Why are woman mad about this. Isn't it flattering to look at someone in a different light. When A woman grows exceedingly older, a younger man will not find her attractive because she starts to resemble a mother or grandmother figure to him. it doesn't mean she isn't still beautiful, she is just looked at differently. I was extremely surprised at how beautiful and young Angela Lansbury was. I have only seen her as an elderly woman.

Except for Tommy Lee Jones who looks like a different person to me, all these people look exactly the same now, just wrinkly-er. Are you guys saying that once people get old, you can no longer tell the difference between the hotties and the notties? Kind of ageist....I'm only 27 but it's not like I can't tell the difference between good-looking people and not good looking people once they hit the age of 65.

"Only" 27? You might be young compared to the people on this list, but don't get carried away.

'Only' said to avoid the charge of wishful thinking that age doesn't vastly change one's face. I'm painfully aware that as a woman I am pretty close to being put out to pasture.

Regretfully, I must disagree on Ian McKellen and Anjelica Huston. Ian was not bad, but "face meltingly hot"? More like, "not unattractive, and his intelligence and talent make him much more attractive." As for Anjelica, well ... she photographed extremely well, but even John Huston, her father, opined that she was "a mite plain." That woman is proof that even a not-so-pretty woman can make herself beautiful with the right cosmetics, a smashing fashion sense, and enough personality and charisma to overcome initial appearances.

To my eyes, young Ian McKellen was fairly staggering, like a prettier Malcolm McDowell. I'm a straight guy but daaaaaamn, he had it going on. But to each their own.

It's interesting how beauty can be divorced from sexiness--I always think of them as the same thing, but they're really not. To me, present day Jessica Lange is very beautiful, but those pictures of her as a young woman make me kinda heady. She's desultory. Same thing with Max Von Sydow. He's handsome in his own right as an older gentleman, but it's totally separate from that young guy in the picture, who is just insanely hot.

yeah I believe that pic of Jessica Lange is from the 70's King Kong remake and yes she was the best part of that crappy movie.

Her character was the worst part of that movie, vain, self-centered, dimwitted and fame-hungry. It probably had nothing to do with Lange, but I hated her character. She was undeniably smoking hot though.

And she's been great in just about everything else she's ever done. She (for Tootsie), Jennifer Connelly (for A Beautiful Mind), and Kate Hudson (for Almost Famous) are the only three performances after which I think I fell totally in love with the actress.

I'm surprised at the lack of Betty White. Every time I see a picture of her in her 20s or 30s, I'm just awestruck by how beautiful she was.

And I think Mandy Patinkin has gotten better with age. His look as Saul is pretty damn great.
