By Cindy Davis | Seriously Random Lists | August 7, 2013 | Comments ()

I love a good bad guy, and better yet, a really bad girl (and by “bad” I mean baaaaad). And what more is there to say than that? These are the best of the best. I know you’ll argue and scream your “But what about…?” screams;” my song remains the same.

12. Lila Tournay, “Dexter”

Don’t even try to argue—Six was bent to destroy the entirety of humanity and she was deliciously good bad.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • Al Link

    PAM AND JUUUUUDE.

  • MissAmynae

Six was my dream casting for Cersei. Well-chosen, but I do miss the dear Dr. Kimberly Mitchell from good ol' Melrose Place.

  • LEROOOY

I nominate "Mom" from Futurama, that is pure evil right there.

  • fauxhawk

Are you kidding me? PAM IS ERRRYTHING.

  • celery

    SISTAH JUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE

  • Kate at June

For me, the best villains are those that aren't redeemed. Alice would be my #1.

  • Standing next to Six while she was pretending to be Tricia Helfer - even before her nudie pics - it was clear she was a villainess through and through. Too friendly and fun, teeth a little too white with her perfect tan, just a bit too tall with her well-proportioned boob-job. I don't know where the rest of the Cylons went, but she clearly is a Cylon playing an actress/human, who used to play a Cylon.

  • ljridley

    And of course Lilah Morgan:

  • I was just thinking that. Drusilla and Darla should also have spots on this list.

  • Muhnah_Muhnah

Is it wrong that I'm attracted to most of these characters?

  • chanohack

    No!

  • Wild Rumpus

Half of this list is more "Bad Girl" or "Bad Ass" than "Big Bad."

That being said, the devilish Sister Mary Eunice was my favorite character from AHS Season 2. And I cannot wait to see what Ryan Murphy pulls out of his ass for all the amazing actresses in Season 3. I'm sure it will be banana boat crazy.

  • badkittyuno

Agent Stahl still gives me the creeps. That actress was fantastic.

  • $65530708

    Additional:

    Eight. “Battlestar Galactica”

    Irene Adler. "Elementary"

  • Even Stevens

Oh God I hated Lila, like with a burning, eternal hatred. I wanted to smack her stupid face and stupid accent and stupid stupid everything. STUPID.

  • Uriah_Creep

Exactly. While evryone else was busy hating Rita, I focused my loathing on the real villain. STUPID villain, that is. STUPID.

  • Jerce

I hated her mainly for the actress's terrible plastic surgery and the terrible writing that made her a terrible character. Every moment she was on my screen I was just waiting for her to get off my screen.
Lila sucked and does not belong on this list.

  • Juxyn

    Helena?

  • $65530708

    No Helena.

  • Juxyn

    Why no Helena?

  • kkirkpat

I would love to experience getting told off by Pam De Beaufort. I think it would be simultaneously terrifying and arousing.

  • BendinIntheWind

    June Stahl?? Really?! The. Worst.

    Capital T, capital W.

  • WhoDeyKY

    I effing LOATHED Stahl.

  • fauxhawk

She's the female version of Matthew Lillard.

  • lowercase_ryan

When the F*CK does Justified start up??

  • Anni

I can't whether you're expressing exasperation, in which case amen to that, or are actually asking, in which case, January.

  • Anni

    I can't TELL whether....

  • lowercase_ryan

    exasperation

  • Slash

Demon Nun! Demon Nun! Demon Nun! With an assist by fucking crazy Sister Jude. Those two ... I could watch them all day.

And no, I don't want to watch them get it on. And no nun fetish, either.

  • lowercase_ryan

    I might also say....http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__c...

because Vincent D'onofrio was a thing once.

  • e jerry powell

Vincent d'Onofrio is still a thing, damn you.

  • lowercase_ryan

Don't yell at me, I didn't wish his star would fade. I own The Cell ffs.

  • e jerry powell

The Cell bit big donkey dicks, but Naked D'Onofrio is always welcome. Except for the hooks-through-the-back bits.

That film could have been so much better without J.Lo.
(I must admit, most of the problem I have is with J.Lo. And Vince Vaughn. ANYONE BUT THOSE TWO could have made the movie bearable for me, but I spent so much time seething at them...)

  • lowercase_ryan

J Lo is just awful, period.

  • ed newman

Sister Jude was not a villainess. She was a stern taskmaster troubled by her past. And a dancing queen.

  • letsspoon

I'd say her role in the first season of AHS was WAY more of a villainess. Sister Jude actually sort of redeemed herself as a good person this season.

  • Sars

Patty is not a villain. She is a highly flawed character but she is not a villain- Her motivations are not money, nor power, but fighting bullies who exert their power to crush the powerless. The measures she goes to to protect herself and her goals, are flawed, but she feels bad about them and has regrets. Her motivations are revealed in the last season of Damages and you see where she comes from.

  • Aaron

Surprised not to see any Buffy villainesses.

  • LD

Buffy villanesses are campy not scary.

  • Aaron

I don't think that makes them necessarily less awesome and Pam (true blood) is pretty campy.

  • Binky Jones

Thanks for adding pictures they really helped bring this article to life. Sexy ; )

  • Tinkerville

Victoria Grayson! Yes, I still watch Revenge. What of it.

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

Season one, yes. Season two, hell no. They need to get her back to just delicious evillness next season.

  • Tinkerville

    Truer words were never spoken.

  • LD

Mags Bennet is more terrifying than any of those sci-fi villainesses.

  • dizzylucy

Yes- her sadly but dutifully picking up the hammer...

  • emmalita

Truer words. Even Raylan was afraid of her at the end.

  • LD

She is the only person that made him sound fearful when talking to. It was like he's tiptoeing on a minefield.

  • John G.

Pam's not a villainess. She doesn't fit any typical dramatic labels. She's just misunderstood. And you just HAD to include fucking American Horror Story to make my blood pressure rise, didn't you?

  • cicatricella

I was just gonna say that! Pam isn't a villainess, she's just not *nice*

  • Pants-are-a-must

Maryann was not awesome. She was supremely annoying.

  • Derreck

I loved MaryAnn and Michelle Forbes' performance BUT her story moved along at a glacial pace which really hurt her character.

Think about how much you're wrong while watching Maryann slap Karl.

  • Pants-are-a-must

    Nope, still really annoying.

  • Mrs. Julien

And Ginger is such a tease.

  • Ian Fay

Man, I really need to finish this season of Luther.

And maybe some early episodes of Hustle as a palate cleanser after.

  • Derreck

Pam is not a villain. She's the hero/HBIC of True Blood.

  • LucyKlein

Pam screaming she's tired Sookie and her fairy vagina, makes her a hero to us all.

  • cgthegeek
  • John W

Man the header pic is so distracting. I said it before, Ruth Wilson is alluring.

  • Ozioma

    No Cersei Lannister?

  • Tinkerville

I'd throw in Melisandre instead of Cersei. I mean.. she'll (spoiler) get you into bed and then stick leeches on your happy places.

  • freetickles

I think both Mel and Cersei may be viewed as heroines by some...

  • John G.

unless the red god is real, then she's the good guy trying to fight the real fight.

  • Morgan_LaFai

That is assuming that the red god is a good god and not the devil. I remain undecided on this issue, but if I had to chose I would much rather worship old trees than a fire god that demands bloody fire filled sacrifice, but that's just me.

  • I was on the fence with the red god...until Melisandre gave birth to a shadow demon with the express purpose of using it to assassinate someone. If using shadow demon assassins isn't one of the tell-tale markers of an evil cult, I don't what is.

  • Morgan_LaFai

Yeah, but it is not as if any of the gods are paragons of virtue in this world. I remain undecided on all the gods and all the magic powers at this point, with the exception: White walkers = bad; dragons = good. Flame, specifically dragon flame, but flame none the less, is what is needed to counter the White walkers, and it is the red gods connection to fire that has me on the fence. Also, Meisandre may be a zealot (she definitely is a zealot) who is misinterpreting the messages.

So I guess what I am trying to say is, who the fuck knows at this point. I hope Martin does, but the rest of us are in the dark with nothing but crazy theories.

  • Apparently it's you and 5 (so far) up-voters. I do the maths...

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

I won't argue about Six, but I'm not convinced that Pam or Patty particularly qualify as outright villainesses. Like, I think I might class them more as anti-heroines or something. More or less.

  • I would argue about Six but I've only watched the series one time and while I think she is less bad than some of the cylons I'm not sure she's good in the sense that Roslin is good.

  • IngridToday

Personally, I couldn't handle the robot Evangelism.

  • emmalita

I think Patty is such an anti-heroine that she moves over to villainess territory. Although she certainly doesn't think of herself that way.

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

Yeah, excellent point, I was pretty hesitant about adding her in because I wasn't sure I don't believe this myself.

I'll hold out for Pam as anti-heroine, though. Or something. She doesn't seem to give enough shits to really be a villain.
