I find the Important Stuff so you don’t have to.

5. Uggie Got a Book Deal; Jean Dujardin: “WTF?”

Simon & Schuster will publish Uggie: My Story by The Artist’s (retired?) famous Jack Russell Terrier, (to be “transcribed” by writer Wendy Holden). But no worries Jean, there are plenty of us who will buy your nude calendar. Heck, I’ll even do the photography myself.

4. New York City’s Municipal Archives Released a Ton of Cool Photos:

The site is temporarily down due to overwhelming demand, but The Gothamist has several nice shots to whet your appetite. I can’t wait to peruse.

3. CinemaCon Saw the First of Ang Lee’s Life of Pi Footage; Everyone Raved.

Life-of-Pi.jpg

Even though the footage was unfinished and had a temporary score, some audiences were moved to tears and Oscars have already been predicted by several film review sites. Though the book by Yann Martel was thought to be unfilmable, Lee was inspired by a young actor (Suraj Sharma) and 3-D technology. The story follows a 17 year old Indian boy (Pi) immigrating to North America with his family…and a cargo boatful of zoo animals. During a storm, Pi—along with a Bengal tiger and a zebra—is evacuated to a lifeboat and must continue the journey without his family.

2. Director Henry Selick Made a Deal with Disney to Direct Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book.

This will be the second Gaiman screen adaptation by Selick (Coraline, James and the Giant Peach, The Nightmare Before Christmas). Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book,” Gaiman’s tale follows the orphan Bod, who lives in a cemetery and is raised by ghosts and other supernatural beings.

1. Two New Avengers Television Clips Appeared, Fanboys/girls Salivated:

Hey, whadaya know…even those of us who don’t always tend toward superheroes are intrigued. (Hemsworth may have something to do with this…) The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon and starring a powerhouse of pretty (Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson) opens May 4th (in IMAX 3-D).

Cindy Davis is an inconsistent fangirl.
