“Lost: The Complete Series” comes out on DVD today, and I think we can pretty much put an end to “Lost” coverage for the foreseeable future. Unless, of course, there are massive revelations in the DVD package that need be explicated.

This, I believe, is an appropriate send-off for the series.

Oh. So that's what "Jack Face" means. I thought people were just mispronouncing "jerk" all these 6 years.

I don't care what you east coast elites here at Pajiba think: I'm getting that damned complete set (with the Island! and Senet! and The New Man in Charge!) today. And I'll proudly display it on my coffee table.

Say what you will about Jack; I think Matthew Fox came through this season and anchored what was otherwise a very flighty season.

Yep, Fox and his amazing portrayal of Jack in s6 would be the only reason for me to revisit that shitty, shitty, rape of all that was potentially good about Lost.

My friends and I used to play a Lost drinking game. You had to take a shot if Jack cried. We eventually had to remove that from the rules, given how often it ensured that our drinking game ended in vomit. Thank you and fuck you, Jack Shepard, for every single one of those hangovers.

RobP - I've contemplated getting the Complete Set because I'm a whore for boxes and stuff. But, my collection already has the first 4 seasons. *sigh*

Hee. I remember a pretty popular meme that went around all time the show was on: "Jack's crying. It must be Wednesday". We also nicknamed him "Jears". He was ALWAYS crying!

I feel your pain Zerath. I've purchased Cowboy Bebop like four times. Granted, I've sold olders sets and individual DVDs to recoup some of that cost, but I've spent so much more money buying them than I really needed to. That said, I always consider it money well-spent.

As for Lost, I always knew they'd release a complete series set and that I'd always want it, so I refrained from picking up the seasons. That said, if they hadn't been on Netflix Instant for the past year, I dunno if I could've done it. In spite of this site's mixed feelings about the show, I think Godtopus for this opportunity to buy the whole thing in one go.

i knew this day would come. i already have the seasons 1-5 dvds so i won't be buying the complete series. however, do i want to buy the season 6 set? i'm one of those that HATED the ending though i still like the characters and the mythology. just would have been nice to get some resolution instead of what i feel was a cop out. i guess there's no hurry to go out and buy.

and for those that are going to say, "get over it already," all i can say is, "blow me!" preferably while stimulating my prostate.

I spent the $50 (PS: Canadians, you get $20 off a previous season if you buy S6 at HMV). The bonus feature with Walt, Hurley and Ben was worth my $50, frankly.
