Name that Twatwaffle

A Pajiba Quiz / Dustin Rowles

Seriously Random Lists | November 21, 2008 | Comments (142)

He’s often maligned around here, but thank God for Judd Apatow, people. Do you realize that, if geeks and nerds, stoners, and freaks weren’t the leads in the teen comedies that are popular these days, then we’d be forced to live in a world where twatwaffles dominated the genre. These twatwaffles are everywhere, and there’s enough gel in their hair to fuel a supertanker. Unfortunately, while they are slightly harder to find in film, to some extent, they do dominate television shows aimed at the 50/50 Gen. The CW, Disney, Nick and MTV are littered with them. They’re everywhere. Fortunately for most of you, unless you follow the gossip blogs obsessively or are under the age of 21, you probably don’t know who most of them are. But they do comprise a very large percentage of the text-speak generation’s heartthrobs, which is a sad state of affairs. A few of these men will become the next generation’s Johnny Depp or Ashton Kutcher, a teen actor that rises to the top to become a legitimate leading man. Tear off your own head (It’s a Doll Revolution).

And my guess is, that unless you’re under the age of 25, most of you won’t be able to identify more than 30 percent of them. But they’re out there. In shows you don’t watch. In movies you avoid. On blogs you don’t read. This is not a quiz, folks, that you’re going to feel proud to do well on. The winner, in fact, gets no prize — just shame and derision. Let us know how you did in the comments so we can throw stones at you.

Here it is: I’ll give you a picture and a short list of credits, and you identify the actor.

1345! I have no shame, but let the derision begin!

Posted by: phquaryn at November 21, 2008 1:06 PM

Oh dear. 1551. That's a pile of failure in a sadness bowl, right there.

Posted by: Geetch at November 21, 2008 1:08 PM

1475, but question 7 has no correct answer, apparently.

Also, don't go on about Judd Apatow reclaiming the world for the freaks and geeks until the female lead in one of his movies is a pudgy, marginally attractive, unsuccessful woman who gets James Franco to fall wildly in love with her.

Posted by: Genny (also Rusty) at November 21, 2008 1:09 PM

Before my score was wiped away, I think it said 998.

Posted by: tamatha at November 21, 2008 1:10 PM

534. I honestly should have done worse. The only one I could recognize was Shia La Beouf. I got a few right just because all the other names had been used earlier. Even in a quiz that I should fail, I find I must get as many right as possible. It's a sickness.

Oh and Spencer Pratt? Spencer. Pratt. That is unequivocally the doucheiset name ever. Just reading that name created an urge to slap the shit out of him.

Posted by: Matty at November 21, 2008 1:13 PM

1705. Kind of....upsetting to hear.

Posted by: danengle at November 21, 2008 1:16 PM

1507, which I blame on my Entertainment Weekly subscription.

Teen Beat boys were much cuter was I was a young lass. Give me Jonathan Brandis or David Lascher over those bitches any day.

Posted by: Julie at November 21, 2008 1:17 PM

1218- ehh. A few I got due to process of elimination. Also, Chris Evans is no twatwaffle! He is pure, unadulterated sex AND he was in Sunshine.

Posted by: lux at November 21, 2008 1:19 PM

848.

I could only recognize Shia Le Beouf and that dude from "Sarah Connor Chronicles." I guessed on the rest. I am several years over 25, so I guess it's not that surprising.

If this is the fate Apatow saved us from, you should reall have Prisco stop wasting his expert fellating skills on Kevin Smith and start going down on Apatow, STAT.

Posted by: ajax19 at November 21, 2008 1:19 PM

873! Woo-Hoo! I sucked!

Matty, I'm right there with you - I kept trying to figure out the right answer - "No, that can't be Thomas Webber, the last guy was Thomas Webber, so it must be Chace Crawford." Why was I trying to succeed? I should fail proudly! I got at least one of them right on a wild guess...

I love that some of them told me "112% have answered this question correctly" - especially when I got it wrong.

Posted by: Edith at November 21, 2008 1:20 PM

1265. Not so great. I thought #9 had no correct answer, but it could have been #7.

Posted by: Jade at November 21, 2008 1:21 PM

1351. Damn me.

Posted by: Snath at November 21, 2008 1:23 PM

1401. And, as Genny (also Rusty) pointed out, 7 has no answer! He is Unknown Twatwaffle #7. Fear him and his possible ties to Disney!

Posted by: Dangle McGee at November 21, 2008 1:23 PM

13-something.

Also, am I the only one who has the pervert-hots for Penn Baggadbedley or whatever his name is? I think he'll grow up to be a fine piece of ass.

Posted by: SofĂa at November 21, 2008 1:24 PM

I can't remember what my score was as I blacked out for a second there. So much wispy patchy facial hair.

Can someone get Stacey in here to shame us all with her score?

Posted by: branded at November 21, 2008 1:24 PM

1175

Favorite thing?

On the answer for the question when Shia What-his-face, his name, at least the first, is spelled wrong.

I guessed at a lot of them. I only knew Dekker from T:SCC.

Spencer Pratt needs to be sterilized for the sake of future generations.

Posted by: Melody at November 21, 2008 1:24 PM

1157. I'm sort of proud that I didn't know a lot of the stupid tv show actors, but upset that I nailed all the asshats from Laguna Beach.

Also, you spelled Shia "Shai". THE BEEF WILL HAVE HIS REVENGE!

Posted by: Marra at November 21, 2008 1:24 PM

1289. Apparently I know nothing about "The Hills".

Hhhhhmmmmm......too bad I don't have the body of one or the dyed pink hair.

Posted by: Nimue at November 21, 2008 1:26 PM

1505, but in all honesty, I just got a bunch of lucky guesses. Or unlucky, if you really think about it, because I obviously have no need to know who any of these douchewaffles are.

Posted by: katycook at November 21, 2008 1:28 PM

Oh Julie, I miss Jonathan Brandis so much :( He was such an adorable piece of manmeat. And can I get a holla for Devon Sawa? I miss him like nobody's business, did he die from neglect too?

Posted by: Annie_Reckson at November 21, 2008 1:29 PM

1398. I am ashamed of myself. I blame my love of Gossip Girl for all of this! Well, that and my smothering mother and too-distant father.

Posted by: The Pink Hulk at November 21, 2008 1:30 PM

1348? I did better on this than on the last one? Yergh. And I'm almost 38.... talk about sad. Maybe I should develop an interest in boys who are more age-appropriate... *pssht* like that will ever happen.

P.S. Geetch, this: a pile of failure in a sadness bowl? I'll be using this. Often.

Posted by: Anna von Beaverplatz at November 21, 2008 1:31 PM

The homosexual tension between Rowles and Apatow is so thick you can cut it with a penis.

*rolls eyes*

jeeeeesus dude

Posted by: BarbadoSlim at November 21, 2008 1:33 PM

Annie_Reckson- I totally loved Devon Sawa! I loved him in Now and Then. Wow, I totally forgot about him and that movie until now.

Oh, no.

Oh, no.

1,643. Leading the registered users.

/hangs head in shame

Well, at least I didn't score 1,896.

Posted by: Sean at November 21, 2008 1:37 PM

958. Don't people over 40 get like a 500 point handicap or something? Although I did get a lot of my points by process of elimination, and from remembering the morons on the cover of my kid's J-14.

Posted by: Wednesday at November 21, 2008 1:44 PM

1877. And I just turned 31. Oh, the shame.

But! BUT! In my own defence, I write for a gossip blog, so DON'T YOU JUDGE ME! At least I get paid for rotting my brain with this shit.

Posted by: Sarina at November 21, 2008 1:45 PM

569. And I'm disappointed. I was hoping I'd do much worse.

lux I agree with you on the Evans and the Sunshine.

BSlim the sensitivity of your gaydar leaves me in awe.

Posted by: admin at November 21, 2008 1:46 PM

Jesus Tittyfucking Christ, Jeremy. Don't make me come up to Canada and stage an intervention. I doubt even Stacey scored that well.

Posted by: Marra at November 21, 2008 1:48 PM

I understand Jeremy's pain, I have a sister in middle school. It's just my luck that she despises High School Musical and most other things Disney and/or Twilight related. She does watch Gossip Girl, though.

And yeah, Chris Evans teh sex.

Posted by: Genny (also Rusty) at November 21, 2008 1:55 PM

1875 bitches! Oh whatever, I'm a girl and most of those guys are acceptably attractive. Plus, once I've seen a movie with someone, I can imdb.com a run for its money.

The Jonas Brother was the only one to give me grief....and sadly, I still got it correct.

Posted by: Teresa at November 21, 2008 1:55 PM

1274 -- The fact that this score is better than my SAT score from long ago is very depressing.

Posted by: JP at November 21, 2008 1:57 PM

1596. It's not a pleasant feeling.

Posted by: Kat at November 21, 2008 1:58 PM

1692. I only feel ok about that because I used process of elimination for several.

For the Joe Jonas pick, you should've used the other 2 Jonases as options. No way in hell I would've known that one.

Posted by: Melissa at November 21, 2008 1:59 PM

I don't know if I trust that scoring. I got more than a thousand points, but I know I didn't get ten right answers. And sometimes it said "130% correct"? What the hell?

Posted by: Todd at November 21, 2008 2:01 PM

Haha, AvB, use away! Unfortunately, I can't take credit for it. It comes from our favorite squishy misanthrope, Patton Oswalt, about those KFC coronary bowls.

1476 and I am not ashamed.... much

Posted by: Wormer at November 21, 2008 2:06 PM

789, though I really only knew 4 of them.

Posted by: Lindsay at November 21, 2008 2:16 PM

NULL!!! I win! The quiz wouldn't even come up.

Posted by: BWeaves at November 21, 2008 2:25 PM

908! And I must point out I did this solely by looking at the text credits - I've got a good memory for imdb trivia and such, but lord knows I'd never actually watch any of that shit. I don't know if I'm proud or relieved to be in the 3 digits!

Posted by: lordhelmet at November 21, 2008 2:42 PM

I am #3. With 1,642 points.

For the love of Godtopus, someone please put me down. I can't live with this shame in my heart.

(Though to be honest, the ones I didn't know where pretty easy to guess.)

Posted by: figgy at November 21, 2008 2:45 PM

while i only knew shia lebeouf, i discovered that each one of them kind of looks like his name suggests. it was therefore shockingly easy to match the stranger to his name.
twatwaffle stereotypes are awesome.

Posted by: kelsi at November 21, 2008 2:45 PM

#3 -- 1614 - I'm a 29 year old gay gossip blog addict. I think I need serious professional help.

Is there an Intervention for this shit?

Posted by: Brian at November 21, 2008 2:45 PM

OK, the quiz came up, finally.

953. I got 18 right. I'm SOOOOOOOO EMBARASSED, with the emphasis on BARE ASSED.

Does it count that I answered with my eyes closed?

Posted by: BWeaves at November 21, 2008 2:46 PM

1605. And I only did so well because Jesse Metcalf's eyebrows froze the game up about halfway through and I had to refresh it and start over...and I still managed to get two of the ones I'd already answered wrong again.

Posted by: feramones at November 21, 2008 2:48 PM

1416. OK, I felt bad about that for a second until I saw that people were upwards of 1500.
ALSO, I am not ashamed because ... um ... my score on my SATs (old-school) was higher than my score on this. Yup. That's today's rationalization and boy, does it feel good.

Posted by: lizling at November 21, 2008 2:50 PM

EYEBROWS!

Posted by: BWeaves at November 21, 2008 2:50 PM

1099. I was worried that I'd do well, since I'm 25 and teach high school. Luckily my students like good things.

Posted by: vinniedelpino at November 21, 2008 2:55 PM

1108. I think the majority of the answers I got were due to repetitive selection of choices...and of course the three or four recognizable faces.

Posted by: Handel at November 21, 2008 2:58 PM

Sebastian Stan is the world's most retarded name.

Posted by: M Kane at November 21, 2008 3:00 PM

1177? How the hell? I had no idea who most of those chicks were!

Posted by: Kolby at November 21, 2008 3:05 PM

Spencer Pratt's mandible scares the crap out of me.

Posted by: Agente Provocatrice at November 21, 2008 3:05 PM

When Speidi were on tv talking about their upcoming HIMYM guest spot, my boyfriend just crinkled up his forehead and said, "Who the hell are they?" in complete honesty.

I think I fell in love with him a little more at that moment.

Posted by: feramones at November 21, 2008 3:09 PM

I am ashamed at how well I did on that. I got all of them right. I haven't watched the Hills in 2 years, and I watch Gossip Girl, but besides that most I just figured out by process of elimination. I don't even read gossip blogs! I swear. (other than links in pajiba love, that is) ugh, I feel gross now.

Posted by: ami at November 21, 2008 3:12 PM

1215. What is Chris Evans doing on that list?

Posted by: Eep at November 21, 2008 3:13 PM

1184, but that's only because I shuddered when I saw Pratt's photo and accidently clicked the "Satan" option instead.

Posted by: Beatific Barf at November 21, 2008 3:20 PM

775...I haven't even heard of a lot of those movies.

Posted by: erin b at November 21, 2008 3:30 PM

246, and I couldn't be happier...unless I had scored 0, which I figured I would easily attain until I somehow -- blindly -- got one right (plus a couple more, obviously). Damn you, Jared Padalecki!

Posted by: Che Grovera at November 21, 2008 3:31 PM

I got 1309. I feel ashamed, but I'm also currently unemployed and have little else to do.

M Kane: I'm with you on Sebastian Stan being the world's most retarded name, though Tom Wisdom is right up there. I immediately thought it was a lameass ripoff of Tommy Gnosis's name in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Posted by: sassmouth at November 21, 2008 3:34 PM

1605... I blame it on my phenomenal guessing skills.

Posted by: Lyric at November 21, 2008 3:34 PM

1128. Some of these were guesses based on credits, etc. I certainly didn't recognize most of these by sight. But I do read too many celebrity blogs.

Posted by: rlr260 at November 21, 2008 3:36 PM

1617, and I feel compelled to add (in hopes of slightly redeeming myself) that I guessed on a fair number of them. I still feel a little dirty though.

Posted by: batgirl at November 21, 2008 3:39 PM

785 but I had 4 lucky guesses. Factoring those in gives me a 362.8756632 which i can live with.

Posted by: rene at November 21, 2008 3:44 PM

1,618. Would someone please put a gun to my head and put me out of my pop-culture twatwaffle misery now?

Posted by: AnnArrogance at November 21, 2008 3:45 PM

1,090....by process of elimination most of them and i think cris evans and shia do not deserve to be there, to me they move in a different circle than the rest.

if the one with the jonas clone would had all three names on, it would it be impossible to answer that correct as for me they all look the same.

And Sofia, you are not alone.

Posted by: NDR at November 21, 2008 3:51 PM

1653.

I await Kayanne's validation.

Posted by: kalafraja at November 21, 2008 3:59 PM

999 - it's some comfort that a lot of you scored better than me. And that I only read gossip mags when I travel and I've been on a plane 8 times in the last 2 months.

Posted by: blueshark at November 21, 2008 4:00 PM

701. I only did that well because a) Chris Pine is in the new Star Trek movie and b) I read this site. I found out I don't know what Spencer Pratt looks like, which is a relief.

Posted by: Three-nineteen at November 21, 2008 4:03 PM

1822. I have no defense for this. I'm just lame. I blame WIMB for part of it.

Posted by: jamiepants at November 21, 2008 4:05 PM

So the answer was the top right choice about 10 times in a row. I didn't know near any of these people yet I scored 1200 points by clicking the top-right choice constantly. Glad to see my test guessing skills have not left me after all these years.

Posted by: TylerDFC at November 21, 2008 4:12 PM

1244.
Mostly going by the names and the resumes - I rarely knew the face. (Well except JPad, since he's the enormous screenhog who keeps blocking my view of Jensen Ackles... and Zac fuckin Efron because he's been everybloodywhere on the net..)

Posted by: Tarn at November 21, 2008 4:36 PM

It's Shia LaDouche...I mean, LaBeuf (oh man he really needs to get a better stage name, I mean, really)...I can't do that stuff @ work but whatever. I read the stupid gossip blogs so I know who this idiot is unfortunately. What's hilarious about him is that he got trashed and drove his huge Toyota Forerunner or whatever and I think even flipped it over or some shit! That's even a better accomplishment than his actual film career. I need to get a life STAT!

Posted by: ph at November 21, 2008 4:58 PM

11-somethin'-somethin' (damn, those scores disappear fast!). Most of my right answers came from reading casting news here (the dumb farting dog movie, etc.). I did recognize 3 or 4 of the faces, including, sadly, Spencer Pratt (thanks, Celebitchy). If ever there was an appropriate name for a person....

Posted by: meaux at November 21, 2008 5:01 PM

1726, I sure do know my twatwaffles. I am not proud of the way I have spent my time on the internets and tv that I did that well. I think I only missed one.

Posted by: Mandy at November 21, 2008 5:03 PM

1619, but to be fair, I knew most of the twatwaddles BECAUSE of this site.

Posted by: Meggrs at November 21, 2008 5:07 PM

949 - And I read like 3-4 gossip blogs a day...awesome to know I don't know most of these douches. I am so glad now!

Posted by: ph at November 21, 2008 5:07 PM

771- Seriously, who are these people?

Posted by: brenia at November 21, 2008 5:28 PM

887, the only score that has ever made me want to kill myself. So... many... twatwaffles...!

Posted by: George at November 21, 2008 5:44 PM

I love the parade of excuses! Admit it, you all love these douchebags.

Posted by: Eep at November 21, 2008 6:00 PM

Ughhh 1196. I didnt know any of them but I managed to match the douchefaces with the douchenames. Its a kind of inferential guesswork that really helped me out with the SATs. I wouldve scored higher but the faces kept coming at me and my stomach betrayed me. But then again I suppose my stomach felt betrayed by my eyes which refused to look away from the douchewaffle parade. A thousand apologies dear stomach, its over and all is forgiven now.

Posted by: ms shai at November 21, 2008 6:13 PM

No, like seriously these kids are fucking ugly. This is what the teen girls have these days? Where the fuck is Zach Morris?

Posted by: ms shai at November 21, 2008 6:22 PM

1206, and I learned about the ones I know from all those caustic, sardonic blogs out there. (And about Jared Padalecki from Stacey, of course.) So I'm not too bothered.

Posted by: csb at November 21, 2008 6:30 PM

543.

I'm cool with that.

Posted by: TK at November 21, 2008 6:31 PM

1111, which... I am just glad it wasn't higher. I did experience shame at knowing right away who Spencer Pratt is, but that's really from WIMB and all the trillions of gossip mag covers at B&N.
Compared to some of those guys, Jared Padalecki is like Kenneth Brannagh, seriously. Have you never seen his turn as Rory's boyfriend Dean on "Gilmore Girls?" Pure magic.

Posted by: Cait at November 21, 2008 6:35 PM

1123.

And a couple of those were freebies like Pattinson and Spencer Twat.

A couple I recognize because my daughter watches Nickelodeon and Disney.

A few were guesses.

Don't stone me!!!

Posted by: greer at November 21, 2008 6:41 PM

742 ... mostly just because I kept clicking the upper right corner ... and I knew who Shia TheBeef(sp?) and Zach Efron were.

For the record, up until the end, I thought that some of the names were just things the quiz writer made up ... Jared Padalecki? Spencer Pratt? Please tell me those are stage names.

The Chris Evans Chest should be in a film with the Ryan Reynolds Chest

ANd i unashamedly LOVE LOVE Shia Lebouf. I think he can act his ass off, and he's hot.

That is all.

Holy crap. 1341. That isn't much worse than I did on the quizzes for topics I supposedly proudly know. All I was using to answer for the most part was logic and process of elimination and a bit of my knowledge of the industry.

Posted by: DarthCorleone at November 21, 2008 8:21 PM

P.S. I also resent your inclusion of Jared Padalecki. C'MON. He is NOT a twatwaffle and he stars on my beloved Supernatural. So damn you.

Failing miserably at this sad, humiliating exercise, which, really, embarrasses us ALL in that it would even be conceived of in the first place, randomly or not;

and after reading ALL of the scores/commentary that the Pajibaverse has so willingly, and admirably, shared with us, I've only been able to come up with this conclusion, separate from any other source that might have concocted their own perspective, and I share it with you now:

"Twatwaffle," a term unto itself as perceived by Mr. Rowles for this particular column, is great-sounding and highly original, might I add.

But, simply put, I myself prefer the term TwatMuffin, for what it's worth..
because at least it emphasizes an opinion that these false models of humanism, male or female, relate to what is supposed to be a more 'preferable' description to our civilized society, i.e., all of us, as part of the human breed, both possess and treasure our own private, soft muffins (NOT our non-existent "waffles," Sir) that get us thru a cold, lonely night, whether they be our own or someone else's, and I plead- no, I DEMAND, that ALL of our warm, toasty muffins be recognized, regardless of age, sex, race, morbidly fat, male or female, fleshy, bouncy, living human buttocks, i.e., the butt cheeks of glutieous maximus protrusion personified themselves, that they be made OUT AND PROUD to all Pajibans, without apology or further explanation.

Now, YOU, Sir Rowles: Show me a TRUE "twatwaffle," in the most physical sense you can conjure, and I'll demand you take me to the nearest carny sideshow of freaks to prove your point. I mean, really, Mr. Man, redact your 'waffle' analogy, it just doesn't work, and accept the true term I offer you now, since I may not be visiting this particular dimension again anytime soon...

TwatMuffin
Learn it, Love it, Remember it..

1568.

I swear I don't watch the any of the worthless shows and movies these assholes are in, I swear!

And yet, I knew most of them. And damnit, if that's not going to haunt my dreams tonight, I don't know what is.

As long as we're all making our lameness public, let me just get this off my chest.... I would smother Shia Labeouf in bbq sauce and turn him like a rib. Not ashamed!

1763. Finally, that one hungover afternoon watching a Hills marathon and my obsessive gossip blog phase and my undying love of High School Musical paid off!

Posted by: Sabrina at November 22, 2008 12:55 AM

You say "twatwaffle" like it's a bad thing. Obviously, you've never had a three-way with Aunt Jemima and Mrs. Butterworth. Talk about flapjacks, my girls got 'em! I don't want to say those bitches are hot, but now every time I reach for the maple syrup I get wood. RAWR!

The downside is, I've been asked to leave IHOP like nine times.

1544. I don't even know where I know these names from, but they're taking up room in my brain that would be far better used by song lyrics and old phone numbers.

Posted by: doomcow at November 22, 2008 1:39 AM

1593. The combination of trawling fashion and entertainment blogs on Saturday afternoons and being a 18 year old female must be getting to me.

Posted by: Wombat at November 22, 2008 4:46 AM

727, tough I have to admit I sort of cheated by choosing names I knew weren't the ones of the picture just because I didn't want to have the risk of randomly getting the right answer

wow
I can't believe it

But this quiz is much easier than the one with the teen movies...there were less options, therefore if I didn't know who the guy was, I knew who he wasn't.

But come ON!!
People from Laguna Beach and the Hills in here??
they won't ever be someone!

Posted by: Mario at November 22, 2008 12:20 PM

960. Based on guessing. And knowing Cedric Diggory.

What totally appalled me was that there is a thing (TV show, from the quotes) that is called "Bromance." Seriously? I will now remove my eyeballs with a pickle fork.

Hmmmmmm, a little too high for my taste.

14somethingorother. I also know nothing about The Hills. A proud statement, I must say.

I must admit this: I guessed on almost every one of these except Shia LaBeauf -- and I just guessed on the spelling of his name -- and that Spencer Brat character, whom I ONLY know because he has been SHOVED at me by magazines at the grocery store and is simply unavoidable.

Posted by: Maryscott O'Connor at November 22, 2008 2:23 PM

I will not take your quiz (I'm afraid of what I might score), but I applaud you on the Elvis Costello lyric! Nice!

Posted by: Nora Borealis at November 22, 2008 2:56 PM

Don't mean to come off as an a-hole, but I'm pretty sure that's what I'll be regarded as anyway. But there's just something that continues to bother me everytime someone talks about how fucking great Judd Apatow is...

Realistically, this cat has only written and directed...what, two movies? I, of course, am referring to that unreleased one Funny People (or something along those lines), and Knocked Up. No, 40-Year-Old Virgin is not, repeat, NOT written by Judd Apatow. In part, Steve Carrell shared a writing credit in that film.

Don't get me wrong, he produces A WHOLE LOTTA things (which, oddly enough, get flamed pretty viciously here on Pajiba...see Pineapple Express, Superbad), but people also tend to forget: Apatow shared a writing credit on You Don't Messing with the Zohan. Motherfuckin' Zohan. I'm sorry, but that's reason alone to question his reputation.

And now he's working with Sandler on Funny People. Maybe Judd will make him spit better lines than a cop-off of an Incredible Hulk quote, but even Apatow has said while this upcoming movie is a comedy, it's more adult. More mature.

Not that that's bad, but maybe Apatow just isn't that funny. Knocked Up was great, don't get me wrong, but it had fewer hilarious moments that Virgin. Maybe that's what Apatow should be note-worthy of: Heart, with additives of humor.

But, no, he's not the second-coming of Comedic Christ.

:(

Also, Robert Pattinson was in "Harry Potter and the Golbet of Fire," not "Order of the Phoenix." "Harry Potter" is awesome, so I feel no need to defend myself for noticing this.

Posted by: Sarah at November 22, 2008 6:47 PM

781.

But the most disturbing thing is that one of the 'credits' for one of the unrecognizable boys in that far too long list was for 'Walter the Farting Dog'. Really? Is that a joke? Please tell me that's a joke. Or at least an ironic and/or metaphoric title.

Posted by: VampireNomad at November 22, 2008 7:05 PM

I just got the highest score I've gotten on any of the pajiba quizzes so far. God, I hate myself.

There was one I didn't know but got the right answer by accident and one I deducted from ticking off other possibilities.I did know some of them from movies and that i answered honestly.

Grrrrrr.

Do I win?

Posted by: bucdaddy at November 22, 2008 12:16 AM

You're a winner in my book. I've had two realistic shots at a goose egg in this quiz series and I've blown both of them -- it's just as hard to guess wrong as it is to guess right when you have no idea what you're looking at. Thus, I'm of the opinion that scoring zero on one of these quizzes is like hitting for the cycle in baseball: unappreciated by the masses but statistically more challenging than any other more highly regarded accomplishment...

Posted by: Che Grovera at November 23, 2008 4:48 PM

A massive 868! I think most of mine were just random shots in the dark. It actually makes me kind of proud to say that I barely know any of those douchenuggets.

Posted by: Dr Spaceman at November 23, 2008 6:19 PM

Ha! 565, and three right were wild ass guesses. The Jared dude I knew from Dustin's review the other day, and the Shia kid from my husband's Transformers obsession. Otherwise, I was stuck somewhere between don't fucking know and don't fuckin care.

Posted by: slower lower at November 23, 2008 6:19 PM

Welllllll ... I clicked on the first photo and recognized none of the names. And quit. So it's actually more of an "incomplete" 0 than an "I managed to miss them all" 0.

But if I took it enough times, bet I'd achieve perfection.

Posted by: bucdaddy at November 23, 2008 9:21 PM

1224 - Pretty average by the looks of things - With the amount of time I spend wasted on shitty gossip sites I thought I was gonna have this hands down. Phew!!

Posted by: BrisVegasBec at November 23, 2008 10:44 PM

1729, got only one wrong but lost points due to reading all the names. Considering I live in Romania and don't get shows like The Hills or Bandcamp or w/e the Jonas brothers are in (for which I'm profoundly grateful, don't get me wrong), I'm pretty proud of myself. Long live the useless trivia forever stuck in my head instead of actual general knowledge. You know like, who Dustin would bang if he were gay. Cause everybody knows that, really.

Posted by: DemonWaterPolo at November 24, 2008 10:53 AM

1593. I'm vaguely ashamed, and yet, at least half of the people I knew I've only heard of or would only recognise due to Pajiba tearing into them on a fairly regular basis (c.f., Spencer Pratt - I've never seen the Hills, but there have been multiple links to WiMB entries about him since I starting reading Pajiba regularly)

Posted by: Shay at November 24, 2008 10:57 AM

1732. In my defense, I also was able to get most of them correct through process of elimination. Who the hell is Sebastian Stan?! And I miss Devon Sawa too. He was also in Casper with Christina Ricci. I loved that movie.

Posted by: Austin at November 24, 2008 11:48 AM

I answered 4 correctly which defies the law of averages, all things considered. I'm old.

1510, but I must say that when you use the names over and over and they can only correspond to one picture, it's not that hard to guess correctly. I knew maybe half the people on the quiz (thanks, I guess, to MSN Gossip and occasionally watching E!). Maybe I'm just a good test-taker.
