I am fascinated by how polarizing this character is.
For my money, he is an exercise in dancing the line between irritating and so-irritating-it-circles-back-around-to-funny. Out of context, he should drive me nuts, but something about the absurdity of his intensity has won me over (the wine tasting episode has become oft-quoted in my house: "WHAT KIND OF MONSTER ORDERS RED WITH *FISH*???" *kills* me, for some bizarre reason. Apparently I enjoy extreme intensity about mundane things).
But then again, I hated Jean-Ralphio until I loved him; I even hated Tom Haverford at first, but now I can't imagine a world before Treat Yo Self.
Hate into Love: it's the Parks & Rec way.

  • Matt Smith

I feel like i am not getting something. A lot of people that I think are funny, and
I value their opinion really think this guy is awesome(including Pajiba). I just do not think that someone screaming non stop is that amusing. Craig is probably the only character on the show that I would not miss if he went away.

  • RhymesWithWitch

No one likes gifs. You should warn people that the entire article is nothing but gifs. Almost had a fucking seizure.

  • Nick Williams

So bad a character that it has nearly driven me from watching the show- unfunny- the way a 10 minute SNL sketch should be a 2 minute sketch- got really old really fast- if I knew this person in real life I would be considering violence every time I found myself in his presence.

  • TheAggroCraig

He's not Mr DeMartino, he's more like a long lost brother of Johnny from "Airplane!".

  • atoz15

ok, enjoy craig all you want but dont even try to compare him to benji fricking wyatt!!

  • I think Craig is one of the funniest characters on 'Parks and Rec' and one of my personal favorites behind April, with Ron being #1. When he yelled 'LOOK AT ME!' at Andy I just about choked on my coffee.

  • Nick Cowling

Wasn't expecting to like the character but the outrage he brings is amazing

  • BeardoGomez

    Yuck.

  • Ginger McFlea

Nope. Nice try but Craig is Parks' version of 30 Rocks' Hazel. It should work but it just doesn't.

  • Monica

    Poppycock.

  • Jack Donaghy

    *Hogcock, Lemon.

  • opiejuankenopie

This show has the amazing ability to introduce annoying characters and then make you like them. I don't know how they do it.

  • Sarah Weissman

I think there's something about the ensemble nature of the cast and a balance of energies among everyone, when there are individual characters who would get old if they were on their own show.

  • dizzylucy

He is loathsome... and yet I cannot look away.

I actually didn't like him until he and Jean Ralphio were on-screen together, and now I would pay money to see them go horseback riding together.

  • letsspoon

Craig re: Tom's sadness over Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth not showing up to the Bistro and reuniting: "Well forget about it, he's not good enough for her..AND VICE VERSA!"

    Love.him.

  • CBN

    12. He's the worst, and he makes you value everyone else's screen time more because it's time not being wasted getting aurally assaulted by a one-note youtube gimmick

  • blacksred

My husband and I HATE this character. I roll my eyes so hard that I am scared they are going to get stuck every time he is annoying = everytime he is onscreen. And my GOD the stupid yelling.

  • Donna SHerman

Every time he says anything, I think, "You SHOULD be annoying the shit out of me, but instead, I LOVE YOU WITH EVERY FIBRE OF MY BEING GIVE ME MORE."

  • _Alexander_

Oh god Mr De Martino! Now I know why I love Craig so much.

Drifts off in fond Daria memories

  • CAPS LOCK IS HOW HE FEELS INSIDE. AND OUTSIDE. EVERYWHERE, REALLY.

  • ZestyItalian2

I agree. This guy's appearance on Parks & Rec renewed my active interest in the show, which had been waning slightly. His bizarrely aggressive energy is amazing.

  • BendinIntheWind

Dear god, I hope when we jump into season 7 that he and Jean-Ralphio are the best of friends.

  • competitivenonfiction

    Or mortal enemies.

  • Swaimfan

    Or boyfriends

  • Dumily

    Maybe all 3?

  • LittleMissPonderer

My mind read the GIF captions in his voice, and now I have a throbbing headache...

  • mswas

It's IMPOSSIBLE for me to love this MORE!
