Posted by: Danielle at September 20, 2011 1:21 AM

Wait who is the hot Sure Girl Thing?

Posted by: YesPlease at September 20, 2011 1:35 AM

That would be the sure thing from The Sure Thing.

Posted by: Arran at September 20, 2011 2:33 AM

*The Thing You Do (my two favorites inside each other...)

Posted by: zeke the pig at September 20, 2011 6:24 AM

Damn you for that last image.

Posted by: MelBivDevoe at September 20, 2011 9:00 AM

Oh 80s hair, you are you're own special thing.

Posted by: tamatha at September 20, 2011 9:27 AM

*your own special thing.

Dammnit. I notice the typo right after I hit post comment.

Posted by: tamatha at September 20, 2011 9:28 AM

I nominate the term The Llama and the accompanying jpeg to be used in place of and as representation for Taylor Lautner, hereafter referred to as "The Llama", in the Pajibaverse from this day forward. Seconded?

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at September 20, 2011 9:29 AM

Also? Is is racist to point out that what's-his-name looks like an alpaca? (That is an alpaca, right?)

Posted by: tamatha at September 20, 2011 9:29 AM

Alpaca/llama tomato/tomahto. He's an Andean beast of burden is what he is. But not mine, he'll never be mine.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at September 20, 2011 9:40 AM

I'm not sure what would be racist about it seeing as his family isn't from South America. Or did you not want to put down the hard working llama race by claiming one of their most illustrious members is really a closeted alpaca?

While I don't want to put him down too hard (my friend met him at the Abduction wrap party and described him as "a very nice kid"),I totally second The Llama. Finally he has a seat in the Great Hall along side those other stalwarts of thespianism, The Emu and Charming Potato. Congratulations kid.

Posted by: Socrates_Johnson at September 20, 2011 9:51 AM

This whole article was a set up for "Dear God What Is That Thing".

Well done.

All in favor of "The Llama" say, "Aye"...and the motion carries.

Posted by: NateS1973 at September 20, 2011 10:01 AM

Mrs. J, I third the motion to enshrine The Llama in the pantheon of Animal/Vegetable Doppelganger Actors (henceforth to be known as the AVDA).

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm pretty sure I first saw reference to The Llama on either Filmdrunk or Warming Glow.

Posted by: Groundloop at September 20, 2011 10:04 AM

There needs to be a mineral added to the pantheon so that the whole trifecta is covered. I'd nominate the Rock, but I don't know if self applied nicknames are appropriate. It'd be nice to get a woman in there as well. Y'know, equality and all that jazz.

Posted by: Socrates_Johnson at September 20, 2011 10:14 AM

I'm onboard with expanding it to the AVMDA, and I'd nominate January Jones. I don't know enough about mineralogy to suggest an appropriate one to describe her, so I'll leave it to the more edumacated Pajibans to weigh in on that.

Posted by: Groundloop at September 20, 2011 10:24 AM

TK has well more than 10 Things He Hates About Us.

as representation for Taylor Lautner, hereafter referred to as "The Llama",

Taylor Llamautner?

------

I'd like to tack an addendum onto that: it would be nice if it came with a first name, cf. Charming Potato.

Angry Llama?

Scrunchy Llama?

Toiling Llama?

Posted by: zeke the pig at September 20, 2011 10:43 AM

Winter Llama?

Taylor Llamautner does have a nice ring to it.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at September 20, 2011 11:09 AM

Man-Thing (the movie) was bad. So, so bad.

Posted by: Todd at September 20, 2011 11:11 AM

Trained Llama? I dunno. I'm a fan portmanteaus, so Taylor Llamautner probably wins.

Posted by: Socrates_Johnson at September 20, 2011 11:16 AM

You crazy kids, not knowing 'the sure thing'. great, leering opening montage of ms sheridan, but also one of my favorite lines in a movie: "Who invented liquid soap and why?"

Posted by: Tao at September 20, 2011 11:22 AM

+1 for including the original Thing From Another World.

Posted by: sean at September 20, 2011 11:23 AM

Winter Llama rolls off the tongue very nicely.

But hell, any Llama-based name will sit well with me.

Posted by: zeke the pig at September 20, 2011 11:24 AM

I LOVE our Pajiba Menagerie. And I might be wrong, but I think I've helped in creating both The Emu and The Llama and I couldn't be happier.

Posted by: Figgy at September 20, 2011 11:25 AM

Do llamas and emus eat potatos?

Posted by: zeke the pig at September 20, 2011 11:33 AM

The Dull-Eye Llama?

Posted by: Caspar at September 20, 2011 11:38 AM

The Abdominal Llama? Cause he can't keep his shirt on? And because it kind of sounds like Abominable?

I see what you did there, and I like it.

The Abdominable Llama.

Mind you, hopefully all of this will be moot as his career sinks faster than his very own dense-block head.

Posted by: zeke the pig at September 20, 2011 11:58 AM

This is some old school Pajiba right here.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at September 20, 2011 1:16 PM

I 'member when the Defamer called Owen Wilson the Butterscotch Stallion, may we appropriate, or misappropriate that as well?

I third the motion on the Abdominal Llama

and never forget Baby Goose.

Posted by: kirbyjay at September 20, 2011 1:41 PM

I heartily approve of "the Llama", to join the Emu and the Charming Potato.

Also, I like this list for reasons I can't explain.

Posted by: MM at September 20, 2011 2:08 PM

I would have added "Very Bad Things" AKA "Karma is a big fat bitch"

I'm voting for Taylor Llamautner.

Posted by: Paultera at September 20, 2011 4:03 PM

Could we appoint someone as Mmama Llama?

Llamas are, naturally, "winters." (If you've ever had your "colors done," then you know what I mean.) "Winters" usually look most striking in hues with a bluish-silvery undertone; no orangey tints, please. If you ever tried to slip an orange scarf on a llama, the truth of my words will be revealed to you in an instant. However, the alpaca is more of an "autumn," meaning he/she looks best in fall foliage colors. So, while it doesn't appear to be racist to compare Mr./Ms. Alpaca with what's-his-name, it does strike me as a bit ---color-ist. Certainly it could hurt the feelings of the plucky little alpaca featured here.

Posted by: Stinky at September 20, 2011 6:16 PM

Every time I look at that llama, I start howling with laughter. "Taylor Llamautner" and the "Abdominal/Abdominable Llama" are inspired. I am going to wake up my family if I don't stop laughing. Come to think of it, "Taylor Llamautner and the Abdominable Llamas" is a good name for a band.
