You forgot Britney Spears in "real life." Do a gazillion paparazzi photos count as "film?"

No. It didn't work for her at all. I am not 100% convinced it worked for Tunney either. Portman, Weaver, Moore, definitely.

I am a bit of an expert on this topic. I've had a thing for bald/shaved women for quite some time now. I have accepted it.

Posted by: Forbiddendonut at August 10, 2010 5:13 PM

You're starting to make me think I should make a film where I shave my own head. I am apparently adorable and have rather large eyes.

Posted by: Nadine at August 10, 2010 5:13 PM

I would murder each and every one of you for one night with Helen Slater in her Supergirl outfit.

Submit your lives for Sinestro's brief glee.

Posted by: Sinestro at August 10, 2010 5:28 PM

Are there really even more than 5 actual "female shaved head transformations in film?"

Posted by: RobP at August 10, 2010 5:35 PM

No Ilia from Star Trek: The Motion Picture? I call shenanigans.

Posted by: Stoat(Cat) at August 10, 2010 5:46 PM

What about that Splice chick?

What about that Splice chick?

Posted by: BWeaves at August 10, 2010 5:54 PM

Oh, I see. I confused "in" with "on", as though the list was for actual scenes of female shaving. God damn prepositions.

Posted by: RobP at August 10, 2010 5:57 PM

Cool list. I'd have put Demi first, but that's just me.

If I thought I could pull it off I'd shave my head. Think of the time it would save every day getting ready for work. Especially me, my hair absorbs humidity like a sponge, transforming me into Albert Einstein if I'm not vigilant with the anti-frizz serums.

Alas, I think I'm no where near as cute as Nadine and I need my hair for sexually dimorphic ornamentation so I can attract a mate.

Posted by: Viking at August 10, 2010 6:07 PM

The Britney Spears horse-shittery aside, bal' headed women need to get more love in this world.

I know you are just making your SRL on hot chicks shaving their heads in film, but I found a pretty comprehensive list of most if not all shaved heads for roles:
http://en.academic.ru/dic.nsf/enwiki/481038

Here's my question. I'm a dude and I have a full thick head of hair, but for the last couple of years have shaved it bald. Now I am letting it grow out, mainly from negligence on my part. now people don't recognize me when I go places and my bald friends stare me down because they thought I was part of their cool club. Mrs. Nedra seems pretty indifferent about it and I would like to go back to bald but I am not sure what to do.

Posted by: Nedra at August 10, 2010 6:35 PM

geez. one would think that Illia from first trek movie would have made it on here. then again, her entire race was bald-headed, it doesn't really count. except that she was hot ere way.

Me too.

I looked freaky when my hair fell out. But, plus side, my eyes looked amazingly blue! I wish I had looked as cool as Helen Slater

Posted by: DeckOfficer!! at August 10, 2010 8:47 PM

Hey, great profile! How long have you been single? No sex for a year??!! wow!! don't think I can make that!! especially when it comes so easy to hook up with some hot models and sexy chicks on ____Sugarmommamatch.----c o m -_____ the place you really should not miss out!! just think about how sensual and beautiful they are!! hwee...

Posted by: ashly at August 10, 2010 9:25 PM

That spambot goes straight for the self-esteem, I tell you.

Posted by: Dingles at August 10, 2010 9:53 PM

Britney Spears? Dude, I thought that was Andre Agassi?

I will NOT see myself out. Hurl me as far as you can, the subway's too damned expensive.

Aaw you guys make an Owlgirl blush!

I rocked the pixie cut for a few years at Uni and I have pretty big eyes.
I'd love to shave it off and donate it to a Wigs for Cancer kids charity or something more gracefully named(I haven't had my full dose of caffeine yet but I'm working on that) but my mother, BF and sister have threatening me with all sorts of things if actually do it.

I will, eventually, get it cut and donate it but I think I'll let it grow a few more inches before I go in for the chop. My hair would make an AWESOME wig and if I'm allowed to make requests I would totes for serial request the wig is styled into a 50's updo. A complex one.

Also, you guys are cuter than me, lets all shave our heads

Posted by: Nadine at August 11, 2010 5:49 AM

Sinead O'Connor: hands-down the most beautiful woman with a shaved head in history. Yes, even purtier than Natalie Portman.

Posted by: Samantha T at August 11, 2010 7:39 AM

I've always wanted to "rock a pixie cut" or out and out shave my head, but, tragically, when I have short hair my head looks like a pea on a cinder block.

I agree that Sinead O'Connor was especially gorgeous because of the shaved head. Natalie Portman was beautiful in spite of it. Natalie Portman is just plain beautiful. Am I splitting hairs?

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at August 11, 2010 8:54 AM

I had a friend who kept electric clippers at work (she did hair cutting on the side). I borrowed her clippers during lunch break one day and came out of my office with 1/4" hair length. It was a nice length to have, but I had to be uber careful about the sun (I live in Florida). I kept it that way for 3 years. As far as the list above goes, I think Natalie Portman looks the best, but she's very young with excellent bone structure. She can still look girly/feminine despite the lack of hair.

HA Bweaves, I read your double post as a question and answer like this:
"What about that Splice chick?"
"What ABOUT that Splice chick?"
Took me a second to realize it was just a double post. It's been a rough week.

I agree with whoever mentioned Sinead O'Connor. Also, I hate Robin Tunney, and I hated her in that role.

Posted by: Whorish Mouth at August 11, 2010 10:14 AM

Mrs. Julien - I think I know what you mean. Believe me, I think NP is stunning. What I love about Sinead O'C is that she's equally stunning (as far as I'm concerned), yet never traded on it. NP rocked the shaved head for a role, Sinead rocked it all the time.

Posted by: samantha t at August 11, 2010 10:27 AM

As to best pixie (and potentially hair transformation in a movie), Mia Farrow in "Rosemary's Baby." That movie is my clothing/facial structure/hair porn.

Posted by: samantha t at August 11, 2010 10:29 AM

I'll call fair for Ilia, and add Virginia Hey (Zhaan) in FarScape given the fact that she had to shave her head for the part.

And Shenanigans on Helen Slater. She wasn't shaved, it's just a short haircut.

Posted by: Kahntahmp at August 11, 2010 10:59 AM

is it just me or do the first three look identical without hair?

Posted by: grizzle at August 11, 2010 11:29 AM

Yessss! Short haired lady love. I have a pixie cut and people are always like "weren't you afraid you wouldn't feel sexy or feminine?" blurgh!
I don't have big eyes like Nadine (jealous!) but I have nice cheekbones, so it works.

And I throw my vote out there for Sinead. She is way hotter than any of the women on this list. That video for "Nothing Compares to U" used to take my breath away, she was just so damn pretty.

Posted by: ninetwenteetoo at August 11, 2010 11:34 AM

Ninewenteetoo: I'm too old to rock the pixie anymore (I have an elfin face that works with a pixie, but I'm in a corporate setting and sometimes look like a dude in suits what with looking tired all the time, etc.), but I think there's nothing more feminine and delicate-looking than a great pixie haircut on a beautiful face.

Posted by: samantha t at August 11, 2010 11:51 AM

Sorry D but the only hot one on the list is Portman...

Posted by: SarahReznor aka Barkai at August 11, 2010 12:45 PM

you're all nuts... Persis Khambatta in The original Star Trek Movie...

Posted by: Don at August 11, 2010 2:40 PM

Oh my God! She's still pretty.
