The Five Defining Pop-Culture Moments of the Presidential Campaign

A Seriously Random List XIII / Dustin Rowles

Seriously Random Lists | November 4, 2008 | Comments (13)

If you never watched a minute of the news over the last year, didn’t own a TV, and lived in a cave, you’d still somehow be familiar with the top five defining moments of the 2008 Presidential Election. Here they are:

5. Sarah Palin with Katie Couric

4. Obama Girl

4. “The Colbert Report’s” John McCain Green Screen Challenge

2. Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin on “SNL”

1. “Yes We Can”

I'm glad that Joe the Fucktard, oops! I mean Joe the Plumber didn't make this list.

What do you mean by "Pop-culture"

If by "pop" you mean getting ridiculed on SNL then I guess 4 and 3 qualify. If you meant internet douche culture a la PerezHilton/Joe Francis then that's Obama-Slut; the Katie Couric interview is just sad, no "pop" there. Which leaves us with: "Yes We Can," and ITS significance to culture will be defined by how well the Obama campaign delivers, today.

Yay for Dustin being back! I liked yesterdays posts and everything (not enough to comment), but I'm glad things are back to normal in pajibaland.

God, the Couric/Fail-in video always makes me want to punch myself...then punch middle-America.

By middle-America, I really mean the stereotypical, ignorant, idiotic people who allow misconceptions of Obama by Republicans to influence how they vote. Essentially, everyone in that "Al Jazeera in Ohio" video.

I guess if I don't vote Republican, I'm un-American. **ARGH!**

Every time I watch it, I replay the Yes We Can video at least 4 times in a row. Love it.

I never saw that Yes We Can video until today, and it had an extra special meaning in light of the election results. Lovely. And there's some Ed Kowalczyk in there, too, which doesn't hurt me.

I don't know what's best: number 4 or number 4

What, no mention of "Whos Nalin Palin?"
