husband. The acknowledgment that I would immediately divorce my beloved for Clive Owen should the occasion call for it, was written into our wedding vows. For God's sake Pajibans, I STILL thought Clive was handsome withat that dead caterpllar/mustache on his face! That's true love. Yet now, Mr. Hiddleston, with his dreamy voice, and his cardigan wearing Shakespeare quoting, delightful dancing self has snuck in and claimed the number one spot on Kelly's Five Freebies List. Like a terribly handsome thief in the night he has plucked me from the warm bosom of Clive and I am forever doomed to be a giddy, giggly Hiddles fan girl.

    It's not just the looks. It's the intelligence, the humor, and the talent. And let's face it, looks plus all the rest are hard to find in appearance-obsessed Hollywood, which is probably why lady Pajibans are so fascinated by British actors, who seem to have all of that in spades. Who's the American equivalent to Hiddleston -- Eton and Cambridge-educated, RADA-trained, theatre origins, obscenely talented, and gorgeous eyes? Off the top of my head, I can't think of any Broadway/Shakespeare in the Park/Yale Drama types with fabulous pecs now making movies. What's a woman to do but lust over imports?
