Does anyone think, at some point during filming, everyone on the box cover of The Good Life looked at each other and thought "we have all fallen soooooo hard", followed by uncomfortable awkward silence.

I can’t decide if I prefer the one that desperately wants to look like American Pie or the one with Freddie Prinze, Jr (which is missing an apostrophe).

That’s one hell of a downward trajectory.

Nash Out.

I think I might have heard of the TV show.

I must know and I can't find it: Where is the missing apostrophe supposed to go?

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at March 9, 2011 12:42 PM

I spent the entire time going, "hey is that Bobby from Ugly Betty? Yep, it is." "Hey is that Topher? Sure enough." "What is Joe Mantagna doing with the pink bunnies?" "Hey, Tim Allen is still acting?"
So even in a random list dedicated to celebrating (is that the right word?) the career of Chris Klein, I can't even be bothered to pay attention to Chris Klein.

"From the co-writer of Meet The Parents"

Worst. Marketing. Ever.

Say what you will about Chris Klein, for I cannot defend him, but Hank and Mike is a kick-ass movie, and that's the truth.

Posted by: Melodie at March 9, 2011 12:50 PM

Love that his roomie in the last one is the terrible over-actor from The TV Set. Officially can't take that guy seriously and consider him a manifestation of all that is awful in the entertainment biz.

Posted by: Georgia at March 9, 2011 12:57 PM

Considering he had all of one movie before American Pie it's not like the had some some of great track record.

Posted by: Matt at March 9, 2011 12:59 PM

OMIWORD Topher! Are Topher and Klein gaying it up in that? To the YouTube!

:: I predict massive disappointment ::

Posted by: Patty O'Green at March 9, 2011 1:00 PM

He really needs a shorter length of rope.

Posted by: Peanut at March 9, 2011 1:09 PM

Every time he spoke in Street Fighter, wife and I burst into laughter. Every time.

Posted by: superasente at March 9, 2011 1:10 PM

How did they manage to make Neal McDonough look simultaneously possessed and goofy on the Street Fighter poster? And is that Michael Clarke Duncan hiding in shame behind him?

Posted by: Rebecca at March 9, 2011 1:26 PM

"I've never seen anyone fail to walk into a room convincingly, but Chris Klein pulls it off." He was the best part of Street Fighter because he seemed to be the one who was most aware of how awful the movie (and his own acting) were. Kristin Kreuk looked like she was trying too hard to save the film, McDonough and Duncan looked apathetic at best, but no one mailed it in first-class priority like Klein.

You're going to hate me for saying this, Dustin, but the headline makes it sound as if she dumped him in 10 movie posters.

OR!

10 Movie Posters: Summing Up the Career of American Pie's Chris Klein Since Katie Holmes Dumped Him

I like the second because it's got a nice stylistic twist and flows nicely. The first one is still a bit clunky.

Please forgive me for being that person. I can't turn off the English teacher sometimes.

I'll see myself out.

Posted by: Snuggiepants at March 9, 2011 1:35 PM

And, uh, I haven't seen a single one of these movies.

Is that good or bad? Were they all released on the big screen or were some straight to DVD? Because I honestly haven't even HEARD of these.

Hey! Wait! Election! Did she break up with him before or after that one?

Posted by: Snuggiepants at March 9, 2011 1:37 PM

"to the Youtube!"

*snorts coffee out the nose*

Posted by: idleprimate at March 9, 2011 1:40 PM

Let's be fair to Mr. "Nash OUT!" and admit that American Pie was hardly the springboard of the next generation of thespians or superstars. Just look at his co-stars:

Jason Biggs, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Mena Suvari.

We are talking one Academy Award movie (Suvari in American Beauty), one cult classic (Reid in The Big Lebowski) and a whole bunch of shit like My Best Friend's Girl, Halloween Resurrection, Thirteen Ghosts, Freddie Got Fingered and Day of the Dead.

In fact, only Alyson Hanningan, Sean William Scott, Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge and Natasha Lyonne left that "series" with any sort of semi-success -- and depending on how you view Scott's and Levy's career tracks, that may not have been enough.

That guy has a terrible case of Stupid Face. He just always looks so simple. It worked for Election, but other than that...that poor boy.

Posted by: figgy at March 9, 2011 1:45 PM

Can we just euthanize him now? I'm sure he'd appreciate it, and the sooner, the better, before he can fall any farther.

"Hulk hate Freddie Prinze Jr!"

Posted by: Fracas at March 9, 2011 1:53 PM

Natasha Lyonne is successful. Did I miss something?!?!

Posted by: Nimue at March 9, 2011 1:58 PM

Well, she successfully threatened to sexually molest her neighbor's dog. Does that count?

Posted by: ed newman at March 9, 2011 2:19 PM

Molest-asche in "The Good Life"? Anyone notice? Wow.

Also, Jeffrey Tambor GET OUTTA THERE! You're better than that.

Posted by: Ian at March 9, 2011 2:24 PM

Well, I have no clue who this guy is. And based solely on the quality of the images used to represent the above titles I'm guessing I'm not missing out on much. I mean if you can't find anything but pixellated images to represent the career of someone who started in a movie made during the last 12 years or so... then what does that mean?

Posted by: lubeg at March 9, 2011 2:25 PM

You could do this sort of thing for the whole cast of American Pie.

Posted by: snrub at March 9, 2011 3:11 PM

Mrs. Julian, the word in apostrophical question is "cinema's", not "cinemas".

Posted by: Mark at March 9, 2011 3:41 PM

That's "Julien".

Posted by: Mark at March 9, 2011 3:43 PM

I haven't seen any of these, but I did think Chirs Klein was kind of funny in "Just Friends" - a movie I will sit and watch despite the fact that I've seen it a bajillion times (Ryan Reynolds! Stephen Root! Julie Hagerty!) Every time I see Klein, I have to yell out "Dinkleman!"
