Suck It, "SNL," TV's Best Sketch Show Returns Next Week

By Joanna Robinson | Seriously Random Lists | September 13, 2013 | Comments ()

I don’t hate “SNL.” Far from it. But as you well know, there are usually only one or two good sketches per episode. And great sketches? Those are even rarer. But Key & Peele starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele? That is comedy gold back to front. In order to promote the upcoming third season, Comedy Central aired a “Best Of” clip show this week. You can watch it in its entirety here. But below are just a few of my favorites. If you’ve only seen the (excellent) “Luther and Obama” sketches, I urge you to check out the rest. Key & Peele returns September 18th. Set your DVRs accordingly.

Movie Hecklers

Party Games

iPhone Call

Obama and Luther

White Sounding Black Guys

Damn, Check That Sh*t Out

Power Falcons

Just Stay For The Night: Maybe my favorite thing anyone has done ever.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • e jerry powell

"Hey, Mitt, 47% of the country called, and they said you get to be President... of JACK SHIT."

  • AudioSuede

That movie theater sketch is so ingenious it's awe-inspiring.

Another great addition: McFerrin vs. Winslow -

    Yet another: Ultimate Fighting -

  • denesteak

substitute teacher cracked me up. "mi-ke-lay!" "here."

  • meh

I'm sorry but "Shot In The Dick" is the best video OF ALL TIME EVER.

  • MGMcD

  • Substitute teacher, East/West all star game, I Said Bitch - could watch these on a loop and never get bored.

  • DataAngel

Substitute Teacher was the first thing in a LONG time that made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe.

  • Sara_Tonin00

I Said Bitch is brilliant. As is the enjoyable wackiness of Liam Neesons.

  • TK

What if... what if Liam Neesons did a movie WITH Bruce Willie?!

  • TK

"Auction Block" remains one of the funniest bits of sketch comedy I've ever seen.

  • DGM

Don't forget the "Vandaveon and Mike" clips where Key and Peele play
college kids who are clueless Key and Peele fans. Brilliantly stupid
stuff, and a great parody of every group of college kids who think
they're funnier than the professional comics they claim to admire.

Vandaveon and Mike critique the Auction sketch:

  • ZbornakSyndrome

Auction Block wins the universe. The first time I saw I actually hurt myself laughing.

  • sjfromsj

I had never seen that "Stay For the Night" sketch, and I will definitely have to concur with you after watching it.

  • Joseph Finn

Then there's the Civil War reenactor sketch, which may be one of the most wonderfully uncomfortable things ever.

  • emmalita

Moar Key and Peele love! They are amazing! Also check out the racist walking dead.

    ETA: link to clip.

  • I've been peripherally aware of Key & Peele for a while. But after they did that MLK vs. Ghandi Epic Rap Battle of History, I am fully on-board for Season 3.

  • Sara_Tonin00

easily the best of the Epic Rap Battles, and there are many I love.

  • Fredo

You forgot the "East-West Names" sketch. Which lives on in sports glory now.

"The player formerly known as Mousecop"

  • MissAmynae

    Dan Smith. BYU.

  • ZbornakSyndrome

My first born shall be named Hingle McCringleberry, or D'Pez Poopsie, depending on the gender, of course.

  • AudioSuede

    Cartoons Plural!

  • Fredo

    Benedict Cumberbatch!

  • Bea Pants

If I ever feel like Mr. Pants is getting down and I want to make him laugh really quick, I say in a deep voice "LaCarptron DukeMarriot"

  • Bert_McGurt

That was the first sketch I watched and I've been hooked ever since.

    Thagittariutt Jefferthpin - Texath A&M
Torque (Construction Noise) Lewith - Nevada State...Penitentiary!
