The Five Worst Funniest Films Lists on YouTube

A Seriously, Seriously Random List / Dustin Rowles

Seriously Random Lists | November 2, 2009 | Comments (41)

You ever wonder who the real audience for movies like Black Knight, Blades of Glory, most of the Adam Sandler and Will Ferrel oevre, and half the spoof movies are? I mean: they make a lot of money, and yet I’d be hard pressed to identify anyone that I know who willingly views them.

Well, now we know who is responsible. People on YouTube.

Here’s their story:

"FlashForward" S1/E6 Recap: "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps"" | Joss Whedon Bids on Terminator Franchise

Comments

#1 reeeeeeally likes Jim Carrey.

Me and my roommate watched Scary Movie on Halloween...and we laughed. A lot. WE WERE DRUNK! We then watched a marathon of Roseanne Halloween episodes. I've decided that somehow I'm going to copy Darlene's Tippi Hedrin covered in crows and blood and eyeballs The Birds costume.

Posted by: Julie at November 2, 2009 4:38 PM

Wow. I thought that people tried to forget these movies existed. Their "stars" sure did.

There is no accounting for taste.

Posted by: Fredo at November 2, 2009 4:39 PM

Those movies are the most funniest movies.

Posted by: Evan at November 2, 2009 4:44 PM

Those lists were so bad I couldn't even watch them.

Posted by: Alexandra at November 2, 2009 4:46 PM

I'm not actually going to watch any of these, but my question is: did you actually watch a WHOLE BUNCH of these stupid montages to determine the five worst? If so, my greatest sympathies.

Posted by: MM at November 2, 2009 4:52 PM

And y'all wonder why movies and TV ted to be soooo stupid?
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you:
Umericuns!
Making the lowest common denominator an art form.

Not gonna lie, I only came into this post for the header pic. Now I'm leaving again. Before the dumb rubs off.

Posted by: Skitz at November 2, 2009 5:06 PM

We all have our guilty pleasures (I personally love Hot Rod), but no one should ever admit to:

#1. Seeing Meet the Spartans
#2. Publishing a list that features Meet the Spartans in any capacity, unless the category is "Laziest hack film ever made".

The new "spoof" movies are so bad, I used to make my employees watch and give me a 500 word essay on the film when they screwed up at the video store I ran. Epic Movie still horrifies me.

Posted by: sammonland at November 2, 2009 5:08 PM

Blades of Glory is nowhere near as offensively bad as most of these films.

Posted by: Steph at November 2, 2009 5:35 PM

"Silly ninjas! Trixs arr for kids!"

"Die vile children!" Slice slice thud.

You don't mess with ninjas.

Posted by: mrcreosote at November 2, 2009 5:35 PM

Good list, original topic, but I have a question: where the hell did the Joss Whedon post disappear to? I read it, tried to post a comment and then it disappeared from the main page. *sad face*

Posted by: the_wakeful at November 2, 2009 5:41 PM

Also: very clever, skitz, very clever.

Posted by: the_wakeful at November 2, 2009 5:42 PM

*cocks shotgun, shoots at Skitz*

I hear ya loud & clear. Don't want ya to suffer.

When did people start posting slideshows on YouTube? And who watches them? Does EVERYONE have oodles of free time except me???

Posted by: MelBivDevoe at November 2, 2009 5:45 PM

Wait.

People actually make youtube "videos" of lists?

Posted by: Tsuru at November 2, 2009 5:46 PM

I love how in the #2 video, the guy actually took the time to add "these movies ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Because I was a little hesitant at first, but those thirteen exclamation points really sealed the deal for me!

Posted by: Jeremy Feist at November 2, 2009 6:01 PM

OK. I watched one. I really wanted to watch the rest but then dammit, I don't want to give these retards more views.

There needs to be an minimum intelligence requirement for making and posting youtube videos. This must end.

Posted by: figgy at November 2, 2009 6:06 PM

While, I am guilty of watching truly stupid movies (The Night of the Leapus, remake of The Blob, to name just two, ahem)this person's use You Tube adds an extra layer of effort that propels this mess straight into depths beyond the earth's crust smack into the magma, unfortunately only figuratively.

My confessed unremitting movie viewing dumbness exists only in my mind and now here, buried in Pajiba comments where 'tis unlikely to do me any lasting harm. However, I couldn't pass this wreck without stopping to stare and that will require time to recover.

Posted by: NeoCleo at November 2, 2009 6:08 PM

#5 confuses me. She (presumably) has got Sex Drive and Robin Hood: Men in Tights, which may both have debatable merits (I happen to enjoy them), but in general are a completely different brand of humor than all of the others listed. Ditto #1 with 14: extremely low-brow entries and then the totally dry Napoleon Dynamite in the top spot.

Mostly consistent with the badness all in all though.

Posted by: Amanda6 at November 2, 2009 6:11 PM

Holy living fuck, Napoleon Fucking Dynamite the funniest film of all time... how inbred can you get?

Although, in fairness, each of those list had at least one watchable film on them, not funny, watchable.

Posted by: George at November 2, 2009 6:26 PM

there were a few decent movies on some of their lists.......but did i really see somebody say Norbit was funny? I went on a first date to that movie. It was also our last date, I blame the movie. It's a destroyer of souls and dreams

Posted by: Randy at November 2, 2009 6:38 PM

Okay, I couldn't get through all of the lists but these people must be 1) smoking the good shit or 2) tweens, because I swear I saw Little Man on one of those lists.

When I was 12 I used to think some pretty stupid movies were funny so my money is on these lists being a thing that kids in middle school do for fun. I used to love Encino Man and Son In Law so I can't cast any judgment.

Posted by: becks at November 2, 2009 7:16 PM

I still can't believe I watched "Showgirls" again last night...

Well, I was drinking heavily, so there's that partially to blame.

Posted by: Beckster "Tri-Tip Goddess" at November 2, 2009 7:32 PM

This is simply baffling. 95% of these movies are completely unwatchable. Like, if you try, you will literally die. It's the Ring for people who have ever watched an episode of Jeopardy.

Posted by: Jenilane at November 2, 2009 8:48 PM

Epic Movie? Really? Seriously? No joke? Honestly? The funniest part of that movie was:
Scene: Paris Hilton stands on a street corner saying "I'm SO hotttt." Four kids fall on her head
aaaand scene.
And that was the funniest, aka least indicative that the writer had a cinderblock dropped on his head at a young age. Doctor's analysis: People are fucking weird.

Posted by: esme at November 2, 2009 8:55 PM

The effing LOVE GURU. They have got to be messing with us. The only explanation I will accept is that someone anticipated this list and started a contest amongst all of YouTube.

Posted by: jenilane at November 2, 2009 8:56 PM

Sir, I refuse.

I know perfectly well that if I click on one of the links above I can walk away feeling superior but someone will die. Or a new famewhore will be born. It's really the same thing. I refuse to press the button in the box.

Posted by: greer at November 2, 2009 9:24 PM

Jim Carrey's early work should be nowhere near Meet the Spartans. :/

Posted by: duckandcover at November 2, 2009 9:37 PM

All these people should be waterboarded with cancer. Fill their mouths with tumors and blastoma, then film it. That's funny, right there.

Posted by: fimbulwinter at November 2, 2009 10:04 PM

I feel like I'll get tarred and feathered for saying this, but Ace Ventura was friggin' funny. And so was Robin Hood Men in Tights.

That said, I only fast-forwarded through the first of those videos because I couldn't bring myself to watch the rest for fear that my brain would melt.

Posted by: Bequafina at November 2, 2009 10:55 PM

Dear Dustin:

There is a letter "u" in "oevre", and I'm not telling you where it is.

Posted by: spellingskillsmakeoneappearintelligentwhichisimportantinthiscontext at November 2, 2009 11:22 PM

I once talked to Jorma Taccone on the phone and he asked me if I ever saw "Hot Rod." I paused because I didn't want to tell him it did play on my TV once, but I was asleep within the first few minutes. I slowly said, "No." He said, "It's alright not that many people did. And if you ever do, I'm sorry in advance."

Posted by: The Land Snark at November 3, 2009 12:08 AM

I think I may have actually died while watching those lists.

Posted by: Nadha at November 3, 2009 12:26 AM

Oh, Pam... you... and Will?
My heart still hurts.
I could stand losing you to Jim. His blank stares into the camera almost made me love him as much as you do.
But... Will? I'm not talking about Ferrell himself, as much as YOU appearing in 'Walk Hard'.
No. I can't deal, babe.
I am coming. Coming to Hollywood and freeing you from the god-awful spell that binds you!
I will single-handedly save you from mediocrity and elevate you to actressin' GREATNESS!

Meh, who am I kiddin'?
You're a middling talent who will have a short-lived sit-com on NBC after 'The Office' ends it run. You'll settle in as a Happy Madison romantic interest until you get old (three years from now) and then we'll never see you again, unless we break down and buy a ticket to some summer stock production of "Our Town".

EVERYONE knows that Creed is the REAL breakout star!

Posted by: Spender at November 3, 2009 2:11 AM

#5 looks like chicken feet soup covered in roadkill, aside from Dumb and Dumber. Got me through a bong-rippin' summer.
#4 isn't a complete loss. He likes Anchorman.
Borat makes some appearances in the other lists, which makes sense.
A couple of the Scary Movies actually had some funny moments, so I'll allow it.
I was confused about #1 for the first 10 picks. There were some understandable choices there. Childhood favorites. Jim Carrey fan. I get it. Then Little Man and Norbit happened.
Yup. Those two shit splats could ruin a Victoria's Secret runway show.
I'll bet looking these up was both the best and the worst 3 hours Dustin will spend this week.

Posted by: Kballs at November 3, 2009 7:54 AM

I spend so much time on Pajiba that I sometimes forget what crappy taste the rest of the world has. It's better not to know. I'm not watching those lists because I can see that the spartans movie is on at least one of them, and it's too early in the morning for my soul to be crushed.

I can understand laughing at some really dumb movie when you're wasted, but making a whole list of shitty movies and then finding the time to make a slideshow of said list on YouTube? You people are what's wrong with the entertainment industry today. You are why "movie movies" keep getting made and Leno stays on the air.

Posted by: DeadBessie at November 3, 2009 7:57 AM

Ace Ventura was hilarious.

Posted by: Rally at November 3, 2009 10:11 AM

You know what's scary? Looking at this list after watching Idiocracy. It makes you feel like you're watching the prequel.

Posted by: Doctor Controversy at November 3, 2009 10:23 AM

Who cares!!! My boyfriend also agrees with me. He is 10 years older than me, lol. We met online at age-gap club -- http://AgelessMeet.COM/. Maybe you wanna check out or tell your friends.

Posted by: Kyra at November 4, 2009 1:40 AM

My guiltiest pleasure is still Joe Dirt. I will watch that and laugh audibly anytime it's on cable. What can I say? I'm white trach from the holler and it speaks to me.
